I liked and bought LIS 1, but after buying first ep of LIS2 I just had to cleanse my eyes with bleach because of that weird highly racist overdone exaggerated drama in the beginning of the story where a police officer had to go intervene with a kid's fight and how the entire police force tagged children as young as 9 as...terrorists just cuz they're latino.... and they open fired at said child like... why? no investigation at all like "hey let's get this kids into the most wanted list lel" lost all my faith in dontnod due to this nothing to do with this game tho, just a rant.
tbf, Dontnod likes the exaggerated characters. Remember the security guy/Chloe's stepdad and his creepy obsession with home surveillance and keeping his weird watch over some of the students? Like, kudos to the guy in the end if you make the choices where he saves you, but damn. DontNod already doesn't know how to write characters and this one is no exception, transgender or not. I just hate how you "aren't allowed" to criticize or point out anything about transgenders or transgender characters, simply because they're transgender. They're the most sensitive group of people on Earth. It's like, just because I'm asexual, it doesn't give me the right to act like an entitled, shitty person, like the main character in this game does.

Those things that should be footnotes at best if even mentioned being the forefront of your marketing... How little confidence does one have in their own product if 'we need reinforcements from social pressure to shut you up about any complaints you'd have about this game' has to be threatened just starting it up?
It's your typical SJW bobble head logic. First make a politically/socially charged product of interest to a small minority of people. Then be shocked when very few people buy your niche product. Lastly, go out of business long before you're able to make any kind of social/political difference. You'd think it would be better to start with a product of mass appeal first and add shades of whatever your agenda is. Amen, you hit the nail on the head. This blatant pandering is ruining not only gaming as whole but, most other mediums, too. Movies, internet content, books, etc. This is the main reason why The Last of Us II was such a disappointment. Pandering was put in the forefront and actually good writing was an afterthought. And they still didn't sell well because people saw through their bullshit this time. You can't market a game as having a good story and then completely screw up that part of the game. Another great example is Life Is Strange 2, that game was absolutely terrible, all it had to say was "Trump is bad, racism bad" and I really don't need a game to tell me that. Poor character development and writing in that game, as well. I see no place for pandering in my games, all it does is piss me off and ruin the entire experience because all you feel as you play is how much they're trying and failing to appeal to a specific group of people for no real reason at all.
