MUCH butter than any rhythm games that've come out in the last decade. this game FEELS much better than most. beat sabre and osu are too "conformed" and limited in creativity. people complaining are usually the ones to die twenty times on the first level or not realising its a RHYTHM game and the guns aren't meant to feel like yknow, real guns lol. Its genuinely perfect for people wanting a bullet-hell/DOOM/rhythm/FPS game hybrid, you actually gotta have a sense of rhythm, aim, and spacial awareness to play this, if not you'll probably be one of these dorks in the comments complaining about BPM not having pretty epileptic red & blue colours and an empty, stationary background.
decided to give it a try and i have mixed feelings for this the music is great but the gameplay should be something like beat hazard and shapes and beats, to have free liberty to shoot instead of shooting based on the rhythm
oh boy do I hate that error I spent more than a month trying to fix it the error is caused for me was that system 64 were mixed with 32 and it happened after windows update i couldn't play half my games THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT IS TO REINSTALL WINDOWS (I TRIED EVERYTHING)
I really want to love this game, but it has some glaring issues... Overall, the idea and most of the gameplay is fun, having to shoot on the beat and keep a good rhythm throughout the fight feels great, and the level and enemy design is generally inoffensive, if uninspired. The music is also pretty alright, which would be an instant game-killer if it wasn't. The issues are both on the technical side and the design side. Gun balance is wack, with the revolver being an overall step down to the shitty starter pistol, and the weird three-pronged pistol shotty being so powerful it kills the boss in about 8 shots. They both cost the same amount of money to get. The RNG is heavy and uneven, with stat upgrades being acquired from shrines you have to pay a coin to activate, but coin drops are inconsistent and shrines are completely randomized (good luck getting them to spawn, and then getting them to be useful shrines). You desperately need at least one range upgrade as early as possible unless you want your shots to simply not work beyond really close range, for example. Chests (given as rewards whenever you complete a room) can be locked behind keys, which are even more inconsistent: there's a guaranteed spawn from the boss and the miniboss, but sometimes you'll end up with something like 5 locked chests, and that's not even counting the sets of three "bad" chests that are all locked, with one containing a random drop and the other two an enemy (from what I've tested so far). Item rewards are highly unbalanced, with some being significantly more powerful or impactful than others, and it feels like there's no internal logic to how they spawn and no 'tiers' to separate the loot pools. There's a weird inconsistency with shot/input detection, which really fucks with the rhythm in big fights: I think it could be tied to issues with optimization and fluctuating FPS, plus the v-sync induced input lag, so I'm not gonna be too hard on the game for it just yet, but it's a shitty issue and it could ruin this game if it's internal and doesn't get fixed. Also some issues with geometry & navigation, which aren't usually a big deal for most people but they really piss me off and fuck with my movement patterns (man, I miss the times when maps were clutter-free...). Finally, the first boss is shitty; the model is small and zips around the air without any clear logic, the attacks are easily dodged and telegraphed but will nuke you if he gets close to you (because they have huge tracking and you're too close to dodge em), and it sometimes spawns with an insane constant-damage sphere surrounding it, or an even smaller model that makes it a pain in the ass to fight.
Pretty much all games from the past decade or two have no optimization. Game devs have gotten lazy and spoiled and assume everyone has the latest bleeding-edge gaming rig. 😒
i've been watching this game's gameplay videos for awhile. i have to ask first, can we do something about the "red screen"? my eyes just can't stand it. at least is there an in-game option to modify it? edit : thank you guys you've been helpful
Just turn down the 1st option in the settings(can't remember what it's called), I set it to 50%. They used the filter to make all the random assets feel more cohesive
like it or hate it, everyone has their own taste, no big deal. comments like "i don't really like the game, not my genre" etc. are totally fine. but u're mentioning it like the game is broken (bullets don't hit, dash doesn't work, yada yada). and all that because you don't understand how to play it. lol
Here's a new comment, feels good huh?. You suck at basic comprehension and rhythm, boom we done here. Ngl, narcissistic people sure are the greatest supply of amusing comments.

there, i will give my self a dislike, feels good huh?
you're supposed to do stuff to the beat, thats the point of the whole game...
boom we done here, no need for further conversation
