Well I mostly agree with what you said, I have one thing to add. My wife binge watches crime shows and it seems whenever there is some kind of child abduction case in which the perp did not know the kid, it always goes back to the fact that he started out with porn which then lead to child porn, which makes me sick to type, and eventually that is not enough so they take a kid. This is probably only a tiny majority of the sickos out there, but it does happen and it seems to be a progressive thing. When I took anatomy in college they sort of explained this type of anti-social behavior. There is some tiny part of the brain that gets triggered when the person looks at images he feels is taboo, with some people it gives them a thrill, but they keep having to up the ante so to speak to get the same thrill. The gland of whatnot in the brain literally increases in size. (Like the Southpark joke, Randy started with Playboy images and eventually it progressed to Asian girls puking on each other). Again, only a small percentage I would guess would ever take it that far, but perversion hits a different area in the brain than violence.
Thing is, you can find studies that point out to the opposite side of things- if a person have a way to vent out their perversions in the commodity of their homes without getting in to trouble, they'll be less likely to go out and try to act their fantasies (not because of any kind of morality or because they'll prefer it, but because of mere self-preservation). The "they started with porn and escalated from there" is hard to take as evidence, since most people watches porn and most of the people who watches porn escalates from there. Hentai is easy and free to get, so watching "loli" is hardly a sign of a potential pedophile. Back to a most simple question- if somebody strongly dislikes this kind of content, why do they clic in this kind of game and why do they go to the comments to rant about it?
