Do not put them all in one folder on your Desktop as it will not work. (Note: This should fix the issue with the Autorun.exe that most people are having.) Step 2: Install the base game along with the rest of the DLCs using the Autorun.exe files located in each installation folders. Install the base game first and then DLCs ONE AT A TIME otherwise you risk messing up your installation. (You can't even install the games simultaneously anyways.) went thru this one myself. yes, user account control is a pain.. and persistent: this doesn't go away no matter how often i restart. there's probably some other trick besides changing the enablelua registry value, but i went the quicker route of copying setup.exe from my legit hardcopy. 😉 running setup instead still adds ep2 and sp4 despite this copy not being the double deluxe ver. not only that, i had to use it for ep7, ep8, sp7, sp8 and sp9. and it installs fine with each. the corresponding update patches are blocked tho. but at the end of it all it does register everything: and it runs without a prob too: i was going to test it on my old dell if my patience held... it hasn't, and no one cares about winxp anyway. one side note - it is such a messy installer! each expansion wants very much to be in a separate folder to function correctly, and it won't uninstall cleanly otherwise. couple this with dropping a new icon for each on the desktop (only one of which works) along with the extraneous dialogues during installation (plus a different cd-key for each!) and it has me wondering what the dev was thinking. but what ev, right? oh hell, another side note: i built a quick repack (not pre-installed - likely too time consuming to be worth it in this case) which borrows 2+gb from the disc and cuts it all down to roughly 6gb. 🙂

I think I managed to figure it out by * around with the files.
For the base game, Move the file to the Desktop. Running AutoRun never works (even with Run by Administrator). You are always blocked by the administrator. To bypass that, you have to use Command Prompt [Run by administrator] Then type cd and the directory to the base game file (C:\Users\etc..) The directory will show up again at the bottom. Type in AutoRun and it will open up and follow the installation guide in the notepad.

this is compleatly broken getting it to work is a lottery that apparently works for 1 out of 100 people there are way too many problem with the instalation itself to even start listing here and im not even starting on trying to get the installed thing to work
Soooo , after some investigations and blablabla the problem that occure during installation about "DirectX" or something can be solved by moving the installation folder all out to D:/ or C:/ it seems that if you are in the download folder the repertory full name is too long for the setup so just remove all the folders behind and intall it from the root.
Here is how to Fix "Please Insert Disk 1" etc. Move all folder except The Sims 2 (Base game) - Double Deluxe Edition to one folder before. so basically e.g. E:\The.Sims.2.The.Complete.Collection\The Sims 2 - The Complete Collection. TO E:\The.Sims.2.The.Complete.Collection Then follow the HOW TO INSTALL guide as per normal in order.

Never mind, I downloaded it elsewhere, since no one wants to properly help/explain how to run Autorun.exe without running into the "Insert disc" problem.
Literally just disable antivirus, or run the file named "SETUP" NOT "AUTORUN" OR if you already installed the game, Copy the folder from the crack folder (Usually named prophet, or whatever it is that cracked the game) INTO the installation folder, you got that?

Use Graphics Rules Maker so you can run on modern machine even without compatibility settings or running as admin. I am playing on Windows 11 perfectly.
I need some help here please, when im doing the instalation by the instruction written in the textbook. I get an error a problem occurred when trying to transfer the file... what can i do to fix it? I tried turning my antivirus off but it doesnt work. I have windows 11 but i cant trabsfer back to 10 which i thought could be the problem too. And when i was deleting and uninstalling the game before i completly deleted every file that had something to do with The sims 2.

More times than not, when I have tried to download this game on other websites and a little notification pops up that says the game may not work properly on my version of Windows. There is honestly not much you can do about it since it's an old game meant to run on a way older version of Windows. So naturally, there will be some glitches and such when you play the game. You can try a different download, but there will probably still be some glitching regardless.
*ANYONE GETTING THE ENUMERATE DIRECTX 9 ERROR Make sure the crack is copied to both the C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff location AND the C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSBin Placing the crack in just the M&G folder will not work, it MUST be in the TSBin folder as well.

In what way is this realistic? Sims 3 had no loading screens. You could actually see your neighbors and the town. There is nothing realistic about Sims 2.
I installed everything except University, Open for Business, and a kit. They wanted me to insert the disk and couldn't find any way around. I succeed installing base game even though i had the transfer file issue (which ive been able to fix) but the same issue came back with the same file with the last kit which is required to play the game.I fllowed the entire instructions if you ask I can't understand why it doesn't work, and why so many people have so many different troubles with the same download. I tried to launch the game but disk is required I have no clue of how to finally be able to play this game except get the game somewhere else that could work
Try reinstalling the crack file, making sure you click on 'replace existing file' when asked. If that doesn't work, you can find an iso of M&G Stuff online elsewhere and then mount that by right-clicking and selecting 'mount' (I believe Windows now natively lets you mount ISOs rather than using something like DAEMON tools), this then makes your PC recognise that ISO as a proper disc and should let you play the game, as long as you launch from the M&G Stuff shortcut

It's an Autorun.exe. The instructions say to run it and input the serial key when prompted. The only thing that happens when I run the .exe is, shocker, it asks for the disc.
Try running it in windowed mode. Do this by right clicking, going to properties, and adding -w after the last ". Make sure to have a space between the last " and the -w too.

Most people are always using an AdBlock. If you want to download games for free, you have to be careful but that's something you always should be no matter where/what. I think many people who don't have the money to buy games, the ones who want to try a game before buying it or, some years ago, wanted to play a game without havibg the disc inserted all the time are thankfully for this site anyway and understand that the servers cost money and get financed through the ads.
After launching it the AutoRun of Seasons tells me (after language select) that it requires an original copy of The Sims 2 to be installed. I did install Double Deluxe and I was installing the remaining EP, SP and etcetera in the order listed in HOW TO INSTALL file. I've no idea as to why this happens. My computer is a LENOVO laptop running on Windows 10. I did install The Sims 2 and all of its expansions into Program Files x86\EA GAMES. Tried to run the AutoRun with all the previous Windows compatibilities but none work. Relocated the ''The Sims 2 (EP 5) Seasons'' folder to the desktop folder and tried running the AutoRun from there, still nothing. I really want to play The Sims 2 but I have no means of purchasing the game (no store nearby sells it) and the credit card I do have does not work for Amazon, Origin or the other services which may sell it online. So this is pretty much my only means of playing it right now, if it even works... If you know how to solve this issue, please reply below.
Aight so I solved it by uninstalling the game and then reinstalling everything slightly misordered (my AutoRun has this glitch where after uninstalling Pets every other EP and SP requires it to be installed before progressing, afterwards it works fine) WITHOUT turning off the power. Turns out if you turn off your computer without installing everything (I had turned off mine after installing pets to continue afterwards) the entire installation process poops itself and refuses to work. So while those things I did fix, and I did install all the following EPs and SPs correctly, while inserting the cracked Sims2EP9 into the Mansion & Garden SP's TSBin it said ''a shortcut cannot be made here, would you like to create a shortcut at the desktop instead?) I thought it was strange and that I was supposed to REPLACE the Sims2EP9 in the TSBin with the one in the crack folder, not that the one in the crack folder was just a shortcut? When I did try to use the shortcut in the Crack folder after pasting it into the TSBin it said that my current drivers aren't compatible with DirectX (despite them running a lot of other titles that use DirectX) and that just baffled me. Suggestions?
Ok so I am stuck on installing Teen Style Stuff each time I try to install it says game could not successfully update and it begins terminating installation. I also had a problem with installing all expansions to the same folder it tells me the game already has expansion packs and I need to install it someplace else. and I am on Windows 10.
Fixed the problem, followed through the instruction word for word... Now I'm scared to open it cause if this doesn't work after all that patience I put into it, Imma lose my mind!!

I renamed the folder that contains the installation folders. The folder next to the "how to install.txt". This was after I moved said folder to my desktop

You've downloaded the base game with all expansions. If you don't know what it is please google it. The base game still should have The Sims 2 in it's name so you can find the part that you have to install first pretty fast.

I have the same problem but with a different file. "Program_has_caused_an_error__or__Error_in__gamename_.exe" It's in folder, but still doesn't work for some reason. When I installed it few months ago, it worked. Idk why it doesn't work now...

This doesn't have any crack files, so I don't understand how people can run it, I downloaded my game and extracted it without any problems but after installing the game asks for CD so it's impossible to run the game. Wasted 11Gb's, thanks IGG.
On the extracted folder when you download the 3 parts there's a wordpad file. It explains how to properly instal the game and its expansion. The crack is in the last expansion folder. ...
This game works 100% fully tested it my self igg games did grate if your haveing problems its most likely because your useing windows 8 or 10 witch both suck big time and are just pure crap. This game runs wonderfully on windows 7 64bit sp1 no problems
Did you download an exe file? When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something? If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.
when i fully installed the game and try to launch it with the crack file, Ill get an error which says the game isnt able to enumerate because i dont have any directX9 compatible graphics adapters in this system. Anyone has a fix?
Ive done everything, but when I boot up the game it flickers and shows my desktop in 800x600. When i look at taskmanager it says that the sims isnt responding. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I did all the right steps and everything is great.. except when I run the game it goes through the intro and everything, but when I get to the title, there's no start button or anything.
when u go to support/EA Help/en-us/ delete all the .html files and folders that only contain .html files and it will work. kinda tedious but do this for every pack that has them and it will work
This might be a long shot, but every time I try to install the DLCs like University and stuff, it asks for a disc. I have also already tried moving the autorun file onto my desktop and renaming it. But none of it seems to work. It says then that it can´t find the AutorunGUI.dll file. I have tried putting that file on my desktop, too, but then it just asks to insert a disc again. I would be very thankful if someone could help me with this problem.
In the future right click on the file on your desktop and click 'show in folder' to get back to the source folder. Usually there is a cracked application start inside the main installation directory (here) but sometimes an uncracked shortcut will be placed on the desktop. I've never heard of renaming an application being successful in opening it, so look for the file you actually need?
I'm completely lost on how to extract the game from the rar file. I tried winzip but it keep asking to add it to a folder than doesn't exist and then it deleted the file altogether. How the hell do I open this game?
I have the same problem as Danielle Gill. When i try to install an expansion pack it says that it can't be updated. Is there any other solution for this problem, than installing the game on a computer with Windows 7 or older?

When installing I get stuck at the University (EP1), so right after installing the main version of the game. I am asked to insert DVD 1 and can't proceed, neither by clicking OK or Cancel. What can I do?
Nevermind, I fixed the issue by moving the folder out on the desktop AND renaming it to SM-University_Ep1. Also started the Installation as admin (win x64)

After spending too much time messing around with the files, I finally figured out the installation steps with no thanks to the uploader.
Step 1: Move all installation folders to your Desktop, as in put the base game installation folder and all DLC installation folders separately on the Desktop. Do not put them all in one folder on your Desktop as it will not work.
(Note: This should fix the issue with the Autorun.exe that most people are having.)
Step 2: Install the base game along with the rest of the DLCs using the Autorun.exe files located in each installation folders. Install the base game first and then DLCs ONE AT A TIME otherwise you risk messing up your installation. (You can't even install the games simultaneously anyways.)

Who the hell created this?
Game repeatedly refused to be intalled or activated (Autorun.exe gave the "Blocked by administrator" error. Even tho I am the administrator)
Separating the Base game folder and moving it to the the desktop did nothing still.
this doesn't go away no matter how often i restart. there's probably some other trick besides changing the enablelua registry value, but i went the quicker route of copying setup.exe from my legit hardcopy. 😉 running setup instead still adds ep2 and sp4 despite this copy not being the double deluxe ver. not only that, i had to use it for ep7, ep8, sp7, sp8 and sp9. and it installs fine with each. the corresponding update patches are blocked tho. but at the end of it all it does register everything:

i was going to test it on my old dell if my patience held... it hasn't, and no one cares about winxp anyway.
one side note - it is such a messy installer! each expansion wants very much to be in a separate folder to function correctly, and it won't uninstall cleanly otherwise. couple this with dropping a new icon for each on the desktop (only one of which works) along with the extraneous dialogues during installation (plus a different cd-key for each!) and it has me wondering what the dev was thinking. but what ev, right?
oh hell, another side note: i built a quick repack (not pre-installed - likely too time consuming to be worth it in this case) which borrows 2+gb from the disc and cuts it all down to roughly 6gb. 🙂

After spending too much time messing around with the files, I finally figured out the installation steps with no thanks to the uploader.
Step 1: Move all installation folders to your Desktop, as in put the base game installation folder and all DLC installation folders separately on the Desktop. Do not put them all in one folder on your Desktop as it will not work.
(Note: This should fix the issue with the Autorun.exe that most people are having.)
Step 2: Install the base game along with the rest of the DLCs using the Autorun.exe files located in each installation folders. Install the base game first and then DLCs ONE AT A TIME otherwise you risk messing up your installation. (You can't even install the games simultaneously anyways.)

For the base game, Move the file to the Desktop. Running AutoRun never works (even with Run by Administrator). You are always blocked by the administrator.
To bypass that, you have to use Command Prompt [Run by administrator]
Then type cd and the directory to the base game file (C:\Users\etc..)
The directory will show up again at the bottom. Type in AutoRun and it will open up and follow the installation guide in the notepad.
The Apartment Life Expansion Pack is also blocked.
The Kitchen and Bath Interior Design Expansion Pack is also blocked. [I'd recommend a name change to the file since symbols causes errors on cmd]
The Ikea Expansion Pack is blocked.
The Mansion and Garden Expansion Pack is blocked.
I changed mine to "Patch1" instead of "Patch 1" because Command Prompt doesn't do well with spaces in filenames.
it seems that if you are in the download folder the repertory full name is too long for the setup so just remove all the folders behind and intall it from the root.
Then follow the HOW TO INSTALL guide as per normal in order.

Step 4: The "The Sims 2 (SP9) - Mansion and Garden Stuff" installation folder contains a folder named, "# Crack" which contains Sims2EP9.exe. Copy and paste the .exe file into "The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff/TSBin/", which is where you installed your Sims 2 game. Default location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSBin". Replace the original .exe file when prompted.
Step 5: Create a shortcut for your new Sims2EP9.exe file for easier access. You can do this on Windows 10 by right clicking Sims2EP9.exe file and selecting "Send to> Desktop (create shortcut)".
Step 6: ACTUALLY play the game.
Step 7: Have fun ^^.
Thank you IGG-GAMES.COM for uploading the game files, but removing and/or not providing a proper README instructions and only giving yourself credit is not appropriate. Not being able to use the games files would essentially render it into a digital brick more useless than a ropeless skipping rope. But then again piracy is theft so who am I to complain. Enjoy!

I need some help here please, when im doing the instalation by the instruction written in the textbook. I get an error a problem occurred when trying to transfer the file... what can i do to fix it?
I tried turning my antivirus off but it doesnt work.
I have windows 11 but i cant trabsfer back to 10 which i thought could be the problem too.
And when i was deleting and uninstalling the game before i completly deleted every file that had something to do with The sims 2.

Make sure the crack is copied to both the C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff location AND the C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSBin
Placing the crack in just the M&G folder will not work, it MUST be in the TSBin folder as well.
Any fixes/ideas?

I succeed installing base game even though i had the transfer file issue (which ive been able to fix) but the same issue came back with the same file with the last kit which is required to play the game.I fllowed the entire instructions if you ask

I think many people who don't have the money to buy games, the ones who want to try a game before buying it or, some years ago, wanted to play a game without havibg the disc inserted all the time are thankfully for this site anyway and understand that the servers cost money and get financed through the ads.
I've no idea as to why this happens. My computer is a LENOVO laptop running on Windows 10. I did install The Sims 2 and all of its expansions into Program Files x86\EA GAMES. Tried to run the AutoRun with all the previous Windows compatibilities but none work. Relocated the ''The Sims 2 (EP 5) Seasons'' folder to the desktop folder and tried running the AutoRun from there, still nothing.
I really want to play The Sims 2 but I have no means of purchasing the game (no store nearby sells it) and the credit card I do have does not work for Amazon, Origin or the other services which may sell it online. So this is pretty much my only means of playing it right now, if it even works...
If you know how to solve this issue, please reply below.
So while those things I did fix, and I did install all the following EPs and SPs correctly, while inserting the cracked Sims2EP9 into the Mansion & Garden SP's TSBin it said ''a shortcut cannot be made here, would you like to create a shortcut at the desktop instead?)
I thought it was strange and that I was supposed to REPLACE the Sims2EP9 in the TSBin with the one in the crack folder, not that the one in the crack folder was just a shortcut?
When I did try to use the shortcut in the Crack folder after pasting it into the TSBin it said that my current drivers aren't compatible with DirectX (despite them running a lot of other titles that use DirectX) and that just baffled me.
Suggestions?

If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.
Ill get an error which says the game isnt able to enumerate because i dont have any directX9 compatible graphics adapters in this system.
