Having experienced quite a number of games where the player character is a humanoid mech, I find that pretty much all of them are shallow in hindsight.
Sure, they are cool, but shooting a bunch of idiot mooks (who have no chance against what is practically a Super Robot) from start to end won't stay appealing forever.

This installment is focused on the narrative, not just the fights. It looks good.

Oh, my, god...
Two characters, 8 missions, one set of armor, less than 10 weapons and no unlocks?
And this thing took them 4 years to complete? Just take a look at Project Wingman, please...
That "final boss" doesn't even feel like a proper fight... you basically can't lose in this game.

That said, I would say that a far better comparison is Strike Suit Zero. That has gameplay that is closer to this one than Project Wingman does.

I can feel the potential from the handling, too, sadly they focused on the wrong thing since the beginning.

A lot of time and resources have been spent on the assets for the cutscenes. There are letters with cursive writing on a table with lacquered wood, for one.
Project Wingman has far simpler visuals for story-telling, e.g. animated wireframes and abstract symbols on a holographic map.
This is not in the defense of this game though. Rather, it's obvious that the developers of this one are really better off directing some anime than the production of a game.

Yeah, they wasted way too much time and resources on those CGs... also, the briefing could've been better than just a few words - at least a simple map with markings of where the initial enemy forces are.

Game is being bashed on steam for being short and shallow.
It also doesn't even have set the brazilian rating to appear as accessible.
I like mechs, but this one is a pass.

Sure, if it's short it might not be worth its money. However it's a different story when you spend nothing on it. Here we don't have the evaluation criteria of $/hour of gameplay so it may suddenly become worth it.

True, but there is still the matter of time spent. Can't get time back when one plays the game, even without having spent a single cent.
Considering the first impression that I have of this game, I would rather play Strike Suit Zero again. Or even Gun Metal.
