Thanks for the link. I can finally play that game (which is far behind the 1994 classic btw)

Look at the official files here : https://steamdb.info/depot/1420851/
There is two missing folders : "CyberTaxi_Data/Managed" and "MonoBleedingEdge"(that is why you get the mono error message at first place). Someone forgot to include them in the igg archive. There is no way to fix this, only solution is a reupload.

Antivirus gave a suspicious file alert for the game exe file. Anyway the game doesn't start giving "failed to load mono" error.

It doesn't seem as bad as the comments say, and it's a respectable effort for a remake of the original game.
Needs further testing, though.
But if I had to choose, I'd rather just play the https://igg-games.com/carmageddon-max-damage-free-351013540-download.html.

lol You're right.
But let's say, if I wanted to crush pedestrians in various goofy ways and race cool cars with weapons and stuff, I'd prefer Carmageddon. The maps were more interesting. (I mean both original game and remake)

I was on the fence about getting the remake after the previous installments (outside of 1 & 2) didn't have that bone-crushing excitement with a bad ass soundtrack to boot. I might give it a go if it's as fun as you say it is.

For a second there I thought this was some weird mod of a classic death race game, Carmageddon.
Also ain't it amusing how so many are jumping on the bandwagon hype for a game that clearly went off the rails from the start? Who wants to reference their game on that?

Can't help it. It's what I do. Besides, you came in this conversation acting like an ass. And you're expecting no clap back from it? And I thought I was the crazy one...
How about you read below where am I tearing Vinny Vinesauce a new one and you'll understand what I'm getting at. Regardless, you still haven't explained yourself why you're trying to play a knockoff when you could be playing the original. Can't find it? Need some help? Or are you into knockoffs? Just sayin.

Is English not your first language or do you just not fully understand what's actually going on in a conversation? Yes i gave an ass reply to an ass comment, I never said I didn't expect "clap back"...lol And your below rant that you call "tearing a new one" is more like grasping at straws in attempt to make a single unimportant point. And why did I want to download this? Because I enjoyed Quarantine and Road Warrior and this is a clear fan project dedicated to the same concept...Maybe because I don't judge game by the title like a child. The fact that you are in a pirating site throwing a hissy fit over an indie games name most defiantly makes you the crazy one in the conversation. lol If it makes you anymore mad i just went ahead and purchased the game and its well worth the 6 bucks.
Try harder next time <3

Regardless, you enjoy that game, o' player of virtue. And I do mean that, honestly. Why someone who is responding to save face on a place like this is beyond me, but pettiness is universal it seems. Might as well be honest with yourself and embrace it.
I've made my point sound unlike the surly pirate who's only defense is "what's in a name". Now, if you care to debate about this, by all means. But, taken that you're glancing over solid theories shows me that this will undoubtedly be a match with someone with selective reading. I'll try to find some entertainment from it, don't worry.
And as far as you stating that I can't riff on something I have not tried, the same can be said about your defense taken you haven't gotten the blasted thing to work before you decided to rub your ass in this conversation. But sure, you're the higher being here...
Regardless, enjoy the game. I respect that you supported the devs. I question your decision making to pick your battles, but eh, It's all good.

"Why someone who is responding to save face on a place like this is beyond me, but pettiness is universal it seems." This coming from the guy that seems to visit this place just to try to start petty pointless arguments. You are honestly stupid or just a really really bad troll. You keep thinking you are making a serious statement by pointing out the obvious...are you really this mind blown or disgruntled over games following trends? Because that's what happens to literally everything in this world. You keep viewing your self as some type of winner of the very pointless conversation yet you have yet to say anything of any importance or relevance. You are either just now realizing the reality that life is based on trends or just super salty about cyberpunk....I find it odd that somebody with an anime pic is so upset over trends.
GG though

I stated my opinion (be it popular or not) and your punk ass came over to drop your 2 cents. Was it worthwhile? Pivotal? Informative? Nah, you're just taking the piss. There was nothing valuable about it.
And here you are trying to dodge. So much that you accidentally (perhaps) confirmed that I was right about "games following trends" as you just stated. Thank you. You understood me. People will try to chase the hype and some will attempt to capitalize it thus why they probably went with the name. So the argument is over, yes?
I have no favoritism for Cyberpunk. Could take it or leave it when it comes to getting it. I was only interested on the repeated history of hype and what it does to people like it was for Fallout 76 and the initial release of No Man's Sky.
Regardless, if you wanna feel victorious, go for it. I am indeed trolling and my bait is good; you're still responding to me after all. Either way I'm still amused from all of this whatever you decide to do next.

CyberTaxi.
Cyber. Taxi.
Cyber........ Taxi.
Thanks for the nostalgia education, but whoever decided to drop that title for this ripoff knew what they were doing. Release date: October 2020; just weeks before the anticipated drop of Cyberpunk. They wanted to catch some of that wave. And sometimes it works at least enough to get folks talking, like right now.
Regardless, it was fun to read.

So your logic is that any game with Cyber in the title is trying to be like Cyberpunk 2077.. !?! LMFAO!! Great flawed logic there, shitbird..
First of all.. Cyberpunk 2077 is a failed rip off on the tabletop games.. it aint original no matter what your daddy tells you.. Second .. This game has NOTHING to do with Cyberpunk 2077 .. Just because it has Cyber in the title means nothing.. You gonna tell me now that all the games with "Cyber" in the title that came before Cyberpunk 2077 were cashing in on Cyberpunk 2077 and trying to rip it off!?!?
How much drugs are you on to come up with an idiotic answer like that..!?! .. Cyber taxi is a complete shitty ass remake of a 1994 game called Quarantine .. if you looked at the video I linked you, you'd see that gameplay is IDENTICAL.. But noooo.. Its trying to cash in and rip off Cyberpunk 2077.. LOL
No offence to your fangasms.. But nobody wants to rip off or cash in on Cyberpunk 2077.. Its a shit game made by a shit company and deserves to FAIL.

It's fair to argue that the name has no similarity to Cyberpunk (although there is escorting/driving parts in the game as well), but it can also be argued that it is. There's no evidence of either outside of the timing.
You said it yourself that the original game came out in the '94. 26 years later some dev out there decided to take on a similar retro aesthetic with a futuristic feel and make/copy a game out of it. Then PR decided with this name. Coincidence? Perhaps. Unless they're referencing the cyber truck Elon Musk created, then you got me there. But why that name? "Cyber". They could've went with "techno", "future", "digital", "virtual". But nope, they went with "cyber"....for some reason.
Another thing you said was "nobody wants to rip off or cash in on Cyberpunk 2077". Duly noted. Since this was launched in October 2020, clearly someone in the team would be aware of the one game that's been hyped over the last year and how just maybe that having the word "cyber" may not be a good move to distance themselves from that. I mean... they already have shown that they are a ambitious crew, full of original ideas, and good morals that they wouldn't dare jack someone's flow. Nah. These are good bois.
But you got me there. No one's trying to chase clout off of Cyberpun-- https://igg-games.com/cyber-crush-2069-free-download.html But hey...you have bested me.
Damn, who hurt you? Here's a doll. Tell me where CDPR touched you. I won't tell anyone.

You're perfectly right. In fact, we've seen plenty of "cyberpunk" games in the past few years, ever since the development of Cyberpunk 2077 started. Cyberpunk wasn't dead before(I always loved the Deus Ex games), but it sure wasn't trendy. CP 2077 rejuvenated the genre.
The Hunie Pop game you linked is just one example, but yeah there are hundreds of similar games now which try to do that, including "Tales of the Neon Sea", for example. As a matter of fact, right now, I'm reading that the developers even admitted they were inspired and motivated by what they saw from the development of CP 2077.
I don't know about the game "The Last Night", though, but its development definitely started after CP 2077.
It's SO obvious, so it doesn't make sense to say that there's no "bandwagon" phenomenon. It's a natural thing which has always existed, and which can potentially concern every genre.
It's how the market works. Whether it's a remake of an old game or not is completely irrelevant.

That's true. Like you said, it's almost instinct to roll with the big dogs mostly in hopes to gain something from it. It can be about any genre or any topic and the results received will still be the same (money and/or admiration).
Take your pick. From cars that drive itself, designer shoes with added flair, TV show and their tropes big enough for a website to archive it all, music trends no matter how annoying it may be, cosmetics made to woo your senpai, foods ready to be glamorized on Instagram, even down to garbage disposal methods to house all those fad rejects.
When it comes to games I personally liked the Yandere Simulator hype. Some of the expy-types were better than the hype game itself. "Watashi no Mono" and "Yandere School" are promising alternatives since the YanDev is still adding features instead of completing the game to some point. Regardless, that's how clout-chasing may result in some success.
How he's not aware of that is beyond me. I blame the absolute RRRRRRAAAGE clouding his judgment, but eh... I'm finding enjoyment of this.
