Wow! MUCH better than what I thought! The screenshots gave me the impression it would be very basic, but in fact, it's very very well-made game. First, the platforming is never boring. Recently, we see too many indie platformers where the ground is always flat, and there's no level design whatsoever. Here, the level design changes all the time, it's never boring, and clearly one of the best qualities of this game. You'll go up, down, dive in water, fall down mines, climb into trees, it's definitely not flat! lol Secondly, there are many different gameplay mechanics, many of which come directly from 90s platformers ! You can get an armor (like in Ghouls'n'Ghosts), a weapon(so far I saw only 1 weapon) to break walls and uncover secret rooms, can transform into a bird and fly, ride a cart like in Donkey Kong Country or Quackshot, buy bonuses to help you in your progress, etc ! I'm not completely fond of the inertia in the character's movements, but I wonder if the developer couldn't change this. It feels unnecessary, and in my opinion, having no inertia would feel more precise and enjoyable for this particular game. Still, you get used to it very fast and it's perfectly acceptable. Graphics could be better. I mentioned Donkey Kong Country, and clearly this is far from it. It's closer to the old Alex Kidd or Wonder Boy games, which is still okay. Cute, colorful, childish and naive in a good way. Oh, I like that we can use scanlines and screen curvature. Music is very cute and has a positive tone overall. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds like FM synthesis, like what we had on the Megadrive, which is a 10/10 in my book. he he The game is easy, and even VERY easy in some parts.
