Maybe use radmin vpn , to make kind of virtual lan network so you can play it like usual online game , of course it depends on wether the game support lan multiplayer or not
Kind of reminds me of Notrium which in turn made me again sad about there being no other survival games that don't have an item durability system or otherwise come close to how awesome finding a new fuel cell in Notrium felt.

Ohh & as u can see game got the update from early access to 1.0.32 :)

weird, last time i remember, i played this for free on Steam (full, not demo), now they put a price for it, i thought it's finally released as a full game, but it's still in early access, lulz.
its quite grindy alone and gets boring fast
