Man ... I played through it once and I was like "WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?" It was an eye-opening experience ... or more like a journey back in time. Thank you. 2 things came to my mind right after. I remember the Floppy Disk era well and how even after it was finished, the concept of 'compression' was a big thing and lingered on for a while. I remember there were softwares out there that made it possible to compress a 600 MB CD into mere kilobytes. It was only a matter of processing power and time. The second thing is a video "Raycevick" made a few months back titled "Why Games Are Massive". It's an interesting video and is worth a watch. He concludes that most of the volume of the AAA games are irrelevant and can be significantly reduced, but their existence is mostly a matter of 'convenience'. Most people are probably averse to downloading a game first and then downloading 'high quality textures' separately to save some hard drive space. They prefer to have a complete package. That said, this "KKrieger" still remains a marvelous feat.
Brings me back. First room alone blew my mind. Then the first door opened and the game just kept on going. Not saying that this game uploaded here isn't just another asset flip, but filesize doesn't mean much if you really know what you're doing.
