Did you check your Event Viewer? This could be a lot of things, from missing/corrupted game files (trying reinstall while pausing firewall for a bit could help) and corrupted system files (SFC/DISM scans might be a good idea) to issues with drivers, accessing invalid memory, missing redistributables, incompatibility (I mean - the game IS almost 10 years old) to fairy godmother knows what. Error code 0xc0000417 is basically Windows version of grandma's tin box of cookies that disappoints you with a few buttons, twenty years old mints and cat hair.
Game does not run for me either. Tried all compatibility modes, run as admin, etc. My drivers are all up-to-date and all 3rd party software is installed. I am not doing a SFC/DISM scan as I believe it is the game. Good luck. *Update: The event viewer listed a module fault path at windows/system/msvcr100.dll I replaced that file just to check and same issue. I'm currently checking a version acquired elsewhere. Same issue with the same build #. Checking the Gold Edition now.
Ah, you were faster. :D Yup, as soon as he mentioned the .dll file, other options were basically useless, those were just suggestions without any other info. Downgrading a version won't help in this case - I've ran a clean install from a different source just out of curiosity and it works okay.
I got close to 60MB/s on both of the game downloads....lol Good to know. I prolly try/check 20 games a day from here and 1 out of 100 don't work for some reason. I'll let Jon know about the issue. Thanks. ;)
Hello! Yes, unfortunately, you'll have to wait for the admins to resolve the issue or look for the game somewhere else. I'm sorry we couldn't help more. If you decide to go for the second option and have troubles with finding it, I could share the game files if you want.
Hey, @USNCBSLIXX was so kind to share a gold edition with me and it works so it's all good, anyway thank you :) I didn't even expect anyone to notice so it's super cool from you guys.
Thank you guys for replying! You had a good feeling, i found something in Event Viewer, application error related to crusader2.exe and it says something about MSVCR100.dll which i checked is Vc++ but i installed it (i had it installed already to be more precise, but after i run the setup i could repair or uninstall, so i selected repair). No idea why it doesn't work. Any thoughts? I'm gonna try the sfc/dism scans tomorrow too.
Good luck.

Try again afterwards and see if it works
