Actually i have to confess i always thought this game didn't need any kind of crack and was just a normal exe and its files copy pasted from any legit copy's folder.
Can confirm this method is working. Just the steam_api.dll file is enough, got past the first boss and got Dominique afterwards. The cracked steam_api.dll from version 1.2 can be used as well for those that no longer has version 1.1 since it should be the same regardless of which version.
Confirmed, worked for me as well. Thank you Copyist Monk and Mr. X :) I did copy version 1.2.2 into the 1.3.1 folder at one point but I guess moving all of the files must have canceled something out.
Version 1.3.1 first boss crash is widespread issue as well with other cracked sites, issue is most likely a bad crack. Need to wait for a crack fix or a game update entirely.

New batch of uploads and updates are out but I don't think the game got fixed because not enough people reported it. I only see my request with no likes which means it got over looked.

it's in the bloodstained curse of the moon 2 directory ... I just copied save data from the previous version to this new version and the saves are recognizable in the game

I had the brilliant idea to import my save from past stage 1 from older update, but even after beating the stage 2 boss it closes. I am guessing it will be the same with every boss. Well, not really but i just had to paste everything in the folder from the previous update to the latest one without overwriting and without having launched the update once (in order for it to not create the save because then we would NEED to overwrite, and, you know, we don't know which files are the ones containing the save lol). Not sure if i explain myself? Anyways, that's not relevant anymore, since i am experiencing the stage clear/boss defeat bug where the game closes just like that.
Yeah, I did the same thing. I did it once without replacing everything, and once replacing the files, and neither worked. I didn't mention it because the boss crash canceled out those other problems. Still looking for those files though. Normally they would be in your AppData folder in your C: drive under a Developers name (INTI CREATES CO., LTD.). I'm seeing all my other game saves but this game.
It should have. I mean. It worked for me... Here's what you do: 1-Copy all inside the game's folder. Everything. Folders and files ( ver. 1.1.1) 2-Paste on folder of game ver 1.3.1 3-Replace files with the same name? Choose: No Edit: Now that i remember, there are some assorted files next to the game.exe. If i had to fathom a guess i'd bet THOSE are the saves. (Maybe you just have one weird named file with a weird extension. I have several because i've used multiple save slots). I can't check right now, but will do as soon as i can and tell you.
im not sure, as im not the one who tested it but i see your problem of the game closing after beating a boss, open event viewer and check windows logs > application and check for a error log. it should contain more info to help fix this problem
Stutters on current hardware like my R5 3600+1080 Ti, it has been reported through Steam review and in Steam discussion that version 1.0 stutters with controller compatibilities and on certain hardware(running multiple displays on nvidia gpus) as well with 1.1.1 update fixing that stutter on certain hardware.
This is like the classic Castlevania games that came before SOTN and all those Metroidvanias. Since there's less exploration, the difficulty is much higher

sort of, dominique plays kind of similar to shovel knight using the spear to do pogo attacks and is a rage game if you play on veteran, i played the first chapter on veteran difficulty and holy fuck this is not a joke, i died many times and like the first game if one of your party members die is a pain in the ass to keep going, you better start again with all your party from a checkpoint

All the hairs, clothing, accessories and customization in general were a bonus, we didn't have that in SotN and we sure as hell wasn't expecting it to be here, but that's not the main focus of the game. The gameplay is tight, the level design (from a gameplay point, not an aesthetic one) is amongst the best metroidvanias from the latest years, and we know we would never have gotten a new Castlevania-like game from Konami, no matter how much we asked them for it. I can't say anything about the boss revenge mode cause I didn't play it, but again, that's just a bonus. Your main complaints seem to be about aesthetic stuff and the bonus stuff. And altough I agree the visuals aren't exactly stunning, I don't think they suck ass as much as you say, but that's a matter of taste, so you're free to dislike it as much as you want and no one has the right to tell you you're wrong about that, cause that's subjective. But if you really think it looks like a shitty indie startup made it, just browse the first page in Gamejolt and you'll get an idea of the general level of design of beginner indie developers. So I don't think most of your complaints are that valid, cause remember, most of us were expecting Bloodstained to just be Symphony of the Night 2, and we would be happy with just that, yet Iga put a lot more extra stuff on the game, like customizations, side-objectives, multiple characters and gamemodes, and stuff like that. How the game looks is up to personal interpretation and opinion. I personally think the game looks fantastic and all the enemies and bosses fit right in. i mean fair enough, not tryign to strawman the opijion on if game looks quality enough. imo, it doesn't. the gameplay doesnt stack up, it;s incredibly easy ( try boss rush, I can clear all 3 difficulties in undera minute flat ) that's not the mark of a castlevania game. the retro ones are balls hard, and have tons of replayability int h form of killing. recuing ppl and the nightmare modes mix it up. ROTN doesnt even do THAT. one play through, and then go fuck yourself. NG+ makes the game even easier than it already was, which is kinda sad.
greater? Hollow knight, Super Metroid, Sundered ( that's a persona preference due to it's unique artstyle ) bunch more than that, i just find bloodstained to be very generic. art style is all pver the place, enemues and charactr are celshaded, withnon celshaded backdrops, it looks bloody awful, Except level 1 which is cel shaded... just not the rest of the game.

i never downloaded any mods, as you can see from the nexus site most of them are stuff that make things more easy like cheating mods and neither this, hard and nightmare mode are already a very punishing difficulty
The retro ones, yes. But ROTN isn't styled after the retro ones, that's Curse Of The Moon 1 and 2(Especially 2, i keep hearing COTM 2 is Castlevania 2 levels of difficulty). This version of the game (1.1.0.) is busted and might as well be deleted. Save yourself the time for the download, guys. It's unplayable because of constant microstutter. Crack and upload version 1.1.1. plz!
I have tested this version an hour ago, it's 1.1.0. There is constant hickups while playing and it's widespread with version 1.1.0. Update 1.1.1. solves this. Update 1.1.1. is already cracked but not yet uploaded on IGG
I guess its only on some PC's then from what the latest patch note says. I've been playing for a while til now and I have yet to experience any kind of stuttering on my 8 year old laptop.

I know that one flaw doesn't justify the other, but the thing is that SotN had this exact same flaw, but it is still considered one of the best games ever made.
I just focuse on the look and feel of the game first and foremost, bc i find it to be a very ugly game - pixels look better.

outside of level 1* ( the pirate ship, which was a great way to sell backing ) , the game looks liek total rubbish
that's not the mark of a castlevania game. the retro ones are balls hard, and have tons of replayability int h form of killing. recuing ppl and the nightmare modes mix it up.
ROTN doesnt even do THAT.
one play through, and then go fuck yourself.
NG+ makes the game even easier than it already was, which is kinda sad.

I played prime 1, and 2. bought 3 ( never finished it ) just doesn't have the same charm it used to. also i played super metroid so much i can pound out a randomized run in about 3 hours.
you wont be dissapointed of how much better it is compared to the nintendo 3ds version
