Reminder: copy the three steam_ files in the CODEX folder into the folder with the game and replace whatever files. (The CODEX folder can be found in the DVD drive the setup created) Run the directX installer if you need to. If the game says it cannot create save data at the beginning: allow the game program through controlled folder access Hopefully there are no gameplay issues, and thank you so much for this game! Will support the devs when I can because the Ace Attorney series is amazing!
where is everyone getting the other files mentioned in this comment thread? (directx, tgaac.exe) when i downloaded from anonfiles it only had the codex am i missing something?
apparently there's something happening in download phase most likely the server or your inet connection that corrupt the file. Try download from gdrive, anonfiles or torrent, had no issues download from there
Can anyone help? Everytime I want to open it, it always says bad image and my steam_api64.dll is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error?
did u checklist 'Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir' prior installation? if not try copy anything inside CODEX folder into ur game directory.
Have you tried using this? The game is capped at 30 fps. Try downloading this (http://dgs_hackfix_v8.zip), place DINPUT8.dll and dgs.ini in same folder as TGAAC.exe, then run the game. Adjust configuration in dgs.ini if necessary. To uninstall just delete DINPUT8.dll. https://github.com/AdmiralCurtiss/dgs_hackfix/releases
Oh, I've already tried this before. I don't think it's the game, I think it's my PC. I often get times where the game freezes and the audio glitches for three seconds, then goes back to normal. Increasing the FPS cap just merely makes the game run smoother when it runs like normal for me. It's not unplayable, mind you. It's just annoying. It happens most often during dialogue when sound effects occur. And animated cutscenes lag like crazy.
Is The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve included? There seem to be only 5 episodes, not 10, so I'm not sure.. Edit! Who's a dumbass? This guy <----. For those who are concerned about how to get GAA2 to show up, press the directional keys where it says 'New Game', to scroll between the two games.
Can someone help me? why when I launched my game it's instantly just close without showing anything, I've installed everything from the game, like directx and the other but still not working, and I've copied those codex files but still same.. :(
maybe you can try run the game as admin and don't forget to turn off any antivirus (especially windows defender). As a safe precaution perhaps you can also copy the crack manually to the installation folder instead of doing it automatically from the installer
Done that but still the same :( I already turned off the windows defender, firewalls, then reinstall it again, and then I also updated the vga drivers but still the same, even copying the crack manually, anyway, thanks DmZ for your help
Hi. I started the game but for some reason it instantly closes while the game is starting up. no credits, no beginning, nothing. Can anyone help me please?
hate that you still can't change the volume, only on or off. We're in 2021 guys please. (also does someone knows if sound effect is just the annoying text sound or will I miss others things ?)
sure was for the 3ds, but it was japan exclusive. this is the first time this 2 games get an official translation and worldwide release. Game being in HD is just the cherry on top
does this have better translation than the fanmade english translation? i mean the fanmade one was good, but it doesn't have that charming puns that AA had.
DirectX11? looks like something with your graphics card drivers, are the drivers updated and properly working? (is your graphics card's control panel present in context menu (when you right click on desktop), can you access said control panel) Checking the DXDiag wouldn't be a bad idea either (especially the Display/Render tab)
[WIN10] Go to All Settings -> Windows Security -> Virus & threat protection -> Manage settings -> Manage Controlled folder access -> Turn off Controlled folder access OR Allow an app through Controlled folder access then add TGAAC.exe from ur game directory(recommended) OR simply grant access via taskbar notification prior installation-first time play then restart the game(recommended). These game from these website contain no virus(no detected by windef & my secondary anti-virus) its from your Controlled folder access that windows offer to block any kind app from accessing folder that protected by Controlled folder access function(default location: C:\Users'PC-Name'\Documents). This function will let you know every time app access got blocked via notification bar(beside the date & time).
You technically don't even need to play The Ace Attorney trilogy (or the spinoff and sequel games @kanatakkun's comment mentioned) before playing or understanding these ones, since The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (as it is now FINALLY the OFFICIALLY translated name) duology is technically a prequel to The Ace Attorney series, since it is set in the past of said series (19th century Japan as opposed to 20th/21st century Japan), but none of the the characters in TGAA are related to any of TAA characters (as far as I know). Except for the protagonist, Ryunosuke Naruhodo - Phoenix Wright's ancestor. Fun fact, Phoenix Wright's (the protagonist of The Ace Attorney series) original name in Japanese was Ryuichi Naruhodo, hence the name of his ancestor being Ryunosuke Naruhodo.
The trilogy itself isn't a very must since DGS is with different cast, but there are some spin-off of the original trilogy that can played in this order, that you might want to play.
AA Investigations Miles Edgeworth 1-2, this one has a bit of exploring and examining stuff. (Mobile, DS)
AA Apollo Justice, new lie-identifying mechanic (Mobile, DS)
AA Dual Destiny, new psychological mechanic (Mobile, 3DS)
AA Spirit of Justice, new insight / visual testimony from the dead mechanic (Mobile, 3DS)
Awesome, thanks for the explanation as well as the list! I played the trilogy but haven't had the opportunity to check the side games. Would you happen to know a reliable website where I can download the mobile apks for them? I've been looking around but couldn't find anything. Worst case scenario I'll download a DS/3DS emulator.
You're welcome! But I have to apologize, the two sites that I used to download mobile ones before aren't up anymore... All I remember is for Dual Destiny's obb+apk size is 554MB, while Spirit of Justice is 777MB.
Unfortunately doesn't seem to work for me, booting up the exe begins the game process but after that nothing happens. Just the game on my taskbar and nothing else. Anybody else having this issue whatsoever?
I dunno, the original Phoenix Wright games are far from perfect and are capable of being improved upon, I'm holding out hope that these games exceed it
I've found Codex Folders (contained.... steam_api64, steam_api.dll, steam_emu) I have to copy those 3 files to replace the installed directory and it worked! thx
Not only you can select the second game directly, you can just select ANY part of ANY chapter from both games as if you already completed it. You can quite literally just enter the final scene from the second game, if you so wish. I already read the FanTL for the first 3 chapters of the second game, so this was a huge life saver, holy shit.
Knowing the series' writing, I expect that Kazuma, who is the protagonist's friend and lawyer in the first case, is likely to be the victim in a murder case that happens later.
this is localization version meaning you wouldn't find any japanese text, if you looking for jap text then you gotta play the 3DS version of these game
Story-wise, no, you're not gonna miss anything. Gameplay-wise, yes but just a bit. The previous games (or just the first AA) are simpler and easier (in my experience), by playing them you can feel more familiar in methods to solve the story in this one. Or you can just begin from this one, it's no problem.
No. Also... this game is set in past eras, if the screenshots do not suggest so already. Hard to see how experience with previous games are required for understanding the narrative if there is an obvious time-gap that harks to the past.
If you would make a video of close to half an hour, that means that the game is interesting enough. Also, 13:25. Oh grud, that's so Naruhodo alright. Such a bumbling fool like his descendant would be, stumbling his way through somehow.
nope its totally silent, my gpu doesnt get very high temps (50-60 ° C) because i have the air conditioner close to the pc plus 2 fans who refresh the apartment very well, its quite freezing but better that than the horrible heat who is a living hell
So uh...I'm getting the '0xc000007b' error even though my PC is supposed to be able to run this game. Does anyone have any idea as to why??
I do have an Intel Core i3-1005G1 instead of an i5-6300U but the CYRI website implied that it's fine so I'm not really sure if that's the problem.

Help guys... i can't seem to extract it...

i was expecting this to be +60 fps for pc like the released trilogy
Not because of your graphics card of course :), but because of what you like to play.
this would be gold in the early 2000-2010s era
i even push the limits to see how powerful is the 1080ti

just imagine how it would be inside here if outside max temp is 40-45°C
