When I first install the game it was starting at the beginning as I commented earlier and after your comment I copied the save file in RUNE folder and problem solved... but my question is where did you find the solution ? How did you know that there was RUNE/1217060 folder in C drive.
when I got into the game, I lost the name in the game was set to RUNE, so I suddenly thought "try searching in My Computer to see if there is an entry named RUNE" and finally there was an entry named RUNE, I just got lucky. .
v2023.07.25 & DLC Lan doesn't work. Launching via Gunfire Reborn-LAN.exe, when clicking invite, cannot find other player on lan. Matchmaking doesnt work either.
I dont know exactly about the methods describe on other users' comments but this is what I did it to make the game work.
So, extract the .rar file and mount the disk. Next, run the set up file in the disk and install it to a folder.
Next, copy the content of that entire folder (you just installed) into your original Gunfire Reborn folder (You may want to copy the content into a copy of the original GF just to be safe). If you check now, you will see a new login screen, and in the Heroes tab there are 2 new characters, but they are locked.
Finally, open the steam_settings folder and you will see the DLC.txt file. Open it up and modify it to also include "2430400 = Gunfire Reborn - Artisan and Magican". After saving the change, the two heroes will now be unlocked for you
I just found out how: In the main game folder (with the loader and game EXEs) make a folder called steam_settings then a file called DLC.txt (or just text file called DLC if you have file extensions hidden) in there containing the text 2111850=Visitors of Spirit Realm
For anyone confused why it's not cracked or why there is no LAN .exe you may need to run steam_loader.exe but I didn't try it
steam_loader.exe gives 19/70 on virustotal, likely false positives.
Personally I dragged and dropped my Gunfire Reborn-LAN.exe from the old folder into the new folder and it worked and booted up the new version. Did that before I spotted steam loader.

Depending in your previous installs it could have been located in your previous game folder or at c:\Users(username)\AppData\Roaming\Goldberg SteamEmu Saves\ or even at My Documents folder. Depending on the cracks used in your previous game version.

I just installed the game and i too find no such file in the the game folder all you need to do is install apply the crack in other word copy past the crack files in the game folder and you're good to go.
You extract the rar file inside you find a .iso inside the iso theres the installer once you have succesfully installed the game go back to the iso you find a folder called "rune" inside of it is the crack, you copy it in the game folder and you done alternatively you can also copy the crack from the installer. once you run setup it will tell you where to install the game and down below at the bottom there is a box you check to copy crack files in the game folder
The folder structure is different, your previous save was in: "\Gunfire.Reborn.(your version)\1217060\remote" This one is in: "\Gunfire.Reborn.Spiritual.Assault\Gunfire.Reborn\steam_settings\1217060\remote"
It's not working, the game opens but a screen appears inside the game that says "game files integrity verification failed, code:1" and closes after that
after installing, find your old save file, should be user_1.dat and copy it then go to c:drive and search for user_1.dat, it should be in .../Steam/Codex/[numbers]/remote then just paste and replace your old one onto the new one if its not in c:drive then check your other drives

I see that some people in the comments managed to get the coop to work via Hamachi. For me the game always throws "cannot join as the team has disbanded" whenever someone else or I join the game. Can anyone who got it to work explain how to make the coop work? Thanks.
Look for "account_name.txt". Sometimes it's in the game directory. Though in the case of GoldBerg cracks, it's in "%appdata%\Goldberg SteamEmu Saves\settings".

Its not impossible for some games, but its not something anyone should expect to work, thats for sure. I have only done it on a few games and its always a pain in the ass figuring it out and helping my friends set it up.

The game is not updated, the new hero is not showing up for me. Is anyone else having this problem? also you have to start the game from "steamclient_loader" if Gunfire Reborn-LAN.exe is not showing up. How can you check the current version of the game is there any method.
I can confirm this game isn't actually updated past the December patch. The new character is not present, nor are the weapons that should now be unlockable. This is stuff that's easy to double check in-game. Someone messed up.

I haven't looked for the updated version on other sites, but i did make another request for it here. Besides that, I didn't see the version number listed in-game. Usually, it's on the title screen or something.

i tried doing this as you said, the 2 dll files into the plugins folder, everything else into the main folder, and when i try to run the _LAN version it says "couldnt find the requested SteamClient64dll", theres no file like this anywhere in either download

I don't have my computer in front of me but I believe you have to open the like steam client file or something. Its like two files under the .Exe. There should be people there explaining it as well. Even Indie games. Someone is going to either buy it, or not. Pirating helps Indie devs more than anything because they function as demos. There are a bunch of games that I pulled the trigger on buying specifically because I was able to actually play them beforehand instead of taking a leap of faith. They were games that I would not have bought if I hadn't played them beforehand.
True, I'm using this site for basically trying out new releases (or EA titles, yuck). If I found it pleasant or enjoyable, then I would be more than happy to purchase it.
Not just that because it's so early you only get one character from the start the other character is unlocked at level 30. I'm at level 10 and I still feel pretty weak because there are base enemies that take a lot of damage from you even with items that circumvent you taking hits every once in a while. The boss feels pretty meh for a first level boss even if you manage to master dodging in the game and understanding that certain weapons are heavier so if you want to increase your movement for avoiding hits you want to be carrying a lighter gun the feeling of just one hit can end the game is kind of terrible. I'm use to playing something like Enter The Gungeon and even though it's a different game it's fair on a new player even if they've never touched a roguelike game before. If you get hit it's your fault but Gunfire the first boss again even understanding the dodge timing their attacks are too fast and cover a wide AoE that feels like every time you do successfully dodge it that it's at the last minute.
I own the game on Steam. It's ok but I feel it's already grindy out the gate because the first boss can one shot you no matter how good you are at dodging their attacks.
