Tried the game only to see how overprice it is. It's good, that's just it.

The game almost has no plots, almost no battle animation, or diversity between characters. To be honest, the dungeon is not even randomized, making this feels less worthy. There are even lacks of polish in the game (like, a dungeon crawling game without a map, or even a place to take note). Look at Atrian Odyssey! It has the same concept, with many quality stuffs to not make the game drags on forever. The only shining here is the battle tactics, but since it takes only 1% of game time and 99% is you grinding the low level enemies and getting lost in the dungeon, I don't think it is good.

Overall, if this game is 10 euros, I think I will consider buy it. Hell, if its graphic is not this unique, I think it is only 5 euros at best.

One stupid thing here, the order is reversed. Instead of X Y Z, it is Z Y X, which is annoying af. I am not Japanese, at least when localize this game, know the other country's standard? How can Square even misses this basic mistake?

This guy describes the game better than I do so I'll have his review posted down here. As far as my playtime go, I admit that the price is a bit overpricing but is a good game nonetheless and there's sale until 29th October, just 20% off.

Creed 28.9 hrs
POSTED: 21 OCTOBER
This game is not for the feint of heart. This game is not for people who want to play an RPG where you easily overgear/overlevel the enemies and can just coast your way through a narrative. It will not baby you, spoon feed your answers, or hold your hand. What story that is there is mostly a background, given to you through a quick paragragh at the beginning and pieced together through character bios. The deck is stacked against you. You can (and probably will) see your entire party get K.O.'d, Petrified, Banished, or Devoured whole. And you'll probably want some pen and paper to take notes. (My note: use Notepad to write down the coordinates of the location where the stairs to go up and down is, some exclusive shop, hidden events and more. They're helpful more so when you have the Teleport skill)

So why recommend this?

What starts off as the appearance of a "barebones RPG" hides a leviathan of depth mechanically few games out there will ever achieve. The deeper into the labyrinth you go the more unique and challenging the game becomes, even while maintaining the appearance of a simplistic and minimalist design. I have almost 30 hours into this title and i'm not even half way done. I've beaten and shelved $60 games in half that time, so if you are looking for a difficult game that will certainly give you a run for your money to beat you'll want this game.

Pros:
-Beautiful Art
-Increasingly more challenging the deeper you go
-Unique dungeon crawling mechanics
-Can't outgear/outlevel enemies by design (My note: you have to beat the closest enemy level strength to you to get better items or solve puzzles to get free powerful items. Even then, you have to have a sufficiently 'leveled' character to do anything with said gear/items at all or just throw defenses away to blast low level enemies easily. And or hunt the remaining high level character with the Wanderer Tracking ability, its easier that way.)
-Completionist wet-dream reward systems
-polished, I haven't ran into a single bug/glitch (My note: Except that the Auto Advance feature is not usable for me for some reasons, tried different way to activate it, but with no luck.
-characters can have unique equipment adding diversity to builds

Con:
-while the sound/music quality is great, it lacks quantity and diversity. definitely a miss but not a game breaker
-characters not in the party don't get experience. meaning if you find a unique piece of equipment for someone who's like level 2 and you want to use it, gotta go and get them leveled. Not that difficult to do and personally not an issue, but i know there will be people who gripe about it so I got to be fair and note it.

Here's some screensho of my 50+ hours of gameplay

My take for the review:

  • Sound and music: its lack of quantity is not a problem. It is a game focus on minimalism, so it does not need to. However, its QUALITY is a problem. Most of the song from this game are just remixes from other songs (for example, the victory song is actually Farandole from L'Arlésienne by Bizet or the Town Theme is actually Pathetique piano sonata by Beethoven). Maybe it is also my taste, but electric guitar on classical music in this game COMPLETELY DESTROYS THE SONG. They want to copy Persona, but boy, they have this wrong.
  • Characters not in party not get experiences: why is this a con? I do not get it. Most of square enix's games are like this and nobody finds a problem with it. Moreover, its system allows you to equip high-grade gear for low lvl character also makes it bearable.
Pros:

  • Can't outgear and HAVE TO GRIND: it's dumb. Grind is just optional when you are not experienced enough to strategize and beat high level enemies. If you force players to grind, it's a job, not a game anymore.
  • Completionist shet: again, it's for the hardcore. Persona 3 is hard, but you do not have to 100% explore every single floor for completionism or stuffs. In this game, if you do not 100% complete, you may miss a crucial ability (like how I miss my ability to evade Fortifide and it becomes unbearable in later floors). Also, 100% completionist does not make this game a 'dungeon crawler'. It becomes a 'dungeon destruction' because you have to destroy every single floor.
  • Prepare a paper to take note: like, are you f***king kidding me? What if I want to play this game on my 4K TV with controllers? What if I want to play this game on Switch? Why do I need a notepad for this? Why the game does not have a notepad feature to itself? Look at Etrian Odyssey franchise, they do this way better than this game. Its lack of quality-of-life feature does not mean it is nostalgia or clever. It just means they are stupid and do not learn anything from the game in the past.
  • 30 euros: each 5 euros is paid for a bunch of mediocre features, or a high-developed feature. That's why games like Persona 5 or Monster Hunter is expansive. They have quality, quantity of contents and polished. The only quality part in this game is just smooth engine and graphic. 10-15 euros at most!
So yeah, most of the points here are stupid and the writer may not learn about game development. Trust me, if there is another game released and have these points fixed, they will 100% better than this game.

And my controller does not have that much luck with Unity games, just wanted to let someone know that I've been enjoying my time with the game, especially hunting some exquisite items, they're pain in my soul. Again, the price is not ok but the game is, at least for me.
