Actually, the game is pretty great, i play this for 4 days and still found it addictive, yes the game lack some feature but the devs is continuously update, add more content for the game. Really recommended to try this game out
This game tries to be 3D Rimworld but it feels like shit; no, don't tell me it's early access. Rimworld in its alpha stage already feels more polished than what Going Medieval feels today.
Zone function literally has no use, it only lets you draw stockpile zone & farming zone, nothing else. In Rimworld, you can decide where your pawns can go & where they can't. In this game you literally has no authority over pawn's movement, even tamed animals can't be restricted.
Worst of all, you're stuck with Medieval tech forever.
There's too much to complain, just do yourself a favor: Go play Rimworld, with or without DLC. It will always feel more fun than this shit.
The game lacks proper and accurate defense mechanisms such as draw bridge and a church bell to get people inside the castle so you don't have to ...painstakingly and manually each time.
Not really a good excuse. Rimworld was in early access for a long time and still had ways of dealing with colonists during raids. Plus this game came out 2 years ago.

Tip: If you still have the older version. look for a folder thats called "MonoBleedingEdge" copy that folder to the new versions exe location directory. That should be enough to get the game working.

It runs, but there's a game breaking bug when your villagers aren't able to go outside the camp. At some point, the existing doors trigger this, even if you destroy them.

Game is a barebones as F early access title with practically all systems ripped off from other games like rimworld, a tiny map, with only 4 resource types for mining, the only metal being iron, 30% of the tech tree is not yet implemented, buildiing structures is ok but the roof support system is a bit wonky, and there are all kinds of bugs as to be exspected, the "endgame" is nothing but increasingly large groups of raiders attacking you, ressearch system is retarded requiring massive space in storage zones for books which wont be used up by actually unlocking research items,worst system ive ever seen. Inventory management is inconvenient and infuriating to deal with clutter on the map. Skill system kinda works, but leaves a lot to be desired. Would i recommend buying this? No fuckin way. This honestly feels like a cheapass rimworld clone asset flip with a terrain system from basic minecraft.I wouldnt be surprised if this ends up on the endless list of early access cashgrabs that get abandoned as soon as they made enough money out of it.

Are you aware Rimworld is also a clone of Dwarf Fortress just like a shit ton of other games (like Evil Genius), Going Medieval didn't steal from that game, it follows the same genre (a genre that predates Rimworld). "Not even Pre-Alpha", did you play Rimworld on its 0.3 version, because it was far less complete than this game is in it's closed beta (which means it's not intended to be played by the general public as of yet because it's incomplete smart-ass). On that same note did you know that all the problems with this game you listed was also an issue with early Rimworld, from an incomplete tech-tree to bugs to the end game consisting of larger and larger waves of enemies until you inevitably lost your colony? I suggest you read the update logs and the developer notes on their actual site to be informed as to future implementations (which include a world map, more variety resources, factions and so forth). This game is still being developed just like any other title that isn't even released yet and here you are grunting like a pig because the game has issues. On a final note, this game has it's own unique elements which you so blindly disputed. Like religion and it's purely medieval setting, akin to how Rimworld has a sci-fi setting which differentiates itself from Dwarf Fortress and the numerous other titles that already existed. In the future don't raise your opinion when it's solely based on what you can pull out of your ass.
IMHO this one is even better than rimworld if compared to DF. I follow dwarf fortress since almost its beginning, a bit before its first alpha and i say nor even rimworld is good like it.. this is probably late but early access game requires higher than usual pc spec, usually memory leak happens so you need higher ram to open the game longer without issues.

Most developers don't optimize their games as much anymore with the advent of new technology. In fact, you can make a retro 2D side scroller require 16bits of ram if you want.
I was having issues with it as well, as I've seen some youtube videos of people playing on a 0.4.5 version (The files here are 0.4.2), hopefully this is fixed. I've requested an update, hoping it'll happen soon.
