It's definitely not like the other Project Cars games but it's not bad, the only big bug so far for me is that the livery sometimes fails to load but that's fine.
Yes, the livery sometimes doesn't appear for me during race. It loads the default plain color while at the same time loads the license plate of the custom design.

Yeah, I saw a lot of hate before downloading it and I was hesitant, but being a big fan of the previous ones, I had to try it. It does feel a lot more arcadey now, I'm just not sure it's as bad as some people think it is. Overall it feels way smoother in VR than PC2, and it's still a fun racing game, even if it's not a total sim.
Graphics are absolutely awful even on ultra. The game isn't optimized (massive FPS drop when it rains on high/ultra rtx 2060), no anti-aliasing (only supersampling, so you have to choose between jagged edges and 40-50 fps) and reflections are broken. Good driving physics IF you're looking to play an arcade game (definitely better than NFS Payback/Heat). Don't expect realism. And please don't hate racing games just because they don't offer extreme realism, most people don't care and only want to have fun.

thats a very rough equivalent. its more equivalent to a 1070ti. it is at best like the top of mid-tier level, card even before 30-series. Also passmark isnt the best option to compare between two different architectures. There are some people who think of the 1070 as an entry level card which it surely isnt
Glad I did the "try before I buy" pc3 really sucks. I am sure 10 year olds will love it but its utter garbage for an adult that wants a realistic experience. I ran it in vr and it was pretty bad on my upper end pc. Project cars 2 is soo much better!

They wanted to make a racing simulator back in 2015, that game was mostly a disappointment. Two years later, Project CARS 2 came out, and it was somewhat a success... but three years later, the third sequel fail to be either a racing simulator or an arcade racing game. From here I don't know what's the point for Slightly Mad Studio to even exist anymore, they'd go SO far that they even release FnF Crossroad RIGHT BEFORE PC3 goes live. Project CARS 3, even if you treat it as an arcade game, driving physic is still garbage - a Koenigsegg Jesko is supposed to generate more than ONE TONNE of downforce when going fast, yet why is it still bouncing and sliding like jelly on butter in this game, even when going over 200km/h? GRID 2019 is an excellent game when compared with this miserable pile of junk, at least Codemasters always deliver somewhat decent arcade style physics.
wow, is it just me but this game seems to be utter garbage after playing if for 10 mins in comparison to pc2 ???? I mean... im on Logitech driving force gt and while dirt rally 1.0 worked wonderful on this wheel, pc2 worked good but nowhere near nice in terms of handling as dirt cars (just compare the handling of mitsubishi on asphalt/concrete in the two games ) but here in PC3 it seems to be like driving on soap or some old NFS game without proper wheel support...

Too bad you say you intended to give it a try, as the PC2 also has a lot to improve. They say they are more simulators but I prefer Gran Turismo, it has many details and things to do and less to improve. Hard to say - I can't seem to find reliable numbers. One thing I know for a fact though : Fate is the worst. Period. There are awful stories everywhere about people sinking into depression and worse because of it. Scary. But it's more of a gambling game than an actual gamy game. So no wonder.

I have had the opportunity on pc and console to try all the car games and all those games that you mention rfactor2, automobilista etc ... They always say that they are more simulators, they are fine but in my opinion they are not a big thing or great simulators and you end up getting bored. From the little that I could try on the xbox of an establishment, perhaps I would stick with Forza Horizon or Forza Motorsport an open world where there were many things to do and much to discover and they were good simulators, it is a pity that they do not exist for PS4 because What I like now and I'm playing is Gran Turismo and that's what it entertains me, although it also has some flaws but no problem maybe when I get tired of winning everything too easy I'm already thinking about the next option maybe it would be Dirt4 I also like the physics of the Wreckfest although you may not consider them simulators either, that is relative.
neither forza or Grand Turismo is even close to being a simulation. Sure i get your point that there isnt a career or such thing to follow in real sims like Rfactor 2, assetto corsa and so on. But thats nothing a simulator tries to do. They try to simulate the race sport as close as possible, for some its entertaining as hell for others its not. You are totally right my friend, I am from the mid 80's, that's why I really love Retro Games more than any modern games, those games were very hard and kept you very busy and concentrated. We are living in a crisis with games being developed only for console, like you said, and for "Niños Rata" (Rat Boys: we call them like that in Spanish because they think they know everything about games, they are between 9 -14 years old), when these novice developers port those games to PC, they fucked them up, like Horizon Zero Dawn, a modern great game from PS4. Gran turismo is far less realistic then forza motorsport 7 . Gran turismo series have a bad IA , no damamge on cars . Gran turismo surely have a great lifetime and a huge content, but in term of realism it not that good . Gran Turismo sports was crap , Gran turismo 6 and 1 were the best but still the prob, that too much stuff are missing to consider it as a real simulation .
And forza mototsport is far less realstic than the real sims out there like Assetto Corsa, Rfactor 2 and so on. Forza is still an arcade racing game. nothing more.

A few years later Slightly Mad Studios said their making a sequel. Everyone got hyped up, saying that now they're gonna get it right, exept they did't. This isn't always the case, first Hyperdimension neptunia games were just shit but the later remakes were deacent. Modern car games also aren't all terrible, take Assetto corsa Rfactor 2 for example. I played shit loads of the firsts Rfactor game, and really enjoyed it until I got a better PC that could run AC and RFactor 2 and I play these games till this day. Well i don't play Rfactor 2 anymore since it doesn't have as much mods and a worse MP. But yes, for the most part you are right.
