Why are you not tagging this with the sport genre ? I've noticed this section of the website is not getting new games and I find it disappointing as I'm looking for sport games to play.
You can tell 2K didn't want to put too much effort on their first installment of PGA Tour, no offline PGA tournaments or any other tournaments, no famous golf players to play with, i don't even know how to play against AI, if even possible. Such a disappointment.
I think the only thing you can do is play alone on all of the courses. You have some options though...wind, weather etc... But in general i wouldnt call it a bad game, the tutorial was nice... Pls don't get me wrong, i am as upset about this release as the next person. They just hid the only interesting thing in this game behind the online wall. I would call it a smart move if i wouldn't be so busy grinding my teeth.... edit: And keeping all intersting stuff for online has nothing to do with effort, it is just there to screw us here. :) edit2: Im just happy that i am old enough to have seen the golden days of piracy. What we have now is pitiful. Early access disasters, russian first person insults, manga and hentai crap, way too many erotic games that only show that there is nothing else to put online... How to play golf games? Pick fantasy golf. Golf is exactly the game where you don't want realism, you won't care about the players, or brands or places. For example, Tiger Woods is famous but now he is at the 16th position.
I have to say that i like golf games but i hate the non-realistic ones. And on pc we only had "the golf club" for years. And now we just get more of the same. I don't have to know the players or brands or places, but i wan't it to look like the real thing. I just can't play golf games where the prevailing color is purple or something like that. I also can't stand golf games that take place on some fantasy world where there are skyscraper like cubes etc. I just wan't a normal golf game with a career that does not look like it's 15years old... And i know i should buy it......but i don't spend money on sports games...i just don't...
Just be like me and play Links 2003. It doesn't have fancy recent 3D graphics, and yet, it's still the most realistic golf game ever made. 😘 Personally, I've never needed another golf game. As for me, I just checked my .iso file, and apparently, I downloaded it from "theisozone", a website which closed years ago, I think, unfortunately. It's starting to be difficult to find Links 2003, which is a shame, really.
I actually went back to tiger wood 08. The career is fun and even with the visuals not being up to date, the game is not bad. I just wish, that the person at EA that made the decision for console-exclusivity, for this franchise, gets run over by a car...;)
I actually searched for "fantasy golf" and it seems to be some sort of sports betting game. Not for money, but just like a game where you pick players for your team and get points for how good they perform. Well....not really what people that crave a good golf game are looking for but for sure something to waste your time in.....
If you really like Golf, then you must buy a Wii. The wii mote was a gimmick but it works great with golf games, so it is the reason why it has a lot of golf games. Wii Sport Tiger Wood 07 and 08 Super Swing Golf (Pagya) Carnival Mini Golf. Mario Golf. We Love Golf.
Can't play career mode with cracked game, requires online connection. Lets you customize a character, select equip, etc. With cracked version, you can only play single courses offline.
Hmm, please correct if im wrong here but on all the other games of 2k you can play a career. Maybe only the be a pro career but at least you get some progression. Here you get none of that. You just can play all the courses over and over again. Actually this as once called a demo.....
Oh...that is a bummer :( I was really happy when i saw this...... Well ok....fits in the pattern so why play the surprised....i already feared that there is some drawback to this. But somehow it's still infuriating, with all the other 2k sports games you can play a career but not the online modes. I would have been fine with the game if they handled it the same way. But no, the sport game that i like of course has to be crippled..... Edit: Just confirmed it, it's like playing "The golf club" Very dissapointed.
