to those having trouble with opening start.exe -- go to task manager, background processes, and CLOSE ALL INSTANCES OF START.EXE, then go to the folder "setup" and launch setup.exe (may need to use compatibility to Win 7 or Win XP). otherwise you'll get errors on setup.exe. other than that follow the "how to install" document and you should be good to go.
Getting it to open but it keeps loading all the expansions, and then repeats.... Do I have to let it load the expansions multiple times? I let it run through twice and said fuck it
I don't know what made it successful in the end, but I did the following: Right click on Start.exe, properties, compatibility, check Compatibility mode, select Windows XP service pack 3
Beforehand, I cut out all the extension folders, placed them on my desktop, and started exe. Then you are told to insert the CD. I moved all the folders back to their original location, closed The Sims with the Task Manager and then restarted it. Then the installation just runs through again and then it works. I think method 1 was it, but just in case...
It's your antivirus or Windows defender, if you have PC. Whatever overlooks your PC security, you need to turn it off when you play or make an exclusion for the app.
all the people in the comments are saying it's broken and not working, so that leads me to think it's a rat or something. idk tho, im more or less being cynical about it lol
That mostly just means that it's a popular download. The quantity of people who know straight up nothing about piracy that come to this site and fail to follow simple instructions is... significant. In a casual game like this, the number is going to be significantly higher. There are some games on this site that don't work correctly due to issues with their cracks, but it is a pretty low number. There's definitely no malicious files on this site, if that's what you mean by a rat. Site's too big to get away with having malicious files anywhere on it. It'd have been discovered by now.
This site is distantly the best site of its type. It does so many things that no other sites of this type does. If you spend any real amount of time here, you'll understand.
I've installed this through Porting Kit on my mac, but when I open the game it loads a black screen and then closes. Replaced the cracked file as well.
Hello Jason, I hope you resolved the issue on your own. If not, and for anyone else, you may need to do either things.
Run on compatibility mode for (Windows 98)
Turn off your antivirus / Windows Defender when you play I get the same issue with Sims 4, but I made an exclusion path using my Antivirus and I can save as normal, but better safe than sorry. ALSO, do not play the game for long periods of time and then save, because that makes the save time longer and that could also trigger the error as well. Good luck!
For anyone else, you need to run as an Admin and on compatibility mode (Windows 98 preferably). This is a very old game, and won't work on newer systems without it.
I fully installed this but when I got it done (installed crack etc.), it asks for the CD every time and I have to click "continue" three times, then it loads. Any fix to this slightly annoying thing?
So, i downloaded The Sims Complete Collection. Somehow when i get into the game, where you see the houses and can create a family or change to another town, it wont stop loading the neighborhoods and stuff. the screens that say something like; ''please wait, there are some fans running around looking for celebreties''. it stops for a second, but if i want to click anywhere, nothing happens and the screens pop up again. what's wrong?
If anyone has this issue: I don't know what exactly worked but I lauchedl it in compatibility mode for Windows 98 and as an administrator and it worked. It will (or at least it did for me) do those loading screens again, but only once, and youlle be able to play afterwards
What is your operating system? If you right click the icon on your desktop, scroll down to the bottom and click "Properties." Then go and click on the "Compatability" tab. That will give a list. There is a checkmark on that will say "Allow program to run in compatability mode" or something along those lines. Check that box, and click the dropdown button, and go the lowest OS you can. Anything that's Windows 7 or below works. Prefereddly, if you could get it to be compatible with Windows XP, that would work wonders.
Most of links say the file is no longer available or it is unavailable to be accessed in my country - the others just send me to a lot of ads. So what I'm asking is someone to post the file again to google drive or a better file sharing site... and thanks for your concern, fabio

Every time I try to install I get an error: Error extracting files from support, catastrophic failure.
Thanks
