It is out now. Both English and Japanese versions were released yesterday (July, 21st). I also thought it would take much longer, but It came out kinda pretty fast.
Every good-looking action/metroidvania game nowadays always gotta be roguelike/lite. Like COMMON man, I'm not a masochist, give me a damn regular game, geez. I beat Dead cells and enjoy my time with it for the most part, but that doesn't mean I'm in love with this crappy sub-genre lol.
It's true that sometimes, adding roguelite features to a perfectly playable metroidvania feels unnecessary. I wish there were more games like Iconoclasts or Bloodstained, really.
