If you don't know how to install the game (or how to use crack), you will usually get an "launch epic" error. You can check out the instructions below (how to use crack - it's a generic guide, but it's mostly the same for all games):
To ya'll saying this doesn't work, you just didn't follow the instructions properly. "You must launch the game through Epic Games Launcher" error happened to me too. After carefully reading the instructions our precious mod here shared, I found out that all you need to do is copy the "Engine" folder inside the CODEX folder which is inside the .iso file into the game folder after you ran setup.exe and surprise surprise the error doesn't show up anymore.
Ok so like ive noticed that this doesnt work for me but i found another way to solve this problem. When u start to run setup u have to allow "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir." and that should fix the problem.

if you download per parts, one of your parts are bad, if you downloaded by torrent, then it got corrupted while downloading, this can happen if you pause and resume downloads too much,
Corrupting a file on download is quite a specific problem since it doesnt really happen that often, just try to redownload the files,
if you did redownload the files, then my friend your pc might have a virus that cause your files to corrupt, or bad hard drive, check your hard drive health with Crystal Disk Mark.

its that price because its a aaa title, full game and comes with dlc. pretty much all aaa titles are 60 dollars and dlc usually fall around 10 dollars. i know you are gonna try to find some way to argue with that but its true and also worth it. i bought it the day it came out and am poor and have no regrets.
like i expected, square for some reason does not put denuvo on their games published on epic games, it was the same with kingdom hearts 3 and the collection
Is it just SPECIFICALLY the ones they put on the epic store? Cause I remember in some of the games they released on steam they didn't put Denuvo for like a day or so and then scramble to release a patch that adds denuvo
there are some games on steam that they don't put denuvo as well but i think they only don't put denuvo on smaller titles considering that even AA's like bravely default 2 and remasters like legend of mana got denuvo while even kingdom hearts 3 didn't got it
Finished playing thru and it worked just fine for me, 4k, locked at 60fps radeon 5700xt. Worked out of the box, used a gamepad, s'fine.
That said the actual game is basically a gorgeous mess and the only recommendation I can give it is "If you liked FF XIII but not XV you might like this. Maybe."
Credit where due, they used some of the absolutely too long game time now to do characterization a bit - everyone is at least a little better done. But the combat is bad, the entire game is in claustrophobic corridors that hide everything, the camera director for cutscenes makes these awesome vistas impossible to see because they seem to think we need expression closeup shots for almost everything, Roche, who's just a completely insane non sequitur and quite annoying. There are two quite long and unenjoyable bike races - their idea of balancing combat a bit against the player is "What if bosses were immune to damage like 80% of the fight and every enemy had unblockable stunners?" Which just gets dull. Even if you turn on 1-hit kill the boss battles take several minutes of cutscenes and invulnerable moments alone.
Nevermind that they dragged 3 hours of plot into 30 hours of game and you can really, really feel it.
The ending would have been cool - but I have no desire to play another game by this studio after this - the corridors alone are a dealbreaker, there's no way I would have finished it without playing VII as a small child - Dirge of Cerburus was a better designed game than this, and it literally had a lot of the same problems. Crisis Core, too. They also looked about as good (for the time). SE has, at best, been spinning its wheels for over a decade.
If you think the gameplay is bad, you are just plain and simple wrong. The biggest mistake Remake did was hiding the Hard Mode behind NG+
it takes the the difficulty of hard mode to highlight how complex and enjoyable the combat is. Players have to actually strategize their loadouts and builds, chain combos, use all available options that would get completely ignored on Normal Mode. Go watch some of the youtube guides going into detail about the combat for each character, it's incredibly underrated.
As a long time FF and JRPG fan, I am genuinely glad SE decided to ditch turn based combat and FF15 loose "action" combat, in favor of this technical beauty
I've seen the hard mode stuff and I played the game - I disagree. I found it dull, with far, far too much set-piece stuff that isn't actually combat dragging stuff out. And the binds, the binds are just irritating, even after I learned to dodge I resent that way of managing players because it's more irritating than killing me.
I'm not wrong, I'm just not you. We want different things.
Edit: Also after 40 hours getting to the end of the game and being thoroughly sick of it by , guess what I have no interest in doing? Even if Hard Mode truly feels better to play, I don't think so but let's say I would also be suddenly engaged by it -- I had to play hours to get there and I was so sick of the game I won't even play Yuffie's story, and she's my favourite FF VII character. That's such a bad move it'd actually be worse than if I'm right and I wouldn't enjoy Hard Mode either --- because either way, I'm not playing any more of this, I'm well done with it.
All that said, the two things that almost made me straight up quit were Roche and when I went looking to grind before the Wall Mart and realized this game doesn't have grinding. The uninteresting combat was expected, thus only being really annoyed by the binds and the long invulnerability periods.
Weird that you had huge problems with the combat, for me it was fine...maybe you should learn the combat?
Get the right Materia setup and do combos don't just hack and slash, you can easily Stagger and Pressure bosses to make them easier...the only long fights I had were the summon fights.
???...Disc 1 was beautifully redone in the remake. Every location had been enlarged on the scale to give you the feeling that Midgar and the Sector Slums were actually huge locations where classic could never really express these same places the same way it could like in the remake and making them all more detailed, more vibrant, and more colorful. The music in remake is also some top-notch stuff and I love every minute of it especially in their flac files. All enemies and bosses in classic had some sort of weakness or resistance, remake takes that up a notch and actually add immunity to make the easy fights you used to experience in classic into more difficult souls like fights in the remake. The remake gives you 2 tools to actually take on all enemies and bosses in the game, it's called the Access materia and the retry checkpoint function to properly gear up your party for the following fights.
The bike race in remake is more interesting than the dull one in classic.
As of right now FF7 Remake isn't even complete yet and we've only experienced Disc 1, it's way too early to judge the remake and give your final verdict.
When i start the game it says you should launch the game from epic launcher, but I don't have it because it's not figure in the library. How do I fix this?
I'm really surprised how this port is so well made ! The game is almost perfect with solid 120fps at 4K using DX12 i've already played 12 hours and got very little stutters like below 10ms or lower it's very rare when entering big places with many peoples and/or objects, during shader caching because i've installed the game on a hard drive instead of an SSD.
This don't annoys me at all. I have no audio issues at my side. Perhaps you need to lower the volume in the settings of the game because i noticed the voices were lower than the rest of the game so i put SFX, GAME SOUNDS and MUSIC to 6 and left voices to 10.
If only all the ports were this good.
Many users complained about the fact that this game is the first of a trilogy where the story is not completed, but for my own experience i just rediscovered the game in a new way. There are plenty of scenes and emotions we were not expecting, many of the original texts of the game are played during action instead of stopping everything (as on the original game) to let you read what they say. I didn't liked the FFXV but this one is a masterpiece.
You will not be wasting time downloading to be deceived. This game is a must play.
So well made? Come on, this port is horrible. Tons of glitches, performance issues, crashes, microstuttering, it's horribly made and this has been confirmed by just about everyone in the business.
In my case i have no performance issues expect those micro stuttering who are really rare and it's firstly because i've installed the game on a HDD instead of SSD. I didn't seen any glitches nor went into any crashes.
According to graphics i've set up in High, 4K, 120 fps i don't understand those having troubles with this game.
About really bad ports i have a keen list that don't work out of the box and with many performance issues more horrible than this one with even lower graphics.
I'm sorry if i'm false there, because i tested only on my rig so i don't know for others.
Yeah that's the other problem, inconsistency. People with super high end pcs are reporting massive issues and then you have people with mid range machines reporting no issues.

"Then get a ps5" yeah right cause ps5 are soooooooo easy to get right now, way to completely miss the point. OF COURSE people are going to complain when a game is ported to pc and the port is terrible and is missing tons of features and options that EVERY PC game should have, it shows a lack of care from the dev team and a huge lack of respect towards possible future customers. It works! yes a few texture issues and lack of gfx options but I just said screw it. Set all to low, tweeked some nvidia settings, used some GEForce exp filters got it to a rock solid 4K 60fps and just dove in. Was a huge fan of the original and am enjoying this update/remake so far 5hrs in. (I played many FFtitles including 15 and crisis core.) I will say it kinda looks PS3 but say what we will, do what we can, I let go of the negativity and just try to enjoy the game. Maybe they'll really get it all right in an anniversary edition or something. Still, Im liking it plenty. The combat is just as exciting as FF15. Teeny tiny bit chaotic but not so much that its completely overwhelming, the animations look great, the colors and effects. Some will throw rocks at me but, I think its a worthy update/remake. (8 hours in) I love the updated soundtracks of classic songs. All the characters are more vibrant and more fleshed out if a tad cliche but theres no escaping that when it comes to the japanese but it does make me feel like if you've watched a handful of dif anime series you've met every character in every other anime ever. to them they believe in something similar to MBTI and they stick to it to the point where its a bit of a cop out at times, also hurts more when its the same dozen or so voice actors for every production ever. But back to the game. Iz fun. Sorry (i mean that) if you have potato PC. But Im playing at 2K rez upscaled to 4K just fine with everything maxed and its runs perfectly. 60fps, i7 9700K 4ghz w/ RTX2080. There is a problem that I think people run into no matter what and thats crazy framerate drops at random, I noticed they seem to be loading the next area in certain places, if you pause and wait 20 or so seconds its jumps right back to rock solid 60 (doesnt happen that often at all.)(did happen once during a fight but I paused and waited and the prob disappeared.)(so that I might say is bad optimization, but outside of those load times the game is like 98% lag/stutter free.)

Make sure to install the "Dynamic Resolution Disabler" mod from NexusMods as otherwise the game will dynamically switch resolution depending on FPS cap.

It's an issue with the port itself, not your system. It doesn't happen too often to me, only happens in certain cutscenes but yeah it's super annoying.
Follow this: Go to 'virus and threat protection' > scroll to 'virus and threat protection settings' and Click it > manage folder/file access > click the Option with allow app > Add the 'ff7remake_.exe'
Any one else running into audio stuttering? after blowing up the reactor audio is just lagging GTX 1060 and 16GB ram with i7, could it just be I'm underspec'd?
For me it was that the game starts itself in 30fps. check gfx setting maybe lower some value and double check Hz rt. Im playing on High 2K 60fps with reshade bringing image quality up to 4k-like levels with things like clarity and sharpening

Been at barely 200 kB/S down all day meanwhile I'm uploading 30+ MB/s barely any seeds and tons of leachers. If I wasn't so heavily against the game's price I'd just go buy after downloading this game for over 7 hours and I'm barely at 17.5 GB downloaded.
I wanted to try this on my Intel HD Graphics, but after seeing a vídeo of this using a setting with Low Textures that was eating up 3Gb of VRAM, I better not even try.... LOL! 😁😆🤣
I mean the graphics are better, the gameplay is...different so it will depend on what you like more(Turn based or action RPG) but the story...my god the story. The changes they made did NOT work IMHO. Plus they blew their Sephiroth load WAY too quickly. Oh and the fact that it's episodic was the dumbest change they made with this imho
It's great for what it is - but bad for a remake. They took the word "remake" way too serious in this one. It's almost the same story but relived again with a new twist. Same shit but different. Fans replayed that game so much and wanted a remake so badly that I kinda already felt like something like this would happen - they even put some kind of entity into the game that tries to keep things as they were. Don't expect the old FF7 and you will be good.
It's divisive. I think it blows, played on the PS4. The entire thing reeks of a cash grab from SE that couldn't figure out what made the original ff7 so good. Which was the story.
Yup, it's only Midgar now and they redoing everything at the end in a weird thing of time space traveling (thanks Nomura). Why couldn't they stick to the original story?
i dont think its a bad decision to expand the story with time traveling etc if doing correctly. In my opinion, I really enjoyed the whole game when I played it in ps4. Its a great twist if they know what they are doing for the next game
This isn't what most people expected, I certainly didn't want that. And if you know Nomura and his work in Kingdom Hearts you know how much the story is convoluted with him. I expect something terrible.

Well I can see where you're coming from, it's more fresh to have the story revisited. But I think they could have kept the original story with added thing (like Genesis from Crisis core etc).

Game works fine so far but I can not change the language. So is it just me or is the language folder missing? Internet gives me a path for a EOS folder whitch is not included...

FYI MicroStutter FIX: In the Games Folder: Games\Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade\Engine\Binaries\Third Party\EOS->open epic_emu.ini with notepad/texteditor and change AppName=FFVIIRemakeIntergrade to AppName=FFVIIRemakeIntergrade -dx11(just adding -dx11 with 1 space between). That should fix it ,if not enough + playing windowsmode also can help. Also check mods in Nexusmods or Reddit(providing performance files),it will help you alot improving your Gameplay
Thumbs down on the video for wasting my fucking time, it's a completely useless video showcasing the update. The turning the camera hitching still exist and is apparent as soon as you get to Sector 7 slums. Even prior to the update there was no real hitching when you turn your camera around outside of Sector 7 Slums.

Hi, do you use any mod? Can try No TAA. Mod can be found at Nexus https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7remake You cant do anything with Dynamic resolution, it aim to reach the capped FPS. So you will face some blur pixel when get into some complex environment. If your spec is powerful enough to handle the game, I recommend you to Disable Dynamic resolution too, Mod can be found at Nexus too.
You can delete those zip you downloaded, and the installer file. Just leave the game folder is good enough. However, if you face issue that need to reinstall the game, badly to say that you need spend time to redownload all the part and unzip them again xD
Haven't played but if they did a poor port, it feels safe to assume they don't want PC people to enjoy the game as they favour consoles. Just ignore and and move on until a good port comes. I am saying this for all actually, while hating console only games, true, but shouldn't game and game devs want everyone to enjoy their games? No matter console or PC or mac? or whatever? If I made a game my self personally I would want everyone to be able to play it.. Is this just me? The more the better even? When will the world get it

Marketing 101, the more consumers you can get the better. If you try to limit you better have a fucking good product or it won't sell.
And PC has far more options for consumers than ps5 or such has, you can buy controller etc many times but also edit, mods, cheats are more worthwhile..
In my case it got worse with this dxvk got stuttering almost every 5-10 seconds. Without it i have almost no stutters. Althrough the game in DX11 is awful but i'm sure it helps some people because many got good results with it.
I got the same issue but somehow i fix this glitch so i can progress the story.
At first i got same problem on the picture and got fatal error notification several times, i got frustrated, until i try again and skip the cutscene right after cloud would jump into the vent, then i got glitch again like in the picture but in different position, so i keep going forward until cloud hit the vent in the front and somehow cloud get in to the vent and the glitch is fixed and i can progress the story.

Thats not low spec. I'm playing on an AMD a8 5600k w/ GT 1030. - Installed the mode, playing on DX11, 720p res, capped 30fps, disabled vsync and AA on the nvidia driver. Works perfectly. Some stutters on crowded areas but, its playable. Been waiting for this for ages.

Works perfectly, took me few hours to download everything. 5800x + RTX 3080, everything maxed out no problem, no lag or freeze. game is really good to watch the story, so sad there's photo mode but u cant take any photo unless u screenshot LOL

don't even bother with this. there are NO graphics options like toggling motion blur, depth of field, field of view, ambient occlusion. no dlss or ray tracing. no unlocked framerate. nothing higher then 120hz. final fantasy 15 was a godsend with graphics options galore, a benchmark mode, AND dlss support (as well as nvidia hairworks) ALL OF THAT IS GONE HERE. SQUARE GIMPED THE CRAP OUT OF THE PC PORT AND WAN;PTS TO CHARGE $70. THIS ISN;T EVEN WORTH DOWNLOADING HERE!
unless you have a PC build 6 years ago with a Office GPU , it should run close to perfect overall the game is not that demanding ,(even seen a RX470 4 GB run this game at high settings)

LOL...this remake is refreshing and lots of characters actually have personality to them compared to classic. The music is AMAZING. DLSS and Raytracing is useless for majority of the people that still haven't gotten RTX gpus. Benchmark tool is useless for majority of the people that don't care about shit like that.
Since this game uses UE4, you can easily create a pak files with a tool to alleviate most of the non-existing game setting toggles. The beauty of FF7 Remake on pc gives you the ability to mod the game yourself right now.
Just like how FF15 pc release was pretty garbage in the beginning it was updated with additional features at a later date.

So I've extracted the whole thing again and noticed that Part 12 was broken for me. So I redownloaded it, followed the steps in the video AND installed in safe mode. For me this was the solution!

Finaly can run the game, but still has a problem, every cut scene will freeze and skip, including the intro when an eagle flyng,it stop right at the start and skip to the soldier at a train got hit by avalanche, then the cut scene when the reactor blow,and cloud flashback about the nibelheim get burn...every cut scene, its will freeze right when the cut scene start....damn

...Yes, there was. FF7 Remake was the previous version. This one is FF7 Remake INTERGRADE, which has upgraded visuals and contains INTERmission, where you can play as Yuffie.
There was no previous FF7 remake release for pc, the intergrade version is literally just the ps4/ps5 with the yuffie dlc content included with the base game as a whole pc release.

After carefully reading the instructions our precious mod here shared, I found out that all you need to do is copy the "Engine" folder inside the CODEX folder which is inside the .iso file into the game folder after you ran setup.exe and surprise surprise the error doesn't show up anymore.

Corrupting a file on download is quite a specific problem since it doesnt really happen that often, just try to redownload the files,
if you did redownload the files, then my friend your pc might have a virus that cause your files to corrupt, or bad hard drive, check your hard drive health with Crystal Disk Mark.

That said the actual game is basically a gorgeous mess and the only recommendation I can give it is "If you liked FF XIII but not XV you might like this. Maybe."
Credit where due, they used some of the absolutely too long game time now to do characterization a bit - everyone is at least a little better done. But the combat is bad, the entire game is in claustrophobic corridors that hide everything, the camera director for cutscenes makes these awesome vistas impossible to see because they seem to think we need expression closeup shots for almost everything, Roche, who's just a completely insane non sequitur and quite annoying. There are two quite long and unenjoyable bike races - their idea of balancing combat a bit against the player is "What if bosses were immune to damage like 80% of the fight and every enemy had unblockable stunners?" Which just gets dull. Even if you turn on 1-hit kill the boss battles take several minutes of cutscenes and invulnerable moments alone.
Nevermind that they dragged 3 hours of plot into 30 hours of game and you can really, really feel it.
The ending would have been cool - but I have no desire to play another game by this studio after this - the corridors alone are a dealbreaker, there's no way I would have finished it without playing VII as a small child - Dirge of Cerburus was a better designed game than this, and it literally had a lot of the same problems. Crisis Core, too. They also looked about as good (for the time). SE has, at best, been spinning its wheels for over a decade.
it takes the the difficulty of hard mode to highlight how complex and enjoyable the combat is. Players have to actually strategize their loadouts and builds, chain combos, use all available options that would get completely ignored on Normal Mode. Go watch some of the youtube guides going into detail about the combat for each character, it's incredibly underrated.
As a long time FF and JRPG fan, I am genuinely glad SE decided to ditch turn based combat and FF15 loose "action" combat, in favor of this technical beauty

Edit: Also after 40 hours getting to the end of the game and being thoroughly sick of it by , guess what I have no interest in doing? Even if Hard Mode truly feels better to play, I don't think so but let's say I would also be suddenly engaged by it -- I had to play hours to get there and I was so sick of the game I won't even play Yuffie's story, and she's my favourite FF VII character. That's such a bad move it'd actually be worse than if I'm right and I wouldn't enjoy Hard Mode either --- because either way, I'm not playing any more of this, I'm well done with it.
All that said, the two things that almost made me straight up quit were Roche and when I went looking to grind before the Wall Mart and realized this game doesn't have grinding. The uninteresting combat was expected, thus only being really annoyed by the binds and the long invulnerability periods.
Get the right Materia setup and do combos don't just hack and slash, you can easily Stagger and Pressure bosses to make them easier...the only long fights I had were the summon fights.
The bike race in remake is more interesting than the dull one in classic.
As of right now FF7 Remake isn't even complete yet and we've only experienced Disc 1, it's way too early to judge the remake and give your final verdict.
The game is almost perfect with solid 120fps at 4K using DX12 i've already played 12 hours and got very little stutters like below 10ms or lower it's very rare when entering big places with many peoples and/or objects, during shader caching because i've installed the game on a hard drive instead of an SSD.
This don't annoys me at all. I have no audio issues at my side. Perhaps you need to lower the volume in the settings of the game because i noticed the voices were lower than the rest of the game so i put SFX, GAME SOUNDS and MUSIC to 6 and left voices to 10.
If only all the ports were this good.
Many users complained about the fact that this game is the first of a trilogy where the story is not completed, but for my own experience i just rediscovered the game in a new way. There are plenty of scenes and emotions we were not expecting, many of the original texts of the game are played during action instead of stopping everything (as on the original game) to let you read what they say. I didn't liked the FFXV but this one is a masterpiece.
You will not be wasting time downloading to be deceived. This game is a must play.
According to graphics i've set up in High, 4K, 120 fps i don't understand those having troubles with this game.
About really bad ports i have a keen list that don't work out of the box and with many performance issues more horrible than this one with even lower graphics.

It's almost the same story but relived again with a new twist. Same shit but different. Fans replayed that game so much and wanted a remake so badly that I kinda already felt like something like this would happen - they even put some kind of entity into the game that tries to keep things as they were.
Don't expect the old FF7 and you will be good.

FYI MicroStutter FIX: In the Games Folder:

You cant do anything with Dynamic resolution, it aim to reach the capped FPS. So you will face some blur pixel when get into some complex environment. If your spec is powerful enough to handle the game, I recommend you to Disable Dynamic resolution too, Mod can be found at Nexus too.
Just ignore and and move on until a good port comes.

At first i got same problem on the picture and got fatal error notification several times, i got frustrated, until i try again and skip the cutscene right after cloud would jump into the vent, then i got glitch again like in the picture but in different position, so i keep going forward until cloud hit the vent in the front and somehow cloud get in to the vent and the glitch is fixed and i can progress the story.

My storage is 529 GB so it should be fine
However some part file may have issue. the problem is that since the error doesn't said which part it really hard for me to know which part I need to redownload. Unless there a way for me check it.

Since this game uses UE4, you can easily create a pak files with a tool to alleviate most of the non-existing game setting toggles. The beauty of FF7 Remake on pc gives you the ability to mod the game yourself right now.
Just like how FF15 pc release was pretty garbage in the beginning it was updated with additional features at a later date.
