Its a proven style. If you think about it, all these years nobody has come up with something better then the set design from Alien. All the sequels and any horror in space movie or TV show, just imitates the sets from Alien. And sometimes its done well. You just have to do it well and its all you really need. What I'm saying is that one movie SET A BAR ALL THESE YEARS. How do you under-estimate doing that. Its probably MORE imitated then star wars. NOBODY, all these years, has really been able to come up with something else. Let alone better. Basically an industrial "Haunted house". But it was also cyberpunk. Grungy and stark lighting.
