Same here. Now I'm morbidly curious about what 1 to 3 are like.

These are either hit or miss. Whilst I do not mind acclaimed assets being duplicated, if done correctly(compelling storytelling, unforgettable character, and a driven narration) it can help the independent development companies continue on. Let's face facts, if not for independent developers, this site wouldn't exist. Triple A games the last few years have been abysmal. But if those same developers use RPG maker, or ctrl+V there way into a game, people lose faith in them. You have to believe in what you make, in the same way you believe in yourself. Eiyuden Chronicles will be a key example of exactly what I mean.

About AAA games. EA is one of the big guys around here however:
It is the list of games launched by EA during the last year:
Burnout Paradise Remastered
Command & Conquer Remastered Collection
The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle
Rocket Arena
Madden NFL 21 Mobile
EA Sports UFC 4
Madden NFL 21
The Sims 4: Star Wars: Journey to Batuu
Star Wars: Squadrons
FIFA 21
NHL 21
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered
The Sims 4: Snowy Escape
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond
So the list is a big meh. Excluding Rocket Arena and Star Wars Squadrons, then most of them are a yearly release, remakes or simple DLC, and practically all of them are multiplayer.
EA has killed more studies that games it launches.
Why?
For example Madden: PS4, XBOX ONE,STADIA, XBOX X/S, PS5

Couldn't agree more. To say all RPGM are the same is like saying all books are the same.
The medium is the same, but the content is not.
I have to admit, though. I have a strong resistance to start playing a RPGM game, but a few got me really hooked.

And if you know what you're doing, you can do some crazy stuff with RPGM. I've played games that I later found out were RPGM and I was "you're joking." But then I looked at the files and saw the earmarks of RPGM.

It's because RPGM just like Unity suffer from a bad reputation due to its "Boom Era / Peak Popularity " (which is not the early days) where a shitload of people used to make easy-to-forget game with the base asset, base menu and graphic, sometime filled with bugs, which therefore made it so that "every game" looked the same (since they all used the base asset you see ?)
So now people, especially unexperienced people, tend to see RPGM as a trademark of bad game/poor story etc...
Same apply to Unity for the exact same reason, letting any Unity asset to be a trademark of "buggy game".
That's unfortunate but that's how it is, people tend to remember the bad moments and forget the good, and unless you're a fan, you wont search for the good game.
