Reminds me of Dragon Force on Sega Saturn, except battles are more tactical, but the rest of the game SEEMS to be more story-driven.(not sure yet) https://youtu.be/9VjqM7f4ObM?t=240
If you wouldn't have written this already, I would have just now. xD Sadly the 2nd game never came out in the west but thanks to ze internetz / Ebay I finally got my hands on it. So many good Saturn games never came out in the west...
They can even though I don't know how precise the Saturn emulation is now. It was quite bad for a long time. I normally play on my real Saturn and using the Action Replay 4M Plus as an import adapter, even though I got RetroArch and other standalone emulator and the ISOs. The swap trick also works for playing burned games and imports, but you want a memory card (the AR 4M Plus also is a memory card) because the Saturn's build-in memory is powered by a 2032 battery and all saves will be gone if it dies.
I actually still have the original CD and box in mint condition and I treasure it! he he But yeah, me too, I discovered the second game only much later in life with emulation! The truth is, the PS1 was much more popular especially because most Saturn games weren't released in the west. (well, that, and the PS1 had more Tomb Raider games, Resident Evil 2, etc) Everybody thinks that the PS1 had more RPGs, but in fact, when you go watch videos about all of the unreleased games on Saturn, it was really enormous. I have downloaded 388 Saturn games(90% are Japanese lol) and I barely scratched the surface. lol
Yeah, still have my original Dragon Force 1 on the shelves too. Many great games like Grandia (first and best on Saturn), Langrisser 3-5, Terra Phantastica, Suikoden, Shining Force Part II and III (all three games cut together into one for the western release) etc. never made it to the west.
Eh, I guess if you squint hard it doesn't. I should correct myself, it looks more like a cheap Sengoku Rance/Nobunaga Ambition game. Still shitty though, translation is just broken english. But I suppose the "turn based world map/real time battles" does remind me of the Total War formula. So there is something similar there.
Man, love the racist overtones despite your username being Fiona. Maybe if I squint hard enough too, you wouldn't smell like a fish. Might as well say black people are naturally predisposed to commit a crime since most people in prison, in the US are black- you know, despite the statistical rate of black people going to prison in Europe being kinda normal. I mean, if all Asian games are cheap knockoffs, going by your logic, you Have to smell like fish, right?
been playing sengoku rance and it s nothing like it as rance is more turn based if anything. it is more of dragon force then all thing you mentioned https://youtu.be/hIdlvWIvSe0
