I recommend you to install all things of visual c and directx, there is others programs like aio runtimes that have all the things this happens on every new game, or when load a save? if is a save... probably is corrupted so only creating a new game or with a save editor(idk if exist) do something

The building system while being simple and lacking in some aspects is cool if you like to build.
There is 3 different weapon types: sword, spear, club and bow, plus the legendary. Sword and bow is by far the best, I didn't enjoy using the spear too much as it's hard to hit targets since you have to be directly lined up to jab or throw.
Good little game despite the list of cons, if you're looking for a good time killer this game might be fore you if you like crafting and exploring. You should try to play this game from the start with a friend or one other person as you'd find more enjoyment that way rather than playing by yourself like I have majority of the time.
This game works online if you use SteamEMU, plxo9000 posted a guide for how to get that to work in the comments here. Cons:
Controls are clunky.
Can't rotate buildings, becomes a pain for those with OCD.
Items some times get stuck on walls and you can't remove it unless you remove the wall.
Repetitive content after you have explored each unique area (vaults, caves, galleon, and the legendary vaults, lava zones). Start game > Get Sail > Clear Legendary Vaults (for legend weapon and parts for galleon) > Build Galleon > End; there isn't much content, you're going to be farming and crafting majority of the time to progress to each step.
Monkeys in combat are overpowered, really makes coop or playing with friends not very challenging. All you need is 5 monkeys, 2 with a bow and 2 with melee and 1 to carry a chest, you could have more if you're the host although it's overkill.
Not really a fault for the game, but if you do try to find others to play with online with the steamEMU, more often than not you'll be kicked from every game if you try to join others even when they are intentionally hosting. The IGG or pirate community within this game is not very friendly or chill, I've found a few chill people but mostly everyone who plays this is a dickhead.

The monkeys that follow you are reset when you load the game and you have to reconfigure them. Monkeys cannot hunt non-hostile animals. Monkeys cannot be assigned to defend the base. Monkeys' settings are reset when they are attacked by enemies and you have to reconfigure their tasks. Monkeys carrying chests when attacked by enemies drop the chests and you have to place them on top of them again. Sometimes the chests that the monkeys carry when you load the game disappear with everything they have inside. You can only see the names of the monkeys on the status screen, but not outside the status screen, and this is annoying when you have many monkeys, and although you can change the color of the monkeys, it is difficult to distinguish between monkeys, especially when You specialize them in specific tasks. You need to be able to distinguish between monkeys in some way. There is a lot more shit that needs to be fixed in the game, so I'm watching for updates to the game.

Oh ok, I've resolved the issue. There is little bug for Chinese (both simplified and tranditional). Have to update the value in config.xml to "Tchinese"/"Schinese" under SSE folder.
I tried the setting in SSE and also in file "C:\Users\Your name here\AppData\Roaming\Goldberg SteamEmu Saves\settings\language.txt", but none of them works.

I don't get the excitement over this one. I feel like there are already better alternatives since years. And as you said, it's even too early to play it in good conditions anyway. I'll keep an eye on future updates.
yes it is worth downloading only if you will take time to know the game mechanics & also you like survival/crafting genre in general, this is not worth if you want to know/finish the game very fast, also you need patience with your monkey.

Presuming you downloaded ,unzip the latest update via codex, by opening the update folder and clicking on the setup.exe file. Once it is completed, go to the codex folder and copy and paste it's contents into the installed game folder
and then, put the files from the PLAZA file of the .iso in the extracted game folder
and after that, just launch the: The Survivalists.exe
