How do I update the game? I have 1.3.0. version and 1.3.1. came out recently and I´m trying to save my progress but don´t know how. I downloaded the new version just like I downloaded the old one and replaced all the files in the old one. Can someone help?
if you don't have an Xbox gamepad you must have the soft "X360ce" (it emulate a simple joypad4 as a x360 joypad)...
Then you just copy x360ce in the game folder (aside game.exe), open x360ce, setting it (it wikk create xinnput 1_3 dll in the game folder, set controller buttons (you can "auto" it but some button may be interverted), all done close x360ce, lauch skul.exe ut should work
I'm turning the translator and talking now. This is going to work well the other day, but why is it going to turn off the black screen this time? Tell me if there's a way to fix it/
I can't play it, heck i can't even find where the game is. After i extracted the file i just get a folder with the only 2 things that are not text files being "codex" and something else with "codex" too. After i click on the other codex, it creates a new drive and calls it the game's name. And there are some things there, but idk where to click. This is the first time that something like this happened.
The main file uploaded is changed to 1.2.5 dude. You don't need to apply the update. I guess the mods forgot to take down those links. Anyways, i checked it and its version 1.2.5.
Is it just me or the game has a lot of graphical glitches? Like coin doesn't show correctly, or health bar doesn't decrease even though you get damage, etc.

this version is 32bits to read the old save, go to C:\user\Name\Appdata\LocalLow\Southpaw Games\Skul Change your old save file's name to replace the the new one( both .DAT and .BAK)
So for some reason it doesn't recognize the pervious save so what I did is: go to C:> users> 'your user'> appdata>local low >southpaw games>skul you will see 2 files of the save, I copied the name of the latest pair of save files that were created and gave them to the previous save files, basically overwriting the new files and making the game think the previous ones are the new ones next time he loads. good luck
NEVER MIND IM STUPID, the fix works fine, i just had to get fresh copy of the 1.0.3 version, i forgot i already messed with it yesterday, i just copied the files over and now it works fine, Thanks for your time mate <3
I love this game, I've enjoyed it a lot and I recommend it to every roguelite lover. But, it lacks. Other than the great skull variety that makes this game have a replay ability, when you beat it for couple of times, you start seeing how repetitive the game is. There is not much to keep you coming because you see the same items, rooms, bosses and so every run other than some mini bosses that have good variety. Only the core gameplay and experimenting with the skulls ability will bring you back but the lack of the item pool will make you be able to reach any build you want almost every run because the way the game works is that you can almost see every item every game. I think they should develop it more, make it deeper, they also need to polish some sections. Another small gripe I had is that it's one of the only combat based roguelites where I encounter unavoidable damage in some incidents, where it doesn't matter how good you are but there is some attacks and some skulls with one dash that can't dodge some attacks. I think this game is hard but it's not unfair and a good player would be able to eventually beat every run. Give it a try because it's really fun but don't expect too much to keep you playing like other games in the genre.
update added a 64build which add almost 2 gbs Edit: what a mess forget the 64build folder that shit is broken, delete that crap -_- game is reduced to 800 mbs
Hey. I have added the game to the steam and still doesn't work. Using steam connection with the PS4 Pad it doesn't work at all.. using DS4Windows it works only with the Start the game (in game doesn't work), but generally in windows/ds4windows settings or in steam controler settings the DualShock works correctly. Does it work for you? Have you done something more than adding the game in the steam? Do you use DS4 or Steam's settings? What are the settings, can you share? Thanks!
For some reason it won't work with a controller. The "press any button to start" on the start screen works, but that is it. Controller works with any other game. I've tried DS4, Ximput, and steam big picture with forced control even. Nothing.
Actually I have drivers set up that let me use a ps3 controller, and it worked. You can probably set up a ps4 controller the same way. (although i opted for keyboard since with my controller it randomly has a tiny spaz to the left when idle or even holding right

At last the full version of this great game has been released . This game is one of the best retro , pixel graphics , 2D , Action game that You can played it and enjoy it in this period of time , We wait for months to get this full rereleased . Try this game guys because its really deserve Your time
Follow up review(?) after finishing the game. Nice game overall. I would give it an score of 85/100. The controls are not clunky, different variants of our little skelly friend are unique and fun to play. Music is decent. Story feels unfinished though, sort of like the kind of comic ending when it gets cut (Our fight has just begun! kind of vibe). And the dialogue in the lobby after you won did not change much, which is a bit disappointing. Also there is some balancing issue with the variants: the ranged types, especially the ones that need to charge their attacks/skills for complete potential, performs very badly against mob swarm, and it's not like they shone when facing bosses either. The fast moving ones like the twins or the champion would be all over the place before charge is complete while the slow ones like chimera or the bishop dish out AOE far too often for you to just stand there and charge.
Well, it does have quite a bunch of content, but lately it has been pretty common to see indie games lack optimization since the standards of PCs is being pushed higher
