Steam api.dll from skidrow is not deleted by AV so not sure what the heck is wrong with it. Edit : Apparently all I need to do is make sure steam is updated and running. geez.
If you are currently getting a steam.api error or "steam must be running.." error.
Check if steam is running 1a. If not, start Steam and make sure your logged in. 1b. If Steam is running and you are still getting the error, go to step 2.
Restart/Update Steam That is how I fixed the error.
I like strategy games. I like complicated strategy games, and always wanted to play this one. Tried few times, (other versions too) and its just meh. Too much info, mess (for me) everywhere.
play ROTK XIII if u want to experience the game from one person perpective. i made a character that have all zero stats, its makes the game more interesting and kinda personal hahah
Start with XI and XIII then. Once you understand one, the others become easy. The basic mechanics never change. They just add some new ideas every time. Maybe it'll go from turn-based (XI) to real-time (XIII) but the way you control your empire remains largely the same. Also XI has a good tutorial.
It's okay, tbh. Romance of Three Kingdoms series, if you see it have a tradition that they keep using since RTK VII and RTK VIII (the first RTK with officer and RPG element). Just look at them : RTK VII (RPG Feature), RTK VIII (RPG feature), RTK IX, pure strategy with ruler only), RTK X (RPG feature), RTK X (RPG feature), RTK XI (Strategy with ruler only), RTK XII (I don't know, I haven't play it, but I think it is also Strategy with ruler only), RTK XIII (RPG feature), RTK XIV (Strategy only). So I'm sure that RTK XV with have RPG feature again. The best RTK game with RPG features are RTK VII, RTK VIII and RTK X. RTK XIII is lack of what the previous RTK with RPG had.

agree... like the VII and VIII... why not XIII too? while XIII have officer play... but what we can do as free officer is too limited... why don't KOEI make something like OPEN WORLD ROTK... roaming the world in the ancient china wartime...
They have done it with RTK X. I don't know where we can find RTK X PC English version, but you can play Playstation 2 version with ROM and PS2 Emulation.
It was translated to English and uploaded to this site several months ago. Possible its an update? Game is trash btw...at least it was back when it released.
