Sounds like something google would do. As an American it seems to me that we don't really know whats going on in the rest of the world unless you've actually been there and seen it with your own eyes. I wouldn't take google or the New York times word for it. We've probably got the most insidious media ever devised.
The worst part is that the media do lie, but these people only talk about one part of the media; the media they politically hate. They're not even unbiased enough to say "everyone lies".
