"A dark and unique RPG that brings back nostalgia..."
Nostalgia for what?
This isn't how it works, and I read this crap all the time.
They don't have the rights when it comes to other franchises, to invoke nostalgia.
And making a game which looks old doesn't have anything to do with being nostalgic.
The same thing with having "Retro" in the title.
The same thing with games, advertising themselvs was "throwback to classic titles".
The "good old games from back in the day" while they don't have anything in common.
For such a thing, you need one of two things:

  • either the license to a classic title
  • or advanced understanding about a classic title, while creating some sort of a clone that feels like the same, but in the same time, having something completely different and/or improved
    "Gunlord X" for example.
But creating a game with a pixelated artstyle is neither nostalgic nor a throwback to the good old days.

I actually wanted to get Gunlord for Dreamcast a while ago but X might also be an idea even though I would like to play it on a CRT.
Problem is, that I want physical releases only but many games like are BS limited releases nowadays so scalpers can make huge profits of selling them on Ebay. Devs that are supporting something like this by allowing platforms like strictly limited games, limited run games and so on to sell these games in in limited fashion (knowing that there is more demand) are already getting on my bad side.
Gunlord X already had a limited run directly by NG:Dev.Team and will have a second run which will be even more limited (499 games). I will see if there is even a real chance to buy a copy or if it will be gone within a second. Won't throw money into scalpers' throats or at the Nintendo eStore.
I hate this artificial scarcity BS and it will only result in the devs not seeing a penny of me.
PS: I find it amusing how the comments for NG:Dev.Team's videos are deactivated. Did they already get backlash from people for doing this limited release BS?

Nah, I'm ok with this style... when it's done well and not in a lazy way, just to have such a style.
But some devs think, that it invokes nostalgia... just by having such a style.
