I was thinking of giving this a try, since I haven't played a decent city builder in a long, long time...but then I saw "roguelike", and my anus prolapsed in disappointment, like a droopy old tattered wind-sock.
Fuck sake game devs, not everything has to be a roguelike, have multiplayer or feature pixel art!
or have card-based gameplay, vampire survival-like gameplay, romance whoever-the-fudge you want gameplay, waifu-gatcha like gameplay, I could go all day naming these. Yes its obvious some genre's are milked due to what's trending, but I feel there are a lot of players who do indeed dig this stuff. Either that or they are being mentally influenced into playing these.
it is actually a fun one, each map is a challenge and race to finish while keep queen's patience in check, and the area you completed will become a trade supplier in future surronding map, which might come in big clutch. Do be warned it is not easy or relaxing though.
It's pretty good. Kinda basic village builder with the spin that you build them up to a certain point and then build another somewhere else. You get meta currency and unlock buffs for the villages you will build, like more resources, stuff like that.
What I found annoying is that in my first game after the tutorial I had 3 missions that I could not complete due to how the game is random (you unlock even your producing buildings randomly chosen from 3) and I had to produce luxury goods but had no building that could do so. Thankfully there was a plan B, you can open resource caches and can choose to keep the resources or sell them back to the capital, I only needed tools for that, but couldn't produce those either. So I waited for traders to bring me some and then I could win the game.
It's pretty fun if frustrating. I would def wait until it's finished as I don't see myself replaying it a lot since all the maps are basically replays as well.
i was playing the v.0.17.3E and i just downloaded the v.017.6E and still got my saved game. Does anyone know if i delete the old v.0.17.3E will i lose my saved files? what files are the saves and can i copy-paste them on the new version?
Your save games file isn't part of the game folder. Your saves reside at %userprofile%\appdata\locallow\Eremite Games. I have updated 3 times, by just deleting the old folder and replacing it with the updated version. *NOTE .017.6E is an experimental version and has a seperate save file. I kept both versions .015.7R & .017.6E. You can play either version as they both have different executable files.
The game has a new update that came out back in Dec. The current game version is 0.14.5R - found it in the against the storm discord channel for updates and patches. Can we have an update?
As of today, this is ver 0.9.15R, which is the original release. They have added the Cursed update and Quality of Life update since then. I will request an update, but since it's an Epic Games title, might not get it.
I bought the game after playing demo. It's really good and not that easy. First 2 maps are easy, because they are like tutorial, but after that... it's really a matter of good strategy based on what you find. The best game I have played in last 2 years.
Hard at first (not counting 2 first maps - tutorial ones). I bought it and for me it's a really good game. Strategy counts, not easy to win. Strategy is different every map - depends of resources you get. You also are upgrading your citadel, that makes it a bit easier every try. It's totally not roguelike - it's a good strategy game.

This is a really fun city building sim
This ... quite hard strategy game ... (yeah, I'm suck in strategy game)
Have good gameplay ... (but unfortunately still Early Access)
Seems good on paper but "rogue like like Slay the Spire" tend to be tasteless
If you're looking for a roguelike, I found critadel to be quite more interesting.
