In a previous comment I mentioned that Zloemu was not to be trusted because it installed a root-level certificate that gave the Zloemu creator permissions to do whatever he wanted. It turns out that you can decline the installation of the certificate and you can play Diablo 2 without putting your pc at risk. So don't worry folks, just don't say yes when it asks you.
I have find that indian people are mostly skillful in most if not all android systems and samoetimes in newest win10 system. And after I try in my additional laptop some of solutions they make, most of times I landed with some hidden sripts and even changes in system working sometimes tuching as far as bios thing. So man nah i obtain this gamz free in lot of years so I know where is safe to get and how to do, but this big no no I most likely buy the game than risk my main computer.

For those who are hesitating to download it, the game alone does not work. It requires something called Zloemu to be installed, the problem with this tool is that it has root access. The tool, once installed, has the permissions to do whatever it wants on your computer. Basically if the owner of the tool wishes, he can erase all the data on your computer. I'm going to wait for a crack to develop, I don't trust this tool.
Can a moderator or admin confirm some type of update is in the works or something for the complete content I would REALLY like to play the offline single player portion of this game. Since it's already here I don't think it can even be requested anymore.

To play in English, do the following:
Create a shortcut to ZClient.exe;
In its properties, in the "Object" field, you need to add the full path to the D2R.exe file and the language. It should look something like this (paths, of course, yours): "X:\ZClient.exe" "X:\Diablo II Resurrected\D2R.exe" -locale enUS

Still uses server emulation and that most likely is never going to change. You just have to apply a registry file called offline.reg and then play the game like normal.
my character all my progress got deleted...this bug is so annoying got some good items already... i checked the save file my character file is still inside the folder but how come the game doesn't load my file character... when i try to create another character with the same name it said name is already taken.... dont waste your time on this garbage its just waiting for you to reach level 76 and accumulate really good rune item sets etc... and then... poof... all of a sudden progress everything deleted... so yes if you want to experience the same misery im having right now then be my guess download and play it but dont say that i didnt warned you...
This ZLO crap won't work for every PC! it needs only DirectX 12 "fully compatible" system to run. if you drag the d2r into the ZLO win, and nothing happens, then look at the window as soon as possible, you will see the dx file running an terminating soon after, that's due to lack of DirectX 12 installed on your pc, or inability of your system to run the direct x 12 components, for example my main board has pci-e 16x slot, yet my graphic card is 32x but works with older mainboards with 16x also, the problem is due to not fully compatible buses between the card and the main, DirectX 12 wont work on my system properly... . so if you have the same problem, ignore not just ZLO, but all the advanced EMUs for good!
so try this. it worked for me. make sure all your drivers are up to date except for your hard drive drivers. keep hdd drivers at default. and boom. works perfectly. when i update my hdd drivers my comp runs like crap. my mobo does not play nicely with windows 10 but after figuring that out it fixed everything
I mostly play cracked games but in case like this I feel safer to buy game than run one on which need internet anyway. Cutting of that there is bigger chance for hacker, most of games working on server get updates and patches not only game fixing but also for protection. So again I AVOID this type of game cracked.
If you run the launcher and get a black screen into a crash to desktop, it could be due to the game's installation folder being "read only". Right click on the installation folder => Properties => Uncheck the read only and apply to subfolders as well.
This solved it for me. I should credit @Leonsp45 who mentioned this in one of the comments below.
So I used the Offline.reg. Not sure if that was a good idea. Kinda freaked out that it will have messed with my computer? Does anyone know how to delete it or what it does?
Files with the extension .reg add things into your PC's registry. You shouldn't really worry about the pop up warning about the possibility of breaking your PC, it's just there to warn you, that's all. Any .reg file you try to run will have the same warning message.
If you really want to delete the entries added by Offline.reg the easiest way would be to open said .reg file with any text editor, open Registry Editor (open run command with Win + R, type regedit and press enter) then while looking at the open file in text editor follow the path listed inside square bracket(s) using Registry Editor and delete whatever was created.
Very helpful. I should've looked at the text before freaking out. Seems like very basic things. Not sure if it will affect any other Blizzard game I play but its not like I play any other Blizzard game so whatever LOL.
it's a text file, open it in notepad and see if it messes with anything but a proper blizzard or diablo2 reg entry. It might also put a firewall block in, that's ok too.
this seems to be the ZLOE version which you have to go to their website and sign up and move the game and stuff... there is actually an instruction if you look for it.

once extracted, the folder contains: a data file, an info file (build.info), a dll file (d3d12) an application (BlizzardError) which does not seem to launch and the .exe D2R.
the latter gives me an error message saying that an Offline.dll file is missing, i tried to copy and rename d3d12 in Offline but i got a new error message (Procedure entry point MessageBoxW could not be found in dynamic link library C:...) can you help me there Please ?
It seems the Game takes automatically the desktop/os-language, maybe this helps: change the os language to the one you want under windows settings-> region -> country and choose the language you want,start the game,that´s it.you should can change back while you play.
Another choice is: use search -> type regedit and start it -> use regedits search for this: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Launch Options\OSI] "REGION"="OFF" And change Region "OFF" to language you want,but would advice to try the first tip,its easier
Nvidia has activated the dlss while this version does not take it into account... I play without antialiasing which ruins the game.. Can you update it?
Everything was done as instructed but it was frozen at the start loading screen (right after the burning logo) and crashed. Did any one have and fix this issue?

Thank you it worked I received the mail .. but the game still wont open .. the z client just minimize to the system tray after I drag the D2R.exe to it and nothing happens.
Try creating a Zclient shortcut and add the address of the d2r executable to the end of the destination. Assuming you have diablo 2 in program files, it should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Diablo II Resurrected\ZClient.exe" "C:\Program Files\Diablo II Resurrected\D2R.exe"
Diablo works fine and you can unlock all the characters by downloading this file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/2qjgp4bu1wen8e7/EVERY_CHARACTER_UNLOCKER.7z/file This file is the only file that is available for cracking the game to have all the characters and is not mine. Yes the file is safe I have uploaded it to virus total and tried it myself.

I can't create a new character, and the characters I had already created before I had this problem no longer appear in the game. it says "unable to enter game. bad character quest data"
when i try to connect from 1 machine (local network) to my other machine the host game will crash as soon as the client tries to connect ..anyone got this working? Need to mule items and its impossible since shared stash is broken when u use network game it deletes all the items when the game restarts. Same here... I try to join friends game with the host IP it shows.... and the host game crashes. Then greys out my tcp/ip button. Is it possible to play with a friend with this release? Or anyone know of a solution?

After installing .NET Desktop Runtime 3.1, START.exe (on Win7 compatibility mode), game starts to launch with a black screen for a sec, then closes. What am i doing wrong here? I also ran v2.08 of the D2ROffline.exe still nothing.

so the alpha only goes up to act 2, BUT there is a mod you can look for where they've fully unlocked the alpha so you can do all acts and play all classes
Hi, I created a file called "patches.txt" in the root of the game with the line -> 0x1446C8: + 0x270EC: ~ Spanish * [esMX] * To put in Spanish, but when I start the game it won't let me change the language, do you know why?
Dont know this works in spanish, too. I copied the german language code in the patches.txt and the game was in german. No need to change it in the options. By the way... you dont need to create a patches.txt file. That's the file that already is in the DR2offline crack from the github site.
What do you mean exactly by a D2SE version for this? It's only going to be the one version for this remaster, and they're keeping the og standard + optional expansion up for people to grab from their site as well (unlike when Warcraft 3 Reforged required the new edition to access the classic version).
Think the best way is to try it out yourself, this particular page is more toxic than most others so far. But I do believe there are only about 3 playable classes, seems to be true but again, I haven't bothered yet. Not sure either why there seem to be more trolls here, one can speculate I guess.
It's a little iffy on that. There's 3 known ones known for sure (Amazon, Sorceress, Barbarian), but I've also seen gameplay videos with the Druid. However, I do know for sure that at the very least, the Necromancer and Assassin are out of commission currently...not sure about the Paladin.

on multiplayer games, theres some dudes who make servers with 4-5 party bots except 1-3 slots for human players all the party bots have enigma with different classes and they endlessly teleport EVERYWHERE, and the worse part is those motherfuckers are programmed to instantly pick valuable drops which its impossible for a human player to beat them and blizzard dont give a shit to ban this assholes

Works fine. If TCP/IP is grayed out, try restarting the game. It works for me. To be honest though...it's nothing special. Just D2 with pretty graphics. No gameplay improvements. You still have only ONE skill slot and to use multiple skills you have to become one of those D2 hardcore pro players. It severely limits the enjoyment of any character other than the Barbarian who is a one trick pony. Not going to waste my time (or money) unless they add a proper UI and more skills.
As somebody who has NEVER been able to run Diablo 2 on Windows 7 (and even less on Windows 10), this is great news. Can't wait to play this again! 😍 (Don't ask why, I swear I always followed tutorials and did every trick possible, nothing ever worked.)

From what I've seen in the comments, only the Sorceress, Barbarian, or Amazonian are playable, the others classes aren't. I, myself, wanted to play as the Necromancer, as soon as I saw that the class was unplayable, I gave up on downloading the game.
There is a way. With the 'Hero Edit MOD' from the old D2. Seems to work. But not at me. I can load my char, but if i save it then it didn't appear in the D2-R load screen. But there are videos online from people they get it to work. Alleged it works with three more classes.

Never liked or bother to play Diablo 2 because of how ugly the graphics were and how tiny everything was. Now that the game is upgraded, wow, what a difference in visual/graphics, its fun now. The music is interesting too, great game. Looking forward to the official release.
Personally, I never liked it either. It is just an isometric hack-and-slash with no substance (for a rpg or also called a-rpg) and no real achievement but farming and inventory tetris, and AFAIK Diablo 2 is of the same year than Baldur Gate. And if it is for action game, then Alien Shooter has more basic graphics but it is more epic and more action. IMHO, it was hyped back then when Blizzard was a midas company.
I guess it does feel a bit outdated now, even by Titan Quest (which is pretty old too, but got lots of great updates) or Grim Dawn. Gameplay hasn't been improved at all? I'll have to check... Grim Dawn pretty much was the successful successor in that capacity because it's such a well crafted game. I'm still hyped at the possibility of a sequel since the first was just so good. Diablo 3 was a fine sequel in ways, mainly the console version, but the art style was just a bit of an odd choice for me. And in all honesty, the way it was set up just felt weird to do with a mouse/keyboard since it very much felt more geared to the controller (whereas a game like Grim Dawn goes either way)...hence why I said the console version was more preferable since the game just seemed less workable without a controller...and PC version had zero support in that area as far as I recall (that, and the always online bit was a terrible idea).
Did you play it when it came out or did you discover it later? That is a huge thing with diablo. At least for me D2 is a big nostalgia thing, and QoL changes + updated graphics may really be enough to bring me back to that game.

Who would have thought that a game released in the middle of 2000 would look anything less than perfect compared to a PS1...er N64...er Playstation 2...oh wait, Diablo II came out a few months before that... Well it certainly was worse than The Sims...er, I mean Roller Coaster Tycoo--er I mean Balder's Gate II...er, uhm, Yeah, I got nothing. All jokes/sarcasm aside, the style was actually pretty on par for games released in that time in a similar genre, even on PC. And while it's seen as somewhat dated now, this style was actually pretty well received for quite some time (and I mean many years after the expansion was done to where there were still dedicated multiplayer chats and setups for people who wanted to play together, which were very much used), to where D2 is still considered the best in the series by people compared even to the graphically "superior" Diablo III, hence why it's getting such a loving "remake" (though it's more like OOT N64 versus 3DS remake since the look is still virtually the same with more sleek looking assets) so new fans can enjoy it too (and doesn't seem as insufferable a trainwreck as their last one, aka Warcraft 3 Reforged).

I'm shocked that IGG haven't posted the game on their site. But you can find it on abandonware websites. I was going to suggest to buy it, but ebay prices is insane over 30 bucks lol. Its a fun game though. doesn't look bad despite being release in 2000.

This part usually confuses me when I hear people say that. It's amazing how better graphics somehow affect the music and sounds to where when it looks better, it somehow sounds better (although I do notice the quest completion sound when the icon greys out has less...echo than in the original version).

Make sure your antivir or/and windows defender is not blocking it. I needed to make an exception for that file aswell as the crack.dll coz windows thought its a trojan. Otherwise you can't find the file if windows blocks it
It is the START.exe from the Diablo folder. You might need to check your antivirus or windows defender, it might block or quarantine it, if so make an exclusion and you should be good to go
This is what my folder looks like. Have you installed NET Desktop Runtime 3.1? as mentioned in the "How to run" text file? If not maybe thats the problem. For me it works totally fine

I mean, if he's got enough for that Xbox 360 and controller plus a TV to play it on a subway, then I'd gear more towards "he can at least afford it" since at the very least he ain't worried about someone trying to steal one of those things if he's willing to play them right there no problems.
Odds are they just don't care. But when the most basic smartphone nowadays is like 40 bucks and he's got more than that in stuff in that gif (the console, game, TV, power pack to play that on a subway/monorail/other public transport), my original point still stands that he could at least afford a mobile...especially if he's fine whipping all that out on a subway where someone could easily just walk up and take that stuff from him. fyi original does not have mods support they modded the shit out of it but it never had official mod support, blizzard actually never allowed it, its just d2 had an offline mode and they couldnt do shit about it thats all
eh....theres a pretty damn fine line between hacking and modding, and honestly i am not sure what to call it in d2's case lol things like maphacks etc can be used online obviously, but "mods" like new skills / new items etc can only be used single player. This and if you're a console user, you get it for the first time on console. Other than that, it's exactly the same as D2, except a bit prettier like Warcraft 3 Reforged was compared to og Warcraft 3 (although here's hoping D2 Resurrected is far less of a trainwreck compared to W3 reforged).
damned. the 20gb really are NOT worth it. started playing and instantly thought i would better reinstall diablo 2 classic instead of playing this. it feels unresponsive and is harder to control than the original. graphics really do not "look like 20gb" IMHO this will be a quick cash grab by blizzard just like Warcraft 3 Refunded.
Keep in mind this is the beta, meaning you're going to see a lot of changes based on feedback in the final product. But it's going to be clunky and unresponsive at first because it's the unpolished beta.
Yeah, i would have thought so too if I did not take the Warcraft 3 remake into consideration. They only downgraded from the beta, so i do not expect much of an improvement gameplay wise. Even the "placeholder" video markings are.. questionable. By now i expect them to just upscale them by software on the pc, without any rendering improvement before on their side.
Yeah, like they did with the Warcraft 3 remake.. and Diablo mobile. Blizzard has not been very conscious about their decisions lately, so i do not expect they will make good decisions for this either.

That's a bit much. Personally while I'm excited for the remaster, I get where A Crab is coming from on the og one being just as serviceable with some graphics enhancements. I've done the same with other games that allow mods (Torchlight 2 is really only fine with the Inked mod, as an example), so I can completely respect that viewpoint. However, that being said some people will just tend to prefer remasters more despite the shaky, sometimes awful nature of them (W3 reforged to name an example from the same devs, and Kingdoms of Amalur ReRecknoning to name an example from a different company). And with how Blizzard has been keeping people informed on the progress and pushing how it won't be like their last one, I'm totally cool giving this one a try. With that said, I don't know why people downvoted a perfectly valid opinion, but people are just fickle that way sometimes...no need to go all in on the insults about it.

I have installed this Mod. It has aged poorly and even with this Mod (3dfx emulation :) it looks bad, not to mention the animations. But thanks anyway.

once extracted, the folder contains: a data file, an info file (build.info), a dll file (d3d12) an application (BlizzardError) which does not seem to launch and the .exe D2R.
the latter gives me an error message saying that an Offline.dll file is missing, i tried to copy and rename d3d12 in Offline but i got a new error message (Procedure entry point MessageBoxW could not be found in dynamic link library C:...) can you help me there Please ?
When you download all file then you extracted it should look like this.
maybe this helps: change the os language to the one you want
under windows settings-> region -> country and choose the language
you want,start the game,that´s it.you should can change back while you play.
Another choice is: use search -> type regedit and start it ->
use regedits search for this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Launch Options\OSI]
"REGION"="OFF"
And change Region "OFF" to language you want,but would advice to try the first tip,its easier

This file is the only file that is available for cracking the game to have all the characters and is not mine. Yes the file is safe I have uploaded it to virus total and tried it myself.

And if it is for action game, then Alien Shooter has more basic graphics but it is more epic and more action.

Diablo 3 was a fine sequel in ways, mainly the console version, but the art style was just a bit of an odd choice for me. And in all honesty, the way it was set up just felt weird to do with a mouse/keyboard since it very much felt more geared to the controller (whereas a game like Grim Dawn goes either way)...hence why I said the console version was more preferable since the game just seemed less workable without a controller...and PC version had zero support in that area as far as I recall (that, and the always online bit was a terrible idea).
That is a huge thing with diablo.
At least for me D2 is a big nostalgia thing, and QoL changes + updated graphics may really be enough to bring me back to that game.

All jokes/sarcasm aside, the style was actually pretty on par for games released in that time in a similar genre, even on PC. And while it's seen as somewhat dated now, this style was actually pretty well received for quite some time (and I mean many years after the expansion was done to where there were still dedicated multiplayer chats and setups for people who wanted to play together, which were very much used), to where D2 is still considered the best in the series by people compared even to the graphically "superior" Diablo III, hence why it's getting such a loving "remake" (though it's more like OOT N64 versus 3DS remake since the look is still virtually the same with more sleek looking assets) so new fans can enjoy it too (and doesn't seem as insufferable a trainwreck as their last one, aka Warcraft 3 Reforged).

IMHO this will be a quick cash grab by blizzard just like Warcraft 3 Refunded.
They only downgraded from the beta, so i do not expect much of an improvement gameplay wise.
Even the "placeholder" video markings are.. questionable.
By now i expect them to just upscale them by software on the pc, without any rendering improvement before on their side.

However, that being said some people will just tend to prefer remasters more despite the shaky, sometimes awful nature of them (W3 reforged to name an example from the same devs, and Kingdoms of Amalur ReRecknoning to name an example from a different company). And with how Blizzard has been keeping people informed on the progress and pushing how it won't be like their last one, I'm totally cool giving this one a try.
With that said, I don't know why people downvoted a perfectly valid opinion, but people are just fickle that way sometimes...no need to go all in on the insults about it.
