god this game kinda yucky, i got into like the first big eroge parts and just couldnt stomach it. I guess if you are into orcs or something but this game is just like horny heaven. I had to just delete it off my computer and rinse my mind out. Rem is a cute waifu though, shame.
Well I didn't expect it to be a fun game, lol. I was looking for 'another shitty H-RPGM', but seems like this one is a golden shit. Yes it's still shit, BUT IT'S GOLDEN!
The protagonist Okubo Tatsuya is a 35-year-old convenience store clerk. He is an introvert, has no friends. And his favorite thing is playing games at home. 90% of the regulars here.
That time that visual cancer didn't get the visual cancer tag but all of the soylents weren't fooled and they knew a good old talky chatty titty no gameplayie game when they see it!
Nope, I thought it sucked. Just another typical Mary-Sue protagonist anime, and the most interesting character was killed off after just a few episodes.
I think the thing that bothered me the most was the way the protagonist acts. I mean, he was a normal 40 years old in his previous life but he certainly doesn't act or think like that after his reincarnation... It just feels so unnatural and weird. Not to mention he looks and sounds as a girl now
It definitely gets better, now that theres a season 2 thats currently getting released every tuesday. And sure, Rimuru Tempest definitely acts weird for a salary man in his past life but i guess they are just having the time of his life being a mary sue lmao. Besides, Their Mary sueness adds to it, as future fight scenes while you know Rimuru is gonna win in the end, its still against equal opponents rather than just a one and done deal. Also shizue wasnt really all that interesting, she was just kinda shoved into the plot Also they sounds like a girl cuz they literally ate a girl. As a Tensura fan, im willing to go on this for a good hour or so but i respect your points nonetheless.
I get you like it, so I don't really want to get into any arguments, but I guess it's just really not for me. I've dropped even Youjo Senki, despite the fact the protagonist acted way more masculine and manly (since he was, after all, a man his whole life) than this Rimuru. I was just simply bothered by the fact that a completely normal man became a little girl. I was never into this "gender bender" thing even in hentai/doujins. I think it might be maybe targeted mainly towards these non-binary or trans people that are so popular nowdays, so I guess that's perhaps the reason why I don't get it. Anyway, even ignoring the fact I don't get how can a normal grown man start suddenly act like this, I think that I also didn't like how cartoonish it was. Some episodes were just filled with horsing around and others were disproportionately serious... And the artstyle, especially the "monsters" really didn't fit at all. Everything just looks like it was took straight from some gag anime But everyone has different tastes, so I get some people might actually really like it. And it's obvious the protagonist is always gonna win in the end, I don't have any problems with it. 99% of fantasy (especially isekai) series are like this (I can think just of 3 where the protagonist isn't the strongest in the world)
Interestingly, in Youjo Senki, it was a way for Sonzai X (the God) to humiliate him. So, I kinda like the genderbent existed not just because but for a reason quite relevant to the plot. And regarding the genderbent genre, well it is a popular trope after all and already existed for a long time. So yeah, I can see some might not interested in such.
I'm not looking for arguments, don't worry. I'm not a damn internet gremlin. First off, Rimuru aka the protagonist is canonically completely genderless, and actually still identifies himself as a man and wants people to refer to him as one (Though if you carry on watching, i'm guessing you wont be a big fan of Slime diaries since that's a spin off anime where all they do is just clown around, and rimuru becomes more feminine and "Kawaii desu" and all that.) Second, that's a good point but I don't really think it was targeted to those kinda people. Sure There's plenty of females amongst a very big group of muscly men (so maybe its supposed to evoke something?) Its just mostly a "shut your brain off and enjoy the animation and story" since the premise of Rimuru building an entire city out of a tiny goblin village is an extremely interesting premise to somebody, including me. It definitely has its moments here and there, but its not something that'll totally captivate you as Im not an avid watcher (that just might be contributed to me not watching anime, and this doesn't seem like your taste.) And yeah the cast is just essentially a bunch a fuckin jokers, if you saw later on theres a cast of Oni girls and males that get recruited due to "RIMURU'S AWESHMONESS" and whatever, one of them is legit just a stereotype of the busty secretary who cant cook for shit along with the males just being flat out op as well. I mean, the only real captivating character that comes to mind is Veldora, who actually frees himself and becomes more of a "Muscly gym bro big brother" with the iq to boot. Season 2 definitely has alot more narrative stake, but it isnt gonna enthrall you whatsoever if you arent interested in Rimuru's escapades since it never really gets into arcs about another nation's problems. Its focused entirely on Rimuru. Dont worry, i feel your pain. It's isekai season right now so story is definitely taking a major backseat. Theres definitely some isekai out there that dont follow these tropes and i recommend snooping there if you are actually interested in the Isekai genre. And honestly, for this send off. Alot of people are just rimuru simps. Im in the official discord and yeah... We see them and a bunch of others on the daily man, its definitely made me rethink some things haha. Hopefully this doesnt come off too harsh, if you got anything to throw back at me say so. sorry for writing this whole damn stupid essay. TL:DR: Your opinions are right, but the cast and the "story" can hook people in since its main message is "Anybody can be a friend or an ally, no matter what shape or size" or something along that nature.
