do NOT launch the OMORI.exe,instead find a windows batch file called 'Launch_OMORI.exe' and wait for 10 seconds,the prompt will launch the application and tada.

Anyone trying to get this working through Linux via WINE, put the game folder in your wine prefix (default is .wine/drive_c/), run "wineconsole cmd" and run Launch_OMORI.bat from there
I've seen a lot of comments saying that Igg-games version is broken, only black screen, etc. Even on reddit they're mentioning this.
Maybe the staff fixed something, because I just downloaded today (Feb 16th, 2024) and it works out of the box, just unzip, enter a few folders, run the OMORI.exe.
all my saves have been erased anyone knows why ? actually they are stil there but the save screen is empty but still lets me choose the save I want to load but it dosen't work the setting weren't reseted either
put a 0 and that's it, now you can open the game your game will be lost but it can be recovered -first start a new game up to the first save point -then close the game and go back to your saves folder, open with notepad the file in which you saved (1, 2 or 3) delete everything inside and replace it with the one from your previous game, I mean with which you had already advanced. :)
most games made in rpgmaker engine is like this. 4GB actually will run just fine, some lags can happen few times. They probably will update patch for it later.
Will the ending be affected by the fact that the game is pirated? I know that the Omori devs took precautions against that and i want to know if it's still worth playing.
i don't think anything is different in the pirated version, i can't say for certain, as i chose to buy the ost instead of the game, as a way of supporting the dev (as i'm against buying games with drm).
however, i did just look at some videos to confirm that at least the ending won't be different in this version.
but really, i highly doubt anything is different due to anti-piracy.

Hey guys, so I would run Steamclient_loader.exe because like everybody else the black screen would show up. So it would work after opening it but today I opened it up and gives me the a message- Error: Steam had not been detected. I've been trying to run it for a while but nothing will fix it. I've tried a few ways but still nothing.
for people have the black screen issue i have a fix :) first of all windows defender is deleting some files in the extraction, so it's best if you turn windows defender off when you extract and boot up the game but mainly the fix for me when it continued to be a black screen disconnect from the internet if im not mistaken omori may have some sort of anti-piracy detection through the internet, however when i put on airplane mode b4 opening it, the game worked normally (and then you can turn it back on when the game starts to play) thats what worked for me anyhow :)
run "steamclient_loader.exe" the problem is they renamed "OMORIgame.exe" to "OMORI.exe" and didn't include the original OMORI.exe. but it seems as if the game needs both to run.
you may have already found it, but just in case. steamclient_loader.exe should already be in the original igg rar, if it is missing, it's probably your antivirus deleting it.
steamclient_loader.exe isn't in the "omorifix,zip", it's in the original "OMORI.Build.6681125.rar" igg unloaded. i made a short video that should make it more clear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuUSb7CF00s if any of the files in the video are missing you should double check your antivirus
you get that error if you try and run the game directly from the rar, without extracting it first. if you did extract it, and you still get the error, make sure your antivirus isn't removing the file, than set an exception for it in the antivirus.
All my downloads turned into winzip files. Even when I had winzip uninstalled. Is this normal? When I go to any file extract doesn't appear so I think this is why.

I'm not seeing what you were describing in your original comment so I'll just explain what's happening. when I extracted the ZIP File originally downloaded the folder has an omori and omorigame application. I extracted both but it only gives me things like data, text, and icons. When I tried to run the omorigame application as admin it still says I need nw_elf.dll. the omori one just seems to load forever. sorry lol
i don't think i'm allowed to upload a link to just a .dll file (for good reason), but nw_elf.dll should be in the OMORI.Build.6681125.rar file. the only thing i can think of is just redownloading both OMORI.Build.6681125.rar and omorifix,zip. i posted a video above, so if you're missing any of the files in that video, there is a good chance it's your antivirus.
It worked for me for a while but stopped after a few days, gives me an error saying, Error: Steam had not been detected. I don't know how to fix it if possible could you tell me how if by chance you do.
are you launching it from steamclient_loader.exe or OMORI.exe? Edit: i know you posted a separate message above saying steamclient_loader.exe. but I'm just making sure because i only get that error when running OMORI.exe
You should first disable your antivirus before extracting the file and run it on administrator Not disabling the antivirus deletes the cracked files for the game to run.
Mine worked when I first disabled my antivirus then extracting the file. if you extracted it while your antivirus is on it will delete the cracked files.
if u see no installer : reinstall with disabled anti virus if u have black screen : try to run as administrator or look into FAQ ( i have blackscreen and nothing helped :C )
I disabled everything I could find, ran the game as administrator (there are two, OMORI and OMORIgame, not sure what the difference is but I did it for both) but I still get a black screen. Someone suggested to run the game through the steamclient but I can't find it (I checked my AV to see if it's there, but it's not), anyone have a clue???
just downloaded it, it works great for me! When using the installer make sure to check the patch game option and windows defender deletes the crack files to disable it completely and have fun :)

yep, managed to fix the problem. The file had been deleted so I re-downloaded the whole game just to get the file and but it in the old game folder (which has my progress) and this time I actually marked it as an exception so that doesnt happen again. Big relief I didnt lose all my progress ^__^

yeah i've been kinda suffering to open the game, i've disabled antiviruses and firewalls, i've made an exception for the game, i've opened as admin, and the steam emulator still gets deleted every time, anybody got any ideas how to fix this?
Delete your files, deactivate windows defenses and re-download, cuz when the defenses block it they erase the file (the trojan) that let's you use the game for free

it keeps disappearing because your sensitive antivirus (or if you don't have antivirus windows defender, windows' built in antivirus) is detecting the hack file as a false positive virus and removing it. I resolved the issue. the windows antivirus keeps detecting it and in the first time I didnt do anything so it quarantined the file, but afterwards I allowed it.

guuuuuys literaly just make the folder in wich the whole omori game is stored as an exception on your anti viruses; make a folder, name it OMORI, then go to your AV thingamajig and make that folder an exception for antivirus shenaniganery, finally unrar omori into the OMORI folder you created that worked for me

Sounds like your AV may have got it. Randomly disappearing files are almost always the case where you don't have your AV configured properly and let it yoink whatever, wherever, whenever.

Well I think there was a lot of things that they changed in the game since it became more popular than expected, you can tell just for the trailers that even the history must have been rewrited 2 or 3 times, I was working on a video about the game and watching all the trailers after finishing the game you can see almost every concept that they cutted on the final version, in the 2017 for example the Monster on the Train was called Dorothy and I think it was directly attatched to Omori's Mother but we can't say for sure since its name was changed to Something in the final version and Omori's mother wasn't introduced in the game at all. so if it was for better 6 years was fair enough for me since the experience was INCREDIBLE
I don't get the overwhelmingly positive reviews though. I felt sleepy on the first 30mins I wish I was able to cheat engine the speed to get to the point. What exactly is good with the game? some unanswered questions though: Why were they fighting? why the fk is their first action to fake the suicide instead of confessing it was an accidental death(except maybe it wasn't?) It was so much filler for 5 stages of grief lol
There are many different kind of games. You have to know what to expect. The good reviews are because its an extraordinary game for its genre. If you expected something else then it makes sense you would be bored/dissapointed.
Haha, not how that works my friend. The game installs in your "program files(x86)" file, as most programs do. But unlike most games it also puts the saves in that file wich is an action that requires admin privileges.

You have to re download it. I don't know if you will miss your save file, but I think you can transfert it manually in the new version, but I'm not sure.

Between 20-30 hours if you fully explore (sidequest, optional boss, etc), but the game have many endings so there is a replay value. People are still finding new secret about the game. 😁
Is there any possible way to get back to headspace after beating the game, without starting over? I suppose I shouldve managed my saves better but there was a whole bunch of stuff I never got to do in headspace.
The story is, The gameplay itself isn't, but some part of it are, for exemple, the emotions status effect are really fell designed and feel kindof fresh.
I wouldn't say that it's really unique but the way how it's vital story moments were executed was fantastic. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it's something worth to experience.

I got a little past Space boyfriend, and after that I decided the game wasn't worth my time. the pacing sucks, the battling sucks. and the entire " real world " part after space boyfriend is boring as fuck, and the combat somehow gets worse. the pacing is always an issue with the game, I watched a full playthrough of it and the person playing it agreed it's a mess from an RPG standpoint. the art didn't wow me, the writing and themes weren't too amazing ( and after seeing the endings, glad I didn't waste time finding out myself ) itys FOTM and will only get youtuber /streamer recognition as it is a very linear path ( or you can just die in multiple places/times as " endings ' really compelling stuff )

I already know this won't change your pov, but let me tell you, this game is far from average. It achieved undertale level of quality and abstract humor, its story is one of the most emotionally viable one I've seen in a video game so far and its music and art are just well made. This game isn't trying to be Edgy for the sake of being Edgy, the story is (SPOILER WARNING HERE) literally about unintentional murder of a family member, HEAVY depression and it features accurate representations of guilt, fear, anxiety, bullying and isolation. The story REVOLVE around these, so they're not here for nothing, they're tools for story telling and part of the story itself. While the gameplay is RPGMaker-y, it also features custom mechanics and serves its narrative well, it's not redundant for the sake of wasting your time, you're just playing it in an unoptimal way. It's like saying the genocide route in undertale is "boring" and "repetitive", yes, that's the point, you SHOULDN'T be doing that in the first place. No one asked you to recycle 20 items at a time, it's not mendatory. Saying this game is "yet another RPGMaker garbo" is both untrue and extremely unfair to the creator, no other RPG maker game i've seen has yet to reach this quality in either Chara design, music, art or emotional story telling. And while this game sure ISN'T the "next level undertale rpg revolution" it's still damn good for the engine it was made in. I would never support these specific devs. game may be cool and all but they nearly scammed all their backers on kickstarter (I say NEARLY because they finally released it after 6 long years). it was ridiculous how they stalled time selling T-shirts while 0 development for the actual game was being made.
The series wasn't a game in the first place; it was a small adaptation, but the kickstarter exceeded their goals. So they had to make it more interesting, add more story, and went all-out. Not to mention one of the devs is also a dev for RPGMAKER, they had to deal with that and then REMAKING ALL ASSETS to MV from Ace. Thus the long time of development, it's all reasonable. I'd get it if the team is a corp, but this is totally indie.

The dev is a small team making all from scratch. Even one of the main dev is the one making the software itself; they had little time to work on this, manually drawing and scanning everything, and they had to remake everything when they migrated to rpgmaker mv. As for the lags etc, it's just some bug the engine is known for. Expect updates and patches for the lag, they are working on the plugins.

Nope, the porting and remaking from RPG maker VX ace to MV alone is a super long process. The size of things are DIFFERENT and every single line of programming + plugin is in a whole language. Losing respect just bc it took long (while it's done by few people, not a company), then you just can't appreciate their work.

Agreed for the long time; but making the game isn't initially their main job. Most images and animated expression are hand drawn, and the engine migrating at one point midway development made them REMAKE all the graphics. It only make sense. But yeah they put effort to the game, unlike you-know dev.
This game is 2GB in total. An average rpgmaker game is about 300MB~, roughly 5-10 hours gameplay. You can already tell the amount of content of this game is hella bigus. For that reason I can ignore the lag and bugs, totally worth it. Though it'd be pretty epic if someone port this to Android.
Yeah, it shows how much content in this game! Android port is very likely with MV, but yeah the file size can be a problem. Though I sometimes found JRPGs with same engine around 1.5 GB and it run smoothly.

yep around that time for me as well, seems to be around 15-20 hours depending on how much side content you look for, I looked for it pretty heavily so my game time ended around 22 hours but I could see that being way lower if you're mostly playing for story.

Maybe the staff fixed something, because I just downloaded today (Feb 16th, 2024) and it works out of the box, just unzip, enter a few folders, run the OMORI.exe.
actually they are stil there but the save screen is empty but still lets me choose
the save I want to load but it dosen't work
the setting weren't reseted either
if someone has this problem I have a solution
your game will be lost but it can be recovered
-first start a new game up to the first save point
-then close the game and go back to your saves folder, open with notepad the file in which you saved (1, 2 or 3) delete everything inside and replace it with the one from your previous game, I mean with which you had already advanced. :)

it might be a regional issue idk, let me know what file sharing website you can access and i'll try to upload it there too.
first of all windows defender is deleting some files in the extraction, so it's best if you turn windows defender off when you extract and boot up the game
but mainly the fix for me when it continued to be a black screen
disconnect from the internet
if im not mistaken omori may have some sort of anti-piracy detection through the internet, however when i put on airplane mode b4 opening it, the game worked normally (and then you can turn it back on when the game starts to play)

the problem is they renamed "OMORIgame.exe" to "OMORI.exe" and didn't include the original OMORI.exe. but it seems as if the game needs both to run.
steamclient_loader.exe should already be in the original igg rar, if it is missing, it's probably your antivirus deleting it.

if any of the files in the video are missing you should double check your antivirus
if you did extract it, and you still get the error, make sure your antivirus isn't removing the file, than set an exception for it in the antivirus.
but you should be able to fix it by changing the default to a different archive/extracting program such as 7zip or winrar (i'd recommend 7zip).

when I extracted the ZIP File originally downloaded the folder has an omori and omorigame application. I extracted both but it only gives me things like data, text, and icons. When I tried to run the omorigame application as admin it still says I need nw_elf.dll. the omori one just seems to load forever. sorry lol
the only thing i can think of is just redownloading both OMORI.Build.6681125.rar and omorifix,zip.
i posted a video above, so if you're missing any of the files in that video, there is a good chance it's your antivirus.

Not disabling the antivirus deletes the cracked files for the game to run.
if you extracted it while your antivirus is on it will delete the cracked files.
if u have black screen : try to run as administrator or look into FAQ

the pacing is always an issue with the game, I watched a full playthrough of it and the person playing it agreed it's a mess from an RPG standpoint.
the art didn't wow me, the writing and themes weren't too amazing ( and after seeing the endings, glad I didn't waste time finding out myself )
itys FOTM and will only get youtuber /streamer recognition as it is a very linear path ( or you can just die in multiple places/times as " endings ' really compelling stuff )

It achieved undertale level of quality and abstract humor, its story is one of the most emotionally viable one I've seen in a video game so far and its music and art are just well made.
This game isn't trying to be Edgy for the sake of being Edgy, the story is (SPOILER WARNING HERE) literally about unintentional murder of a family member, HEAVY depression and it features accurate representations of guilt, fear, anxiety, bullying and isolation.
The story REVOLVE around these, so they're not here for nothing, they're tools for story telling and part of the story itself.
While the gameplay is RPGMaker-y, it also features custom mechanics and serves its narrative well, it's not redundant for the sake of wasting your time, you're just playing it in an unoptimal way.
It's like saying the genocide route in undertale is "boring" and "repetitive", yes, that's the point, you SHOULDN'T be doing that in the first place.
No one asked you to recycle 20 items at a time, it's not mendatory.
Saying this game is "yet another RPGMaker garbo" is both untrue and extremely unfair to the creator, no other RPG maker game i've seen has yet to reach this quality in either Chara design, music, art or emotional story telling.
And while this game sure ISN'T the "next level undertale rpg revolution" it's still damn good for the engine it was made in.
