I tried it and this version is... extremely buggy. You can lose all progress by a message box, lost a very talented cultist from one mission, shadows and floor from deleted objects and buildings that never disappear...
My own experience is just the shadows not disappearing, while the rest are reports on the steam's bug report discussion Seems like it may vary depending on the device, but saving often seem to be the safe thing to do for now.
