Requiring a mic is a guaranteed way to turn off a large chunk of the player base, there are people who don't like their voices, there are people who worry about invasion of privacy, and then there are people without mics.... oh oh and also the people who don't play with sound, and the people who don't want to listen to little pre-pubes scream into mics. Hmmm, also deaf, mute or deaf-mute people.... I bet all of that adds up to a 50% reduced playerbase right out the door. Bad move.
