@ALL: I have seen many people complaining about game crash, maybe crack is not stable right now with 100% of users. I hope EMPRESS will release new crack in the near future. Don't delete the game in a hurry, I'll upload cracks only in the future.
I tried this fix from u/Calijor from reddit and it does work for me!
NOTE: Do not run random commands you read off the internet unless you at least have a cursory understanding of what's going on. This command is deleting a registry key specific to the game which is generally going to be safe.
Try running
reg delete "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\The Creative Assembly\THREE_KINGDOMS\Preferences\first_time" /v "last_content_alert_seen" /f from a command prompt every time before you launch it. Make sure you're running the game in administrator as well.
You can save it as batch file as well. Just paste that into a notepad document and save it then change .txt to .bat. Then double clicking it will just run that command automatically.
The game should run fine the first time that you open it. However, if you run the game for the second time or more and it crash again; you have to delete the "scripts" folder (it contain the preferences file) in the "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\ThreeKingdoms"
type "%appdata" without quotemark into the search bar or window explorer //this should bring you to the "\AppData\Roaming" directory
look for "The Creative Assembly" then "ThreeKingdoms"
delete the "scripts" folder (if this doesn't work try deleting the "logs" folder too)
run the .bat file that you created earlier
Start the game (preferably in administrator mode)

Damn, so many steps, lol I did tried this game on Linux instead (I guess installing the entire OS to test one game is just as complicated). Honestly, idk if 3K is worth the effort, looks to be a acceptable game for like $15 or so (I am a huge TW fan by the way), slight better than Thrones of Britannia, but not that good either
Why it doesn't work for me i don't understand, it crashes me to desktop in few seconds,i pasted crack files in to the game direction and all but still...
that's also what i did, one thing i notice is that the game doesn't load that fast so you have to wait when opening the game other than that i have no clue.
Do I really have to explain what a false positive is? The method used to crack games is similar to the method used to code m-a-l-w-a-r-e! Anti-virus programs will detect the crack as a virus and delete it, even though it isn’t! :)
When downloading six files and then installing to last step, appears EMPRESS>EMP.dll Error message, and then game cannot be entered. Is there a way to solve it? thx
i fixed it by using graphics cards driver software Geforce 430.86 still rarely crash after i am become king in campaign mode, but not always so my suggestion auto save is always on.
for the black terrain in campaign map i had to copy all "terrain.pack" file from old version total war three kingdom file, the "terrain3.pack" only is not working on me.

The crack simply does not work, crashes after you skip the intro logos all the time. Windows 10 or 11. Well, I will give it a shot to the older crack, version 1.1.0 There's no way in hell I gonna actually buy this game blindly, Creative Assembly is not a reliable developer at all. And there's always the Linux (Distro) option if everything else fails
I found the solution. You need download the old version of three kingdom. Once downloaded, go to the three kingdom file (old version) copy terrain.pack and terrain3.pack and paste it in the new version three kingdom file.
Just download using torrent it still works. Additionally mod just said that the dlc aren't cracked yet so we will have to wait. Time to wait just like how we waited for the crack on TWTK game launch date.

Hi! for those who are having black terrain problems with battle and campaign maps, you have to download the CODEX version and then copy " terrain 1 and terrain 3" data pack then paste it in the EMPRESS version.
As far as I know, this is the only solution to the black terrain problem. I've tried the Vietnamese patch that was roaming around but it doesn't work anymore.
im confused bout one thing tho, how is older version of the game bigger than this one. Edit: downloadin that one, it will take 6 hours or so but hope it will be worth the wait

It doesnt work, like at all. So you extract it, it works you load in game although fucking game is all black. Download files to fix sed error and it changes to Chinese than, game breaks even further, now it crashes everytime i get to title screen. Now i gotta restart everything, not going to do that considering it took 4+ hours to do, so either play with black terrain or not at all. I simply don't recomend this

Crashes during first battle or 10 minutes into the game, plus black terrain, and it doesn't have half of yellow turbants leaders. I have the game cracked, download, installation and playing done with the anti-virus down, there must be some files missing, i read about terrain and models missing, maybe some animation missing and crashing the game
there's a black terrain fix in these comments. Also just go to the steam_api64.ini and put a 0 after the steam id of yellow turban DLC. It was forgotten

Everything works except for the fact that the terrain in campaign and battles is black, not trees or mountains, but just the terrain is a jet black color. Any idea how to fix?
idk fix for the eight princes dlc, but for yellow turban char lock, you have to edit steam_api64 and edit code for yellow turban rebellion dlc into 853360, save and exit.
Well, still after that, reinstalling the game didn't fixed the crash after few second. But just with this edition, the first time I donwload the game, when there weren't any DLC the game started just fine.
