Anyone getting this bug where all recipes for knapping and forming are showing twice? Could be one of those things where the devs bait the pirate gang into asking for support on official forums and exposing them (i.e. that's a funny "feature" that could only work if you cracked the game) so I'm just gonna ask here :))
In case this helps anyone, I don't think you need this download any more. Just download the latest version from https://auth.vintagestory.co/. While that's downloading, click on the button there that says "Registration" and make an account using a temporary email. You should be able to install it and login with your new account without paying for anything. At least, it seems to be working for me so far.
To clarify, I wouldn't recommend using your real email. By "temporary email" I mean a throwaway email address. You can just search for "temp email" or "throwaway email" or whatever, and there are sites that generate an email address for you to use just until the confirmation email arrives. Then you can "verify" your email address, and you're good to go and won't need that email address anymore. That way, you don't give out any identifiable info.
...so a heads up, with the version here, you can't make linen, meaning you can't make a lot of really nice to have stuff suck as sacks and high tier healing items
the version that was put here wasn't stable at all, I and some other people made request to upload the new version but damn mods are like blind or dumb.
I had to find the stable release from a russian site of all things.

To anyone who have problem with server hosting disable verification in options, and having same password as friends will crash your game on server joining
Someone posted a request for it to be "fixed" on the game request page, and I provided the following response, after I downloaded the game (something they couldn't be bothered to do based on a few people posting that it doesn't work.) and getting it to work. I'm reposting it here so anyone that might have trouble, or might be worried due to the comments saying it doesn't work, I can assure you, it does. If it doesn't immediately work for you, follow the instructions provided. I downloaded it myself, and it works fine. If it doesn't work, ensure you install the provided VC_Redistributable files included in the Redist folder, as that may prevent it from working. (Notably, vcredist_x642, _x643, _x862, _x863 are all in Russian, and I did not install them, as it was unnecessary looking at the version #s, they were lower than the vc_redist.x644.exe and vcredist_x64.exe were, and both of those were already installed on my computer, so no need to install.) Honestly, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong, but if your computer doesn't have the necessary redistributable files already installed, then it won't work, so that's why they are provided. Hope that helps. I'll also post a duplicate of this reply as a comment on that page, so people can see it.

hello, i have a problem that even looking in the comments i didn't find anything, i open the vintagestory.exe, it opens a black screen as if it was loading, and then it closes I've already installed everything from the Redist folder but it still has the same problem
I had the same problem, but I found a solution that works for me. Right click the zipped (.rar) file -> Properties and then check the Unblock box and click apply and then OK. Now extract the game to wherever you want. Now VintageStory.exe game should start. Just enter in a username and continue (no password necessary).
hey, I have a problem because when I want to run my own server, not multi, it pops up after loading these events, the window that I have an illegal version. There is a way around it
To play in multiplayer(version 1.14.7) the server needs to set VerifyPlayerAuth to false in serverconfig.json then each client needs to edit clientsettings.json and change mptoken, sessionkey, sessionsignature and playeruid to anything different than other players.
It's very good because it's like a very heavily modded Minecraft. And for people who just don't want to spend time modding during hours, this is clearly one of the better alternatives. On the other hand, I do think that Minecraft + Mods is still potentially even better, deeper, and of course more customizable. I haven't found anything in Vintage Story that I can't add in Minecraft with mods. Keep in mind that it's a more "realistic" game, and everything takes more time. People who want a more casual experience will prefer Minecraft (without mods to make it more realistic).
This game was made specifically because Minecraft's engine didn't offer everything needed to make VintageCraft and TerraFirmaCraft what the developers wanted them to be. So they made their own engine, their own game.
even after reading the comments and doing the fix in the files i still cant get lan to work it says my session is bad and i have to relog when i do it then says that i have un allowed characters lol i go back in the files and my username and password is just gone whats going on here?

Could anyone help me? When i attempt to open the 'Vintagestory.exe' after extracting it and all the other files from the .rar file, it doesn't start the game, even after i start it as administrator, unblock it, make sure its not being blocked by my antivirus, even ran different compatibility modes, nothing works and i wanted to know if anyone could help. EDIT: It doesnt show up, doesnt pop up an error or nothing, it only appears breifly in the 'background processes' area of the Task manager, and it always disappears within a few seconds
Try running every installer inside of the _redist folder first, if that doesn't work install newer versions of .net framework, I did all that and it didn't work either, I had to set up an ubuntu virtual machine, install a bunch of dependencies and libraries and then transfer the entire (working) game folder to my host machine (Windows 7 x64), but maybe you'll get lucky and get it working after the redists or the latest .net framework.

It's a cracked game therefore cannot receive a new token per launch as it cannot verify with the servers. Any game you get from here will NOT work in multiplayer. [LAN should work for most]

Here's how to fix "your username has unallowed characters" problem. Start the game and login then close it. i think it use 3 or 4 GB ram but you need to have 8 GB or higher ram and for my gpu geforce 745 it handle by 20 to 30 fps max setting requirement and you can do geforce 1030 or geforce 1050 or you use amd gpu my cpu hit 80% only intel i5 i7 i9 or amd cpu
The game is working, I tested it myself. Also there are mods in the official website. The game is WIP, but I can say that there is a good feel about it. Music and sound is very nice. I suggest people try and play it.

Did anyone get LAN multiplayer to work? When trying to connect from another PC the host user is kicked out of the game which most likely results in the game closing and making access for the 2nd PC impossible. When hosting a server, the 2nd client is still kicking out the first. Server log shows "missingmptoken" when the 2nd client is being authenticated and then "2nd client joined again, killing previous client". So I wonder if the game recognises that both clients are the same account, even if the account name is different. EDIT: Found out that you might have to set a password and that it shouldn't be too short (maybe user name too). With a 2 letter user name and a three letter password it didn't work but with longer login and password it worked.
Why did you regret buying it? i downloaded this crack version a few mins ago and i cant even play it because i didnt buy it, you need to buy the "Game Account" in order to play the game because it requires the account(which is very secure). Soon ill buy this game i dont know why you regret it though.
