On paper, the game had everything going for it. From visual design, art direction, point and click adventure and great voice acting.
The issue is that once they introduce the turn based combat, I literally fell asleep, true story.
The combat is so uninteresting and pace killer that I couldn't care about the game anymore.

I agree with Steam reviews. Mixing point and click with turn-based combat was a bad idea. Making the combats completely skippable would be enough to make the game much better.
(Also, most combats have no depth and don't feel important at all, don't expect much strategy there.)
It's overall a good game with great graphics and an interesting original story.
Hopefully the developer will listen to the complaints.
Edit : the developer said the fights won't be skippable. Well, that settles it.

Completely agree with you here after trying this game couple of months ago.
The dull slow paced combat kills the story and the game

I was expecting a sad, solemn and touchy-feeling point & click adventure ... until the main character picked up a large broom and started smashing a cat senselessly 😄
