I got a quick question. The game is running just fine but i cant use my controller. I tried through steam and it doesnt work. I also tried Big Picture but it recognizes P4G and wants me to buy it. is there any other way for me to play with Controller?

No, the updated version have a crack protection security jammed in it. They're still trying to crack it, but probably this game is not in their top most priority. So expect atleast another year or two.
I just asked about it yesterday, they said that update is protected by DRM. What that means is they cannot crack the next update at the moment, and it's almost been a year. So maybe we will never get the next update.

The megaup links are up and working as they usually are. The game ran perfectly, except for the fact that the tv shows now only show the text and a black screen. Apparently caused by the Beta Hotfix, thought I have no idea how to uninstall it. In any case the steam version is supposedly updated and with the update that glitch was fixed.
Just as a relief note, you can 100% beat the game in the current version, so no worries. The bugs that I encountered only hindered the 'quiz show' and the 'Edogawa's psychology lessons'. And videos of both exist on YouTube. So yeah, having the update would be nice but all endings can be completed without it.
Been looking for it as well. I wonder if there's a website somewhere (something like crackwatch) showing which version of a game is cracked and which one isn't. At least it would take the guesswork out of it.
They're part of the same game. They were split because the hosting sites only allow a specific size to be uploaded. You need to download both parts in order to extract the whole game.

to fix cutscenes, change battery performance to maximum, fixed it for me. you can find it in graphics properties when you right click on ur desktop ir nvidia control panel :)

So here's the matter: the first time I launched the game, it was in japanese, and I'm not talking about the voice acting, otherwise I wouldn't mind at all. Wireless Xbox 360 controllers need an adapter to work with pc, its the only way If its a Ps3 / Xbox One / Ps4 controller you can use bluetooth. And Wired controllers all work obviously.

the uncracked version is marked as "full unlocked" meaning only game files, and Adam pinned a post on that page linking to this one for the cracked version. Also mega only has a 5 hour wait so it shouldn't take days.

I've tried with almost every settings configuration (v-sync, windowed/fullscreen/borderless, renders, resolution, etc), gave it priority on the processes administration thing (i dont remember how's it called in English, sorry) and giving different settings to my Graphics (AMD). I've a "potato": 2gb RAM (1.6 gb available), AMD Radeon (up-to-date drivers), 32 bits. If anyone could help me or tell me what causes this, i'd be very thankful.
apparently its because the game is running on 32 bits. search the error code on google you might find solutions (I do that when it happens and i find an answer either on Microsoft's site or somewhere else)
nah it was just 7zip Tried with peazip and it works then again the game just crashed around when Mr Morooka calls you in April. I reloaded the save and that worked so might have just been a one-time thing
Does the PC version add anything to the Playstation version? If not, I'll just stick to running the PS version on emulator. Sounds like a lot less of a pain compared to the PC version if the other commentors are to be taken at face value.
This is the Golden version (former PSV exclusive) which adds some new content to the game. This game currently doesn't work with the PSV emulator. Vita version is different from the PS2 version.

that is the fix for lagged and stuttering cutscene. my prob is that all the sound beside the animated cutscene is gone. the gameplay, menu, etc. no audio at all, when the animated cutscene works fine without any problem at all

I have been loyally using x360ce for more than 2 years and yes, not all pc game with gaming controller (gamepad) can be solve with that software, for eg Ninokuni White Which & etc. So far, i manage the rest with JoytoKey
go to github and download DS4Windows. Itsup to date and have active devs. You can see your power in % etc. Just try it out. Btw it have no problems with Steam controller support.

This is technically a crack for PC, and the OS specs aren't that important. running pretty smoothly on Windows 7 tbh, expect for the cutscenes, which are a BIT choppy. You can play it on your PC witha keyboard and a mouse.

I don't know if i'll be able to help, I mean it was very simple. I'm also using x360ce and I just let the emulator configure itself on "Auto", then I opened the game with the emulator already opened and i worked. I'm using de 64-bits version of x360ce, maybe it affects something, dunno. Sorry man, hope you make it work .

Nevertheless, I manage it with Rosaria Marcella's help, an alternative using "JoytoKey". Even with other pc games which x360ce doesn't work, JoytoKey helps out
Since you're using 360ce i assume you're using it with a ps4 controller? Or is it with an xbox one? Cause if you're using a ps4 controller there is one app that is MILES better than JoyToKey
Another thing that can work is(like I mentioned earlier) adding a non-steam game(this cracked copy) to your steam library and configuring your controller from there
For me, Steam controller configure WORKS it's not optimal but it works There wasn't really much I couldn't fix by configuring the controller to map to keys (ex: dpad to WASD)
For those who want to play it on Windows 7 The game's gonna work. Although it'll start glitching and the video will keep pausing during cutscenes IF YOU EXIT THE GAME WINDOW , so that's a thing. Else, it seems pretty normal, at least for the last 3 days I've been playing this for.

There is a data_c.cpk in the game directory so it should be able to change language. Tried some different settings and finally got a way to change language. Go to C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Goldberg SteamEmu Saves\settings Modifiy the language.txt from anything to "tchinese", you will be able to play the game in traditional chinese. Cheers!
Great game tho I was clickbaited by the non-crack which stated nudity but I have to rate it 9/10 even played it with my potato computer and it runs well but the cutscenes laggy as heck but fixed it thanks @chuck

Glad I waited to try this version. As expected, my shitty laptop struggles badly to run it. Gameplay seems alright, but the cutscenes are atrocious, just maxed out CPU chugging. If I'd bought it only to find that out I'd be so upset.

You're probably using HD Graphics 4000 on your old processor which is so low compared to the lowest graphics cards inside the CPU itself like UHD 630 as an example. I'm using i3-7020U with Radeon 530 and it's still so weak and bad in running these games so it's not just you but a gaming Laptop, is a gaming laptop but we're using ones which were made to surf internet, not to run games.

P4G didn't change it's battle system from the original. In Royal the only change i remember to the battle system is that now bullets reload whenever you exit the battle instead of when you exit the dungeon

Basically ez mode like P3 Portable amirite. Well nothing wrong with playing ez mode, not like i can force people to play the original with harsher system like random skill inheritance, 4 elementals null/repel/drain common enemy, and you cant abuse skill card like in P4G. But if you already finished the original and wanna faster rerun, P4G is your choice. It literally shaves 20-30 hours gameplay. I did this too with P3 Portable after finished P3 FES.

Its good to see Persona on PC. But honestly I've always admired Personas aesthetic more then its awkward gameplay. Some people love it just fine, but thats just me. As far as gameplay I had an easier time grasping the Devil Summoner games.
Try to change the setting of your GPU via its manager i.r nvidia control panel then set the game to be run use GPU processor instead the pc integrated processor.
There is a workaround for that in the steam forums for persona 4 that basically replaces the videos with lower quality ones so they dont chop as much, I cant link it tho

For everyone if Persona 4 Golden cant detect ur Joystick even using xbox360 please following my guide. You can add P4G to steam by "adding non-steam game" -Setting ur controller in steam setting, goto tab controller -In general controller setting please check "Playstation Configuration Support" and " Generic Gamepad Configuration Support" -Back to tab controller, click Desktop Configuration -In Desktop Configuration click "Browse Configs", then click tab "Templates", click "Gamepad" then click Apply Configuration -Back to desktop gamepad main menu and click done -Then u can play Persona4 Golden from steam library Its worked for me, im using twin usb joystick, steam will detect ur joystick as playstation 3 joystick. So u can play the game.
There's a version with the crack and another one without one, the one without crack is there so you can download the game and when someone releases a crack you just patch the game and play. If you have a slow internet, or want download the game before a crack version is released.
This is one of the greatest JRPG series ever made, imo, and P4 is especially good. I rarely buy many games anymore, as quality nowadays is absolute trash focused on greed and politics, but this is one of those rare instant buys for me. Command & Conquer Remastered was my most recent instant buy. Pirate it if you want, nobody can tell you otherwise, but you really should buy it as it's worth every penny at full price, and more importantly helps tell Atlus that we want more of these games ported to PC. Your wallet speaks louder than your words. It's a straight up steal for how cheap it is right now. Hopefully they bring P5 over as well. I mean they even gave us Japanese voices as an option, which on the original PS2 and Vita releases you couldn't get without making an undub iso with a Japanese released game. Not to mention the DLC content from the Vita (golden) thrown in there as well. I mean for real I wasn't expecting this to be $20 with all those licensing fees for the Japanese voices, etc. You could do a LOT worse with $20. Buy it if you can, but if you can't, just download this and buy it when you can. It's worth.

Mine is also having a same problem. I'm trying to unplug the controller and plug it again in the game, it work but only for 5 sec. After that the game eject the controller again. Dunno what the reason tho.

it crashed once in full screen, never crashed in window mode. (I switched it to 720p window, and I use 1280x720 desktop resolution so even in window mode the game covers the whole screen anyway. it doesn't have borderless option).
tbh i would stay with 7 but in the next year they will remove the compatibility of many future programs for sure go for 8.1 if you want a similar experience like 7

I'm following the guide but I'm not seeing 1096435225 in my steam. I'm not sure if this is because I'm using a crack version. Edit: Nevermind, now I got it to work. Go to OS(C:)->Users->Click on user(Ex: Anthony)->AppData ->Roaming->Goldberg SteamEmu Saves->1113000->remote and thats where you should find the save datas. Now I just need to figure out how to change moves because they're not changing
... Backup first ... BEFORE you editing the game, make sure you run P4G and put it in load position (when you see file selection), now stop there ... after that edit the file whatever you like and save ... now continue the game and load it, the file will still visible and be loaded ...

For people having performance problems, try running the game in borderless or windowed mode. The game will lock to 30 fps if it detects even the slightest frame drop when set to fullscreen. Shadows are also unusually demanding. 1080p with low shadows is somehow more demanding than 4k with no shadows.

Ummm this latest patch that came out, the one that came out without denuvo, was EXACTLY to address cutscene stuttering. If it still stutters for you then it's your machine's problem, not the game's

First of all there is NO crack. second of all the .exe that came with that patch is the .exe that didn't have denuvo, thus it's the one Goldberg used for the steam emulation process. Meaning that this version you're downloading right now is the most up to date version of the game and yes it does include the patch that was meant to fix stuttering. And i can confirm on my end i have zero stuttering or lagg or any issues whatsoever

Google it, its from a modder on steam that fixes janky, buggy games like nier automata and tales of beseria and the like. For persona tho he got rid of the god awful motionblur (if u want the og experience with the playstation 2 heavy duty motion blur all the power to u) and general stability.

Atlus doesn't deserve anymore of my money after putting the Atlus tax on their 3DS games bought 4 of their overpriced 3DS titles because Atlus abuses having a small Western fanbase for Etrian Odyssey after spending an extra $10-15 on 4 of their titles I think it's only fair that I pirate a single $20 game of theirs

The only Persona game I've played honestly is the first one I think, I was trying to go through them in a row to get a feel for the series but then I got sidetracked. Seems like an interesting series of games, so might try again.
Different strokes for different folks. This is a great series, but if you dislike anime aesthetics and dialogue-heavy games then you definitely won't enjoy any game with "Persona" or "Shin Megami Tensei" in its' title. There's Persona 4 Arena Ultimax though if you like fighting games, but the only way to play it right now is through emulation.
With the way sales is going with P4 Golden, I think we can expect more PC ports from Atlus soon. I'm personally waiting for Persona 5 Royal, Scramble and the P4 dancing game. You can try P5 Scramble, but steer clear of Royal because it's even more "in-depth" than this game if ya know what I mean.

It's kind of a Visual Novel. Dialogue>combat here. It's a bit daunting at first, but after you get used to it you can enjoy it more. Kinda like me when playing Yakuza series the first time, and trying not to go straight for the main story like other games.

i have played some jap games with the original voices and all of them sounds way a lot better than the awful english dub theres some exceptions however, like the japanese dub of modern warfare 2 sounds very awkward
the Persona series is one of my favorites Jrpgs and RPGs in general to play and watch speedruns of and I HATE ANIME with a passion. Persona is a really complex and deep JRPG that is more than a typical weeb game with shitty gameplay. Yes it does have cringeworthy writing and voice acting, but that has to do with how terrible the US translations are to that game. IF you like dungeon crawling and turn based RPGs, this will be up your ally.

People will never stop downloading the full unlocked. They're impatient and there's always an influx of some people that do that shit. Half of them stop half way because of virus reasons or because they got unlucky and downloaded the one game they wanted that was only unlocked and not cracked, regardless it's both good and bad. Good because we don't got this site overrunning to the point where it's blowing up and getting DMCA'd.
A few tips for people who never played a Persona (or SMT) games: The first dungeon is at medium difficulty once you figure out all the weaknesses of the "shadows", but until then, make sure you are guarding if you didnt find a weakness on your first run with all the characters you have at that point. Enemies can and will hit you hard, unlikely at your persona's weakness, but still hard. Grind a little more, dont run away from fights if you can, and try to get every persona card (from shuffle time) so you could properly fuse them in the velvet room and fully prepare yourself for the first dungeon boss, which can be quite hard if you are not equipped well with skills, and buffs\debuffs. MANAGE YOUR MP PROPERLY. the first 2-3 dungeons really teach you (harshly) that you have to manage MP for every dungeon run\session you make. Dont use powerful skills like zio\bufu\garu\agi and especially not light and dark UNLESS THATS THE ENEMY's WEAKNESS. If enemy X is weak to ice (aka bufu), use it, but dont just use it for every enemy that is neutral to it. MP items are hard to get at first, once you work, and do "out of dungeon" stuff to get more money you can even purchase MP replenishment items, but in the beginning, learn to use that MP wisely. Be wary of the MC's (main character) MP since you can literally get personas who got all the skills in the game, and help with MP cost of other characters who typically have one major skill and buffs\heals etc. If you have a line of three characters who are weak to wind (aka Garu), use once or twice with MC, and once with character X (not spoiling) to help with his MP useage, next time, change it around. Grind, grind grind. Go (if you can with managing MP well) through the whole first dungeon to get all the personas you can like I said, level up quite a lot more than you think, since the first boss is rough. Secondly, open chests and all of them, you might get a good accesory, item, MP, revives etc which are very scarce at the beginning, and obviously use them wisely. Do all the social things you can do with the first sort of "character" you interact with, and before you go for the boss of the first dungeon, then use fusing in the velvet room and hopefully get some extra with the Magician arcana because of the http://S.link with Character X and Y for the second characer (Chariot arcana). Also look at the velvet room schedule thing, I forgot the name, but it will show you bonus rewards at certain days to fuse certain things, very very useful to get some nice extra skills for MC.
OH and another thing, even though it makes sense. LEVEL UP YOUR TWO companions. the female character will get bufu (ice) at level 6 which is important for the boss, and the first male character will get Sukukaja at level 5 which Increases Accuracy/Evasion for one ally which will help with the boss. no spoiling, but its good to have. More than likely you wont level upto 10 which will give you Makajam but I dont remember at what level you finish the first dungeon maybe its possible its been a while. also Skull Cracker at level 11 for the first female character is nice since it is a pretty good physical attack.
You need a walkthrough in this if you want to complete the game because there are some missable social links and they are hard to find if you just play normally.

This is NOT a remaster, this is a port of the Vita version. Not everyone can get their hands on a Vita and having it on PC make sit much more accessible to gamers. Not to mention that if this game does well, other Persona games might make their way to PC as well, i have a feeling Atlus is using this game to...test the waters as it were

it's definitely enhanced, you got new areas, new characters, new things to do, compared to ps2 version. Marie in general didn't exist in ps2 version, let alone her whole dungeon, and also they added newer persona into the game also being able to swap difficulty at any time, not possible in ps2 version. oh and scooters!!

If its a Ps3 / Xbox One / Ps4 controller you can use bluetooth. And Wired controllers all work obviously.
Btw, does anybody know how to fix - or what causes - a graphical issue, where the models of characters and some objects kind of freak out and get all over the screen? i dont know if i can post an image or something, but it's a pretty bizarre view: stretched out geometry, with the color palet of the object it's suppossed to be and some other random ones.
Edit: It works i got my Ps4 controller working in the game. I just plugged it and play that's all there is to it.

You can add P4G to steam by "adding non-steam game"
-Setting ur controller in steam setting, goto tab controller
-In general controller setting please check "Playstation Configuration Support" and " Generic Gamepad Configuration Support"

Pirate it if you want, nobody can tell you otherwise, but you really should buy it as it's worth every penny at full price, and more importantly helps tell Atlus that we want more of these games ported to PC. Your wallet speaks louder than your words. It's a straight up steal for how cheap it is right now. Hopefully they bring P5 over as well. I mean they even gave us Japanese voices as an option, which on the original PS2 and Vita releases you couldn't get without making an undub iso with a Japanese released game. Not to mention the DLC content from the Vita (golden) thrown in there as well. I mean for real I wasn't expecting this to be $20 with all those licensing fees for the Japanese voices, etc. You could do a LOT worse with $20.
Buy it if you can, but if you can't, just download this and buy it when you can. It's worth.

Go to OS(C:)->Users->Click on user(Ex: Anthony)->AppData
->Roaming->Goldberg SteamEmu Saves->1113000->remote and thats where you should find the save datas. Now I just need to figure out how to change moves because they're not changing

BEFORE you editing the game, make sure you run P4G and put it in load position (when you see file selection), now stop there ...
after that edit the file whatever you like and save ...
now continue the game and load it, the file will still visible and be loaded ...

It's a bit daunting at first, but after you get used to it you can enjoy it more. Kinda like me when playing Yakuza series the first time, and trying not to go straight for the main story like other games.

its for people who buy the game but dont want to download through steam/epic store.
the reason is normally when you download at this side, the download speed is faster, and i normally just torrent game here after i bought the game and steam will recognize the game as you download it from the store

The first dungeon is at medium difficulty once you figure out all the weaknesses of the "shadows", but until then, make sure you are guarding if you didnt find a weakness on your first run with all the characters you have at that point. Enemies can and will hit you hard, unlikely at your persona's weakness, but still hard.
Grind a little more, dont run away from fights if you can, and try to get every persona card (from shuffle time) so you could properly fuse them in the velvet room and fully prepare yourself for the first dungeon boss, which can be quite hard if you are not equipped well with skills, and buffs\debuffs.
MANAGE YOUR MP PROPERLY. the first 2-3 dungeons really teach you (harshly) that you have to manage MP for every dungeon run\session you make. Dont use powerful skills like zio\bufu\garu\agi and especially not light and dark UNLESS THATS THE ENEMY's WEAKNESS. If enemy X is weak to ice (aka bufu), use it, but dont just use it for every enemy that is neutral to it. MP items are hard to get at first, once you work, and do "out of dungeon" stuff to get more money you can even purchase MP replenishment items, but in the beginning, learn to use that MP wisely.
Be wary of the MC's (main character) MP since you can literally get personas who got all the skills in the game, and help with MP cost of other characters who typically have one major skill and buffs\heals etc. If you have a line of three characters who are weak to wind (aka Garu), use once or twice with MC, and once with character X (not spoiling) to help with his MP useage, next time, change it around.
Grind, grind grind. Go (if you can with managing MP well) through the whole first dungeon to get all the personas you can like I said, level up quite a lot more than you think, since the first boss is rough. Secondly, open chests and all of them, you might get a good accesory, item, MP, revives etc which are very scarce at the beginning, and obviously use them wisely.
Do all the social things you can do with the first sort of "character" you interact with, and before you go for the boss of the first dungeon, then use fusing in the velvet room and hopefully get some extra with the Magician arcana because of the http://S.link with Character X and Y for the second characer (Chariot arcana). Also look at the velvet room schedule thing, I forgot the name, but it will show you bonus rewards at certain days to fuse certain things, very very useful to get some nice extra skills for MC.
i am sure some people are more interested of how much time you took to type all this :P
also Skull Cracker at level 11 for the first female character is nice since it is a pretty good physical attack.
i don't have all the graphics at 1080 since recording was screwing up in fullscreen.

Fancy graphics can't save a game from being viewed as bad. Remember No Man's Sky ..? Fancy for sure, but bombed by the critics at launch. Then the gameplay evolved, while the graphics stayed more or less the same, and voila ! Success !
