Good lord, this has been in dev for three years at least and it's essentially just Xenonauts 1 with a new paintjob. It's decent at times, but so many things that should be changed or added and aren't here, and still tons of placeholders, interception game is exactly the same as X1. Maybe I should just go play Xcom2 long war lol.
I always wanted like a "reverse Xcom," where you play a campaign of aliens invading earth. I have a feeling that's what Xcom2 was at inception, but they chickened out at the last minute and made it instead humans flying around in a mothership reclaiming an alien-conquered earth. Can't prove it, but that's my theory.
For me its working just fine. I finished the battle tutorial and i am now in the Global map and stuff looking very stable and a fun game but don't forget its in Early Access so stuff might missing and we might have problems but so far for me i am having a blast...

unable to load new game after 79%, but hey it did give me hope and then just powerslam it instantly which i for one appreciate more rather than a slow let down
I take it it's not only as bad as the first one, but also buggy as hell? As an old X-com player, I was stoked on the first Xenonauts but this game... Wasted my money completely. Worse than 20+ years old games in every aspect.
Many game breaking bugs, crashes, failure to load etc. Load time is close to 3 min even with ssd. Its gonna be rough if Chris wants to launch it in Feb. He is gonna take a review beating if these things are not fixed.
enjoyed the first one years ago but it looks like they've not really changed much other than the combat is now 3D why did they bother redoing it all over the duration of 4 years and only improve the combat's graphical features lol what're they coding in, assembly?
Oh wow IGG guys are the best! Xenonauts 1 have some irritating issues like enemies shooting through walls, hope with the 3d models they are able to resolve that! Sadly there are no late backer buy in; will have to wait for steam EA. This is so gonna be better than the trash Pheonix Point.
Everyone has their own taste in games. When Phoenix Point first released, i also didn't like it at all. The year one edition is much better, but i like it because it's sort of a "lite" version. That's just my taste.

In the commonly used sense of the word - where you can pay to play the current version - no, that period has passed with the end of their Kickstarter campaign.
