maybe it's only me, but the controls are an absolute disgrace. your character only attacks what's in front, so you better position correctly the camera angle. sure you can lock on an enemy but never can you soft target the nearest enemy.

Not really, BUT there is a way to play with only friends. In the SmartSteamEmu.ini you'll see a line that says ";OnlineKey" Remove the ; and put in a number after the = . Whatever number you and your friend like. You'll only be matched with people who have the same number there. :)
Me and my friend have the same problem, we set up evrything as should be, game works and all, but OnlinKey option don't. We write our number but we are still connecting to other people and not each other, do you have any clue what we are doing wrong? Or what option we should choose to connect in game?
ok so working fine on my potatoe, literally the minimum required GPU for this game that it may be like 10 years old by now, works smooth in medium/hign settings. Finally a D&D game that normal people can enjoy. You do know this is a successor to previous Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance right?, which is also a hack and slash and its good a lot of people love it. Now a lot of people didn't like this one because its actually pretty terrible game not because its not an crpg. the combat is just underwhelming, the AI is pretty dumb which hinder the combat even more, and the level design and animation is mediocre, even though sometimes it can be fun but for the price there are better games out there.

The setting can be used for more than telling RPG tales. The game isn't for you, which is fine, but saying the setting should only be used for one thing is absolutely ridiculous.

This game is terrible in its execution. Bad netcode (lag in multiplayer), uneven quality in animations (e.g. the banners stutter instead of flutter), misleading advertising (e.g. the dwarf was looting a magic crown and wore it in the trailer before defeating a monster; player characters can't equip loot during missions), et cetera. There are just so many things done poorly. With this kind of poor production, this just gives proverbial ammunition to those who believe that D&D should be used to tell RPG tales only.
I don't like Magic: The Gathering - or any TCG - for that matter. Also, I haven't bothered with Might and Magic. Think twice before making assumptions, asshole.
I actually bought this game and refunded it on steam. I would recommend playing it if you can play it with friends, which is not all that likely with cracked games. For solo play though, I'd recommend waiting for a lot of updates as the game's definitely unfinished.

For real. the 2 hours I suffered playing was with the "fighter" who uses ranged attacks. Enemies don't react at all if you shoot them from 10m away or from an area they can't get to. Still some enemies had so much HP I ended up getting bored and uninstalling. I mean, I played DnD a few times and I know that fighters are well within their abilities to use ranged attacks. But would it kill them to make their ranged character a different class for clarity's sake? Here, I'll help them out and show them how to make 4 classes Thief (stealthy bow user) Ranger (Dual wielder who does a little bit of everything. Bonus to healing, and a ranged special, plus they get to keep Drizzt in the story if they want) Paladin (2 handed weapon tank and healer) Warlock (Spell caster, debuffer, still competent with weapons)
While I don't disagree with the overall sentiment of your comment, I would like to touch upon fighters using ranged weapons in D&D. The fighter class is actually phenomenal for ranged, better even than ranger, if they specialize in it. It is not uncommon at all.

Do not bother with this, especially not a cracked version. These idiots didn't even implement ally AI, so you are going to be playing a super mediocre solo dungeon crawler. The game isn't even good multiplayer, but just don't waste your time playing it solo.
