Fidding with controller settings in big picture mode is one way to fix it slightly but there's no ["] which acts as a single key on my keyboard so I can't use it (in any way in-game) nor remap it to the controller
Terrible new menus
One window border (Not even a simple black border available)
No remote play
Priced at $14.99/£11.39/12,49€; an obvious cash-grab And from me :
Emulation is not even accurate, like so many so-called "emulated" games on Steam. Stick to Snes9x, Bsnes, or Retroarch.
No realistic CRT filters is unacceptable for Megadrive / Super Famicom games. Nowadays, it's easy to add this feature in any game.
Loved this game as a kid. I've been following this guy's ZAMN total conversion for Doom II and although it only has a few levels so far he's totally nailed the feel of the original game, but now it's in 3D. Check it: https://www.moddb.com/mods/zombies-doomed-my-neighbors-mod
This mod is such a must-have, for both Doom and ZAMN fans. It's not finished yet but already so cool. Definitely in my top 5 favorite Doom mods ever made.
Loved this game when I was younger played the hell out of it on the SNES but why rerelease it as an exactly the same game looks so dated if you're going to rerelease a game that's nearly 30 years old at least do something new with it HD graphics or an updated version similarly what they did with Alex Kidd or Wonderboy.
This used to be my JAM when I was a kid back in the 90's. My sister got it for me, she used to buy a game for me now and then that our mom didn't approve of or wouldn't let me have whenever they got marked down, or the used price became cheap enough. I didn't think I'd like this one at first, seeing the box.. But after I played it, my opinion changed instantly and it became my favorite game I ever played on Genesis (It had a Genesis version too, not just SNES.) Not just that, but I could play it with my friends because it was 2 player, and it quickly became a neighborhood favorite, if not THE neighborhood favorite multiplayer game for me and my friends. This port looks awful though, honestly you're probably better off emulating it, lol. I wish they'd make one of those consoles you can just plug in to a TV with this loaded in its library, along with a few other actual good titles, like Toejam and Earl, Joe and Mac, Rocky Rodent, Shining Force 1 and 2, etc.
It's possible to hack the Megadrive Mini to add every game in existence. But I haven't tried with mine, I'm too afraid to "brick" it. I'm not an expert about such things. Other than that, you can always try to get an original Megadrive (maybe you do already?), and it's possible to get this game on Ebay, it's not too expensive. But then, you need a OSSC adapter or something like this so you can play it on a modern TV. Nothing beats the original experience! he he And yeah, although opinions seem to be divided in these comments, this game is freaking great for me.
Meh, I want that freedom of being able to just have the games stored in the darn controller, and be able to just plug a couple AV cables in and play. They're easy enough to load ROMs on yourself if you know what you're doing, prolly easier than an actual SEGA product... Speaking of abusing "property rights" lol, I always wanted to rip all the sprites from this game and make an action RPG out of it, but copyright claims are a dime a dozen these days even if you aren't monetizing. Plus RPG Maker games flooding the market killed the desire for me.. They seem lame now, but they had a certain flare back in the early 2K's.. Before that, a lot of amateur "developers" used stuff like Byond to make MMORPG's rife with copyright infringement (A lot of DBZ fan games lol) I tried to do it on that but couldn't get the assistance I needed.. I think Byond is still running today.. I used to make sprites for this guy named Aaiko, for a game called Seika on Byond, ironically it's the most popular game on there now.. Haha, and he's even still using some of my little kid artwork. I was 13 then, I'm 33 now... What a trip.. This upload and the comments are really taking me down memory lane..
You'd think they could have added some screen filters so the graphics don't look so bland. Scanlines and CRT effects would have been a blessing for the eyes.
Not sure why you got downvoted. Such old games have very low resolution and looks much better with CRT filters. Personally, I'll stick to the original games with Retroarch or Snes9x.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but doesn't RetroArch give you the option to have the CRT/scanline filter for that old-school feel? That or eff around with ReShade.
This game suddently turned into a cult game for no reason, However, it is a mediocre game. It is repetitive and it's worse if we consider that it consist in more than 50 levels. Meh, considering that it was a snes game and snes had a lot of games better in every aspect (gameplay, music, story, characters, style, etc.)
This game has a catchy title, zombies still were a novelty, it has a strong "personality" and sense of humor, simultaneous co-op works pretty well too. The only problem is that it starts getting repetitive around 15 levels in, it's like it runs out of content but keeps going anyway, if they did a sequel and added new gen graphics + a shit ton of new weapons/enemies/traps/gimmicks/bosses then it could become truly great.
Nostalgia's in; big and small companies are all over that worldwide. Instead of taking a huge risk with a new IP, they find it easier to unearth dead/dying ones and make it move awkwardly, Weekends at Bernie's-style. The cassette tape is back, large array of colors for clothing and art returned, and all the product placements trying to be relatable on Twitter. silence, brand DotEmu has been all about that; reviving the Streets of Rage franchise (arguably, I didn't like it much), keeping the Metal Slug games alive, and are currently working on a TMNT game that is a love letter to Turtles In Time. As for LucasFilms... Well... I guess they're still around... Making most fans hate them and their childhood now. A Jedi skill to revive someone from the brink of death? Bruh. It's all a cash grab, man.
Maybe it's because it's a cult classic? Not really sure. I honestly have no say in it because.... I've never played it, heh. Even back when it was released I've never had the desire to play it. Well, it's here in all its glory. Whoever made that decision should have put it in a multipack at least. I can see this added to games like smash TV or perhaps Baseball Simulator 1.000. Now THAT'S a great game that no one has heard of LOL!
The fact that this game took forever to beat and had advanced graphics for the time can't be forgotten. I played it a few times and enjoyed it as a kid, and pretty much everyone I knew liked it and rented it occasionally. That being said, nobody I know would really care to play this anymore as it is super one dimensional by all modern measures. It just shows how few games were actually considered "good" even in the 90s SNES days. The SNES is my all time favorite system and I could still carry every game I would consider good in one bookbag.
Unless I'm wrong, it's not a remake, but only the original games. On PC. So yeah, I suggest you stick to emulators like Snes9x, Bsnes HD and Retroarch. Not only you'll get CRT filters, but also more accurate emulation.
Literally nothing compared to what you can do with an emulator. Except this : "Museum Features: Watch a video interview with one of the original Zombies’ developers or explore numerous galleries containing game art, previously unreleased concept images and marketing assets" Yawn...
