It is disappointing, i don't know if everything was disabled on first campaign but there was no random house burning or crumbling no random gods tantruming because you didn't offer food no rioting mobs because of eating only bread its just some sort of boring puzzle that looks like a city builder
Just get Pharaoh from Gog and play that one again. Much better than this unfinished thing. And it's exactly same game since this one is just a clone. And if you want variety, play Caesar III, Zeus or Cleopatra.
The developer is listening to critics : (from Steam) "1. Sandbox is already being developed. 2. For now, you have to make paths for transport. 3. A combat DLC has also been discussed, might be coming soon." So far, I do find it promising and I don't share the negativism in the comments.
I haven't played Sim City (4) in ages, but I would say it plays much closer to Caesar III, Pharaoh, Zeus, and Emperor - Rise of the Middle Kingdom. (all Sierra games) The graphic style seems almost the exact same too.
I love micromanagement but not that extreme and I know where this kind of game goes: you get everything (and your warehouse is piled) but you miss some key materials and you can buy it in the market for some absurdly price.
