Hey guys, I see there are a lot of explanations flying around that aren't really helpful. It DOES work and it's actually quite simple. I have noticed that a lot of the links are dead. I found that the Google Drive links worked fine. Below are full detailed instructions.
Unzip the files to a directory on your PC. For the sake of this instruction, lets call this the Unzipped directory That takes care of getting everything that you require to install. Now for the installation:
In the Unzipped directory, open the folder where you unzipped Part 1, open the first folder and you should see, amongst others, "rld-bme2.iso" and "rld-bmew.iso"
Double click rld-bme2.iso and allow Daemon tools to mount the drive. It should then pop up with the same menu as when you normally insert a disk.
Select autorun. If not presented with this option, go to file explorer, open the newly inserted "disk" (it will be something like BD-ROM Drive (E:) LOTRBFME2) and double click on autorun.exe (That's if double clicking it does not let it autorun already)
Install the game as per normal procedure, using one of the FIRST SET OF KEYS in the featured comment above.
THE GAME WILL NOT RUN YET!! If you try, it will give you an error about inserting the righ disk!
Open the BD-ROM Drive again (Right click and go Open\Explore) and find the folder called "Crack". Open it up and copy both items from there.
Using File Explorer, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm) II" and paste both items in there. If asked whether you want to keep original files or replace existing files, select "Replace". DO NOT SKIP.
Once this is complete, go to your Desktop and double click the Game Icon. Surprise, it tries to load, gives up and disappears... However, please don't skip this, as you need to try and run it for it to create the roaming folder for the next step.
VERY IMPORTANT STEP!! In your Unzipped Folder, where you found the .iso file, there is a file called "options.ini". Copy this file and go to "C:\Users"Your Username"\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth(tm) II Files" and paste this file into there. Once you have done this, the base game will be installed and it will launch properly. You can also right click on the BD-ROM Drive and click eject, as you won't need it anymore. IF YOU CANNOT FIND THE APPDATA FOLDER, you can find it in 1 of 3 ways:
Simply open your file explorer and in the address bar at the top type: %appdata% and press enter
Click start menu, type in "run", click the Run app and type %appdata% into it and press enter
In file explorer, click "View" and in the ribbon on the top click the check box that says "Hidden items" TO INSTALL THE EXPANSION, follow the exact steps as above, from step 2. The only differences in the steps are: Step 2: Double click "rld-bmew.iso" (instead of "rld-bme2.iso") and allow Daemon tools to mount the drive. It should then pop up with the same menu as when you normally insert a disk. Step 3: You will be looking for "BD-ROM Drive (E:) LOTRBFME2EP1" instead of "BD-ROM Drive (E:) LOTRBFME2" Step 4. Install the game as per normal procedure, using one of the SECOND SET OF KEYS in the featured comment above. Step 6: Open the BD-ROM Drive again (Right click and go Open\Explore) and find the folder called "Crack". Open it up and copy the game.dat file from there. Step 7: Using File Explorer, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king" and paste both items in there. If asked whether you want to keep original files or replace existing files, select "Replace". DO NOT SKIP. Step 9: VERY IMPORTANT STEP!! In your Unzipped Folder, where you found the .iso file, there is a file called "options.ini". Copy this file and go to "C:\Users"Your Username"\AppData\Roaming\My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files" and paste this file into there. That's it guys. To be honest with you, I never used anything from Part 2... perhaps someone else can enlighten us to the purpose thereof. Please feel free to comment any questions, I will be happy to clarify if needed, because I know how frustrating it can be and I know how I have been battling to find a working copy of this game. Enjoy!
No idea if youre still keeping tabs on this thread or whatever, but I seriously dont know what to do, I followed each of the steps you listed, I ran the autorun.exe, installed it to the directory it wanted by default, added the crack in the original files found in the same folder as the .iso's, then ran the game to create the roaming file, added the options.ini, and according to you and every other guide i can find here, that should mean that the game should run... But it doesnt, it opens the splash page thing showing that its loading, but then it either stops responding immediately, or it opens and i get a black screen before it stops responding immediately as well. Am i doing something wrong, or should i just try finding an alternate site and download their version of the game?
Hi I'm unable to find the roaming for the DLC, tried to lauch the DLC but it says base game files not found. For the DLC, there seemed to be only one game.dat file rather than 2 for base game
Install with 1 of the serial codes below. Serials: Original game: BRU4-T26A-QQGT-4FHS-QGDM RLSA-E38Y-CE6D-YCEG-HRLD WWLL-EH2V-EMP7-5EMZ-BRLD EMXX-U93U-6BT7-86B5-CRLD Witch king expansion: 7FRR-P794-5MGC-X5MC-GRLD D5XF-TTVD-N43X-VN4B-YRLD PHJA-AAMF-L5GP-KL5H-RRLD K6XX-S5RC-WHYS-YWHL-URLD
Copy crack file "game.dat" to install folder.
Run the game once (this will create the roaming folder for you)
Add options.ini file to your roaming folder. C:UsersusernameappdataroamingMy The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files And C:UsersusernameappdataroamingMy Battle for Middle-earth(tm) II Files
do everything here but when you make a options.ini file add this AllHealthBars = yes AmbientVolume = 50.000000 AnimationLOD = VeryLow AudioLOD = High Brightness = 50 DecalLOD = High EffectsLOD = VeryLow FlashTutorial = 0 GameSpyIPAddress = HasSeenLogoMovies = yes IdealStaticGameLOD = VeryLow ModelLOD = High MovieVolume = 70.000000 MusicVolume = 70.000000 Resolution = 1366 768 SFXVolume = 70.000000 ScrollFactor = 50 SendDelay = no ShaderLOD = Low ShadowLOD = Low StaticGameLOD = Custom TerrainLOD = Medium TextureQualityLOD = High TimesInGame = 33 UseEAX3 = no VoiceVolume = 70.000000 WaterLOD = Low should work after. if not just download this http://www.mediafire.com/file/xzxx7ckn1xyxz1y/Options.ini
just copy the options.ini to: C:Users/username/appdata/roaming/My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files And C:Users/username/appdata/roaming/My Battle for Middle-earth(tm) II Files
I downloaded from MegaUp and there is no .iso in any file. Neither can Daemon Tools find them inside the zip files. Is this upload broken, or is it MegaUp's files fault somehow?
Hey everybody, I used the google drive link and unziped everything I could, but the installation still requires a DISC 1 and I can't continue the installation. Could you help me with this? Thanks!
Run the game once (this will create the roaming folder for you) this instruction was incomplete. The roaming folder will be created in location stated AFTER instructions number 4, not in where the game directory is. Also, make sure you install the 2 games in 2 different directories since its considered as 2 games.
how do i run the game.... i have 4 possible applications, 1 is the installer autorun that doesn't work cause it requires a disc, the 2nd is the uninstaller, the 3rd is a code generator and the 4th lotricon doesn't respond or do anything.
Edit: Managed to get both DLC and main game running. I reinstalled both and this time didnt change destination folder. For those having similar issue can try as i did
Hmm, curious... I didn't come across that at all in my process... which directory did you install the base game to? Perhaps the installer from the expansion is not seeing these game files. ie. they are trying to install to different locations and therefor not seeing each other. I had a similar issue before with other software, after i thought i was clever and changed a registry key to change my default installation location to another drive... which doesnt work BTW, you still gotta choose where to install and then manually go and remap the shortcuts.
Did you come right yet? Does it run fine if you unmount the virtual drive? Did you copy the crack files over to the installation directory properly? If so, from where did you copy them? From the original extracted files, or from the crack folder on the ISO?
Okay so I am really confused on what to open, what to drag and etc. I have tried many options to download the game but I am just lost. If anyone can give detail explanations please. Thanks.
So I download the files, install the main game and proceed to install the expansion. I mount the image and it gives me a folder full of stuff and the autorun, I click the autorun and it says that I need the main game to install, and I'm kinda lost here, somebody send help
MWAHAHAHA I FIGURED IT OUT. I'll post it here in case anyone needs help. it is super aggrevating to find out by yourself.
Extract the files, in the Battle for middle earth folder you should extract the next two in their own folders. then extract everything in there as well (not in their own folders this time.) crack both with the cracks included, not the ones from the original files.
Use the world builder on both. this will make the roaming files you need.
in the battle for middle earth 2 roaming file put the battle for middle earth 2 stuff in there. then copy the options there. then you can auto run.
copy paste ALL battle for middle earth 2 stuff into the witch king thing.
take JUST the original witch king extracter thing (not the original original ones) and extract it there. then run the installer.
crack witch king and TA DA! :) (note if it doesn't work restart and use the battle for middle earth 2 roaming instead of the witch king roaming.) you should have two roaming and two game folders WITH STUFF IN THEM. do NOT delete anything in those. just the original extraction materials. sorry about my nerd rage, I got anger issues and this was making me mad. hope this helps ppl who were like me.
Unfortunately this explanation is not very helpful, it is very vague and some of the terms here do not apply even in the least and it also misleads from the actual process quite a bit. Thanks though. Perhaps some parts of your methodology did apply to some extent at some point and something changed in the meantime??
Hey, sorry it's been a long time since you posted that but just the first 2 steps are confusing for me, are you willing in explaining better or like do a video please? It will help us all.
Hey, I managed to somehow install it and put all the folders into roaming (at least the LOTR files cuz I don´t want witchking hope I don´t need both) but when I start it it says to put CD/DVD into it
Also, when youre finally finished use all extracted data from the witch king original extraction and you should copy paste them into the witch king game folder, then crack it.
You missed the step of adding the options.ini file to the roaming folder in appdata. That fixes it. Note that you can also change the resolution in the options.ini file.
Roaming file is in your appdata file, which is a hidden file. It's not something that pops up. Roaming file is in C:\users\username\AppData. Username obviously being your user name.
Pls check part2 link. 'Tis broken, our Cracking Overlords. I am HUNGRY for this game my lords! Please do what you can for your people, and as your site says, for your family of gamers.
I swear most of you must be kids because you either give up real easy or don't try it at all i mean come on now how hard can it be stop trying to just run it right off the back and figure out how to do it because even I had to on other games i got from here that needed cracked once you figure out how to do it it becomes much more easy if not then most of you should stick with already cracked games
Roaming file is in your appdata file, which is a hidden file. It's not something that pops up. Roaming file is in C:\users\username\AppData. Username obviously being your user name.
Is there anyway that the files could please be reloaded because every time I try to download the game it says that it either doesn't exist or the page doesn't load and all that is left is a white screen.
That takes care of getting everything that you require to install. Now for the installation:
