https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fidyo7yymu4 NVM I reloaded the installer and the credits came up that time and found at least a version of it. It's still cool but now I can go back to trying this game. :)

daxx (d4xx?) has been remixing/covering video game music forever. Super talented. Check out his other stuff. I found him 8 years ago on amigaremix website.

I suppose games are becoming easier to make. Not that I can make one at the moment or anything like that but still, I'm assuming someone with a little know-how and a game engine like UNITY/UNREAL all have access to the same kinds of code and assets etc.

Because 4x gamers love simple games.

I was taught history in jr high using Sid Meier's Civilization, then Civ 2 as well. I have been playing 4x games since I was a kid, in other words. I like the strategy, the tactics, and diplomacy, etc. but I don't have the will in my older age now to learn all these newer 4x games....
That being said I've played to death the Civ series and Europa, Hearts of Iron, Stellaris, and many others so I don't want to play them anymore. What I'm looking for these days is actually a less complex quicker match 4x style game.
I'm not special so I assume there are other people who feel the same and maybe this game was made for them... that being said, this doesn't scratch that itch because this is more of a 2x or 1x. I still want the 4x's but maybe a game I can finish in an hour.

I don't.

Did you stop to think that maybe they aren't targeting current 4x gamers but rather trying to get people who are turned off by the complexity that accompanies most 4x games?
Or people that don't have the sheer amount of time to devote to 4x in any given session of play.

So you agree with me that this is not a game for 4x gamers.

If anyone here played it, how good/bad is it?

Depends on what you are looking for. It is a good game if you aren't looking for complexity. Dark Sorceress' recommendations are good, more complex games but comparing this to them is completely disingenuous.

its not good id recommend any of the stellar games over this or into the stars or orbit outlaws

I can already imagine the Master of Orion purists frothing and seething over this simplification.

They can just stick with Master of Orion and keep their froth to themselves lol

Oh... Oh... So it's a space sci-fi 4X reduced to a clicker-tapper.
That's not a derisive remark actually. The game has practically simplified the gameplay of that genre down to just the essentials.
