Is only me encountering the loading stuck issue or not? I got the same loading stuck when loading the third tutorial mission and a random scavenging mission, it always stuck there and can't proceed the game at all.
You are absolutely correct. The further you dig, the more crap you find. It is like theh new StarWars trilogy; first people loss their mind over SW7 and then SW8, they begin to doubt and SW7 does not seem so gd after all, and when SW9 arrived, they finally realised what the bunch of money grabbing crap the whole enterprise was. It is the same case with the game; at first you got some cool toys to play with, and then a few hours later after you encounter balance issues, you begin to realise 'wtf'; and then a few more hours later, you finally noticed how shallow and lame the whole gameplay is (exp. shallow base building & resources that magically pops up every term). I am glad i didn't pay money for this. Edit: You want real depth and the ability to implement strategy? You want to try out some infantry tactics like leapfrogging (self implemented of course) and suppression fire? Then, play Xenonauts; try it out first, and if you enjoyed it, support the the Xenoauts devs. Fair warning, the graphics are dated by the gameplay is top-notch. Cheers
Gotta agree, loved all of xcom and xenonauts, but this just felt horrible in all regards and it was hard to put a finger on why, when in reality it was just the fact that every feature of the game was subpar. Nothing amazing about the game just copying the xcom formula and then doing it horribly. All that in addition to the clusterfuck of deciding not to release on steam at first and now its clear why.
i didnt try this game yet. but i tried both XCOM and it really good in my opinion. isnt this game developed by the same person as XCOM? if so then how this game fails you?
Like a i mentioned, you will probably get a few hours of enjoyment from the interesting mechanism they have like free aiming..but soon you will realise that it is just a gimick, doesn't really add depth to the game; it doesn't really advance your strategy. Then soon you will be hit with imbalance; then you will start save-scumming and it gets boring quickly because there is not enough depth for you to implement strategies to counter imbalances. You will also notice that a pistol shot will destroy thick walls (which is dumb); then your go to strategy becomes material destruction, then hit the enemy when their covery is destroyed..then it gets boring. If you are a person who get hates grinding and repetition bores you, you will not like this game. Not worth their asking price, but try it out and see, you might enjoy it. Who knows.
thanks for the explanation, mate. really appreciate your take on the mechanics. although im not quite understand, because i mainly play fps. but thanks anyway, hope u had a great day and find the perfect video game for you
I am pro-indie, always trying to support indie devs if they deserve it, but this here...Snapshot does not deserve your support. Jumping to Epic exclusivity is an big problem..if exclusivity becomes a widespread thing, it creates monsters that strangle consumer rights. Case in point: look at Epic store, so many years now and still, no forum, no user reviews, nothing; the monster does not want you, the consumer, to have a voice; screw them and their weekly 'free games'; they are poison candy. Snapshot lap all that crap up and produced a mediocre game. You might enjoy this game, good for you, but it is boring af imoh; clearly the devs slacked off after getting a fat paycheck from Epic; these devs does not deserve your support and does not want your support; also they have been bought by THQ recently, so they are no longer indie..so please don't feel bad for 'trying' this game. Thanks IGG for letting people try before supporting. Cheers.
snapshot is basically julian gollop + his team... julian did a good job with first xcoms but i played his later works also and they are kinda shit... i personally tracked him and chaos reborn for a long time and i bought it and played it also.. but it was showing greed and cash need of him so much so i didnt even bothered when phoenix point got stolen from steam days before its early release... this game must be like an early beta or paradox game ... so i ll pass for another year...
No wonder he dumped Snapshot and sold it at the first opportunity. He sold like 100% of the studio..a fat golden parachute...PP is not going to get better, it has been abondoned by its creator
You know what's crazier? Darkest Dungeon 2 is Ebitch exclusive too. Unlike these games, which are practically finished products that need a bit of playtesting, everyone knows DD totally relies on its fanbase to check the pile of hot garbage that Red Hook pumped out and make it actually playable. Now it is on ebitch, there will be no customer feedback, no community, no workshop, no nothing. And I bet most people wouldn't bother to join the dev's discord just to report a bug they found. So there is a higher chance for DD 2 to become a failure by the time it comes to Steam, then get bashed hard and makes the devs go bankrupt. It is not even a figurative speech, since Red Hook is really short on money right now.
Can't wait to buy DD2 day one because unless you abstain completely you're still sending the message that the behavior is acceptable. We all know you whiny little piss babies are in capable of denying yourselves gratification. If you wanna have bunk ass morals and ideals in spite of capitalism, at least have them be consistent. If you buy the game at all, even if you wait for it on steam, you're literally just showing them that you're fine with waiting, and taking exclusivity deals is fine. No one threw this much of a bitch fit over origin or Uplay. Y'all fuckin wild lmao.
You don't haveta tell me twice when it comes to Epic. There's been a number of potential games that have been poached from Steam that got karma'd pretty hardcore. One being Ooblets which had one heck of a fanbase all awaiting for it to release on Steam, even having a crowdfunding with the promise of coming to said platform. Much like Rockstar Games (who clearly wasn't hurting for money), they smelled the leafy greens and went for it and got burned from it. It's almost as if if you turn on your fans for a sketchy company (who's trying to go toe-to-toe with fricken Apple cause they wanna double dip without sharing) they probably won't like that too much. Insane concept, I know....
Great turn-based tactic game . Very close to xcom gameplay . I like it very much . Thanks for this upload . I have a very long list for turn-based games . I will put it later .
