I said virtually the exact same thing on Mastur(bate) Magistrate and got downvote bombed. I as well originally help out people on a certain game and then when the answer has been given ad nauseum already, people still flow in and make a new post about how the game doesn't work. When I tell the newcomers to just bloody scroll down three clicks and find the answer themselves, I get people saying I'm the biggest piece of shit ever and get downvote bombed. I said my piece in a spicy manner but it blows me away how people defend people that constantly just have their hands out rather than do the slightest bit of reading and teach themselves to help themselves. I kind of just give up with commenting. Edit: Lmao, and now I get banned from commenting on IGG and majority of my comments are removed. The guys comment, telling me to go kill myself is still prominently displayed though. I love it. Thanks to the mod for that discriminated against me solely.
Another visual novel , Hmmm . I want to ask the gamers who play this type of games , Is it enjoyable ? and is it really fun to play ? because I did not play any game from this type before , and I do not know if it worth the time to play it ? If You have any good games of this type please put a list of them here so may be I will try it some times . Thanks IGG for sharing . Edit : Thanks every one for these games list and all its info. and explaining , I will try to play some of Them to see if I will enjoy these games or not . I hope that I will have a new experiments with this type of games .
do you read manga though? because VNs are pretty much an extremely glorified version of manga. meaning you gonna have to ask yourself what makes or breaks a manga. that's also what will make or break a VN.
Visual Novel= if you want to enjoy some story when you have a free time there are a lot of variants there are love comedy, romance there are 18+contents or so called eroge (ero means "naughty" in japanese and basically means ero game = "naughty" game) there are 200 iq mystery sherlock solving there are psychologically horror that no mental-problem people should play it's like living someone's life and you need to choose your route. either you live it though your hearts content or living it seriously to get the one you wanted to be
Honestly, I love reading, but I only play romance VN with nameable protagonist, because it's my guilty pleasure. If I wanted to read about some rando anime guy in romance I would watch anime (which I don't enjoy). Really tho as others pointed out games like Ace Attorney and Danganrongpa are excellent games. Play Doki Doki Literature Club, and go into it blind.
kinda surprised no one said this, but you should try YU-NO, although its very complex VN, its also very iteresting and your choices and observation are key. I also recomend rewrite, it was my first VN and the one that got me hooked. there is also grisaia series, and if you want some mixed gameplay and VN,, i highly recomenda kamidori alchemy meister and baldr sky force. those re my peronal recomendations
People who loves playing visual novel are actually those people who enjoyed reading. It's interesting and enjoyable because we know we came to read the story, so as long as the storyline is up to our taste, we would definitely find the VN enjoyable. I actually play a lot of VN already but its usually romance and you played as a heroine- so im not sure you gonna like it haha.
Visual Novel is meant to be enjoyed just like enjoying a novel or a story book. Try reading Umineko and Higurashi or a VN/ Sound Novel made by 07th Expansion.
Firstly, you are looking at it all wrong. Don't look at is as a game or you will be disappointed. Look at it as a more accessible book: it has visuals, music, voices and it's easier to read. Most of the visual novels don't have any traditional gameplay elements.
i would recommend for a beginner to play VNs with mystery elements or detective work. All of the games mentioned below have gameplay elements other than just reading text. AI The Somnium Files: a mystery game with a compelling plot that has a lot of twist. The game takes place in the future and you play as a detective that -with new technology- can enter people's dreams. The gameplay is focused on exploring people's dreams and uncovering the truth by interacting with objects in dreamWorld. Zero Escape series: First game of the series revolves around 9 people that mysteriously woke up in a ship. To move around the ship you must enter multiple doors and solve puzzles in point and click style of gameplay. You have a lot of choices and to completely solve the mystery you must finish all the roots. Danganronpa: you are a new student in a luxurious university, however, you got in there by luck. Being surrounded by people that are the top of their field. The mystery starts when you wake up and confronted by a teddy that tells you that you are stuck in this uni forever. The only way to get out is to kill another student and remain unknown. When a student does that, you have to investigate the crime scene and collect evidence. Then you must reveal the killer in court where all the evidence is laid out and you must figure out the liar. Use analysis and logical skills to survive
Most of the games that I play are visual novels x'D Being a good, enjoyable and or fun game experience depends entirely on the game and you as a person (your tastes), if i start a visual novel (or any game kind of game) and after a while find it boring, i just quit and try another one. I don't read kinetic novels since I can't make choices that will impact the story and change the outcome of it, they feel more like books to me and that doesn't make me feel as active part of the story, though i have to admit that for me having a good story is the key to any game's enjoyment. I love Life is Strange, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, The Danganronpa Series, Loren The Amazon Princess, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, The Ace Attorney Series, Taisho x Alice, Sweet Pool, Love Esquire, and a lot of other games regardless of their genre. One of my favorite vns is Clannad, I love nakige even if it rips my heart to pieces.
Have you read Narcissu? I never liked Kinetic Novel except that one... My heart rends to pieces. Even the author are saying they are sorry for making this a sad story, they didn't meant to make us cry, but to take this as a part of life lesson...
That's fine. Visual novels are a very niche genre and they're absolutely not for everyone. I must admit that even though I play visual novels and generally enjoy them, many of them are waste of time. Majority of them are either dating simulators or porn. It's very hard to find actually good visual novel that could be enjoyable for everyone or just something that is not another fap material for coomers.
Visual novels aren't bad if they're used with certain systems along side them, for example: I can't play pure visual novel games because there isn't any difference from VNs and a book with pictures with a little background music here and there. Take Nai's training day or One room runaway girl they're pretty solid with story branches makes me feel like I'm excited to see if i chose the right or wrong, what the outcome maybe you know? also they got little affection systems i guess what i'm really trying to say is Vns by themselves are too bland and boring, unless you're really into the reading stuff. I do like me a good story though, just make sure to grasp my attention from giving flexibility with the story and 1/2 minigames.
Certain people who read books could really like a VN if the story is good for them though... It's certainly rare for VN that doesn't have too many romance inside of it and actually has a good plot and story... Some people have mentioned a good VN selection in newer comments
For those who played this tell me about this game please
edit: steam reviews are your friend. and they are saying a huge no on this.

Try playing Ever17, original Steins Gate and House in Fata Morgana
