maybe it's the aesthetics but I like the FEEL of SoR4 better than the Remake both graphic and gameplay wise I dunno everything just hit better in the sequel for me despite the content also the remake had more time to develop than SoR4 did so of course it got a lot more going for it

I did but it removes the steam fix. I did some checking and the game has an error when I copy the steam.dll from the folder into the SOR4 folder. So not sure but that is causing the error.

Wow, the game is the worst SoR I played, chars are slow as fuck, can't run/dodge, first bosses are harder than last bosses, music is totally meh, if not forgetable, the "oldies" playlist is totally off with some stages. Like if Yuzo Koshiro was like: yeah that game suck ass, so okay i drop some beats I made like in 15min. Glad I downloaded it here, it totally saved me 20€ on it.

MRB has quite better gameplay than 4 but also has missing features like an invincible attack, i remember that game you can get swarmed on hard and you are pretty much fucked up, theres no lives to continue, you start from the last checkpoint
I kind of regret getting the game legit for $25, BUT I can say the game is fricken good. Hand drawn. Moves and techs are the same with a new mechanic (desperation moves that normally lose health can be recovered by fighting without getting hit). Crisp. Clean. And have some nods to the old school. I had fun and replayed it a few times. However, the game is long as the old school beat-em-ups outside of a few secrets; meaning it's pretty short for games. Best the game 2 hours after purchase. Doubtful that the majority have hangups on pirating, but there you go. Worth the download time. Also screw they guy who holds the blade to his gut and charges.

actually Cherry Hunter can run and the closest to a roll is Axel's jump special where he rolls and fire punch his enemies. the best way to dodge attacks is just simply moving up or down like seriously there are many instances where I was saved by dodging attacks that way, and yeah it took me a lot of time to get used to but when I did I was mowing down enemies with quick succession and minimal hits as possible I even beat Mania mode with it with juuuuuust a small health left
the fatsos in the last part, they always have shitty autoguard you totally depend of the bouncing spike ball, and yet their rolling and fire attack cannot be interrupted i dont remember that shit in previous games and the remake

This game is still protected, need a fix, when you play the next time you can't pick up anything in the floor, chickens, apple and money, it makes the game very hard. It doesn't work even with keyboard.
If you're expecting attack to pick up items like previous Streets of Rage games, then you need to switch your control layout to "legacy", otherwise there's a specific button for picking up items.

ok SO.....parsec works and is super active. U have to navigate black screen. Memorize the menu and dont press X for online. Press A to join,then select ur character by the voices. Never press B twice. It works. Also if u see people playing and u join as a spectator dont fuken pause the game -_-

I'm with you on that, I think the last effort they bothered with was the little known mobile game. In that light, maybe they're trying to bring in fresh fans since most newer gamers probably never played SOR so they shook the cast up a bit. I still don't get why they had to slow everything down so much, though. I know Sega themselves didn't develop this but they put their stamp on it. That's what matters in a beat'em up, guys. It's a pretty game and sounds nice even if they pointlessly eliminated franchise characters in lieu of new ones - the cast was already pretty diverse. I already knew this was a shit pile right from the first boss. I'm an Axel guy so I picked him, and he's been slowed down even more from 3. No run feature. No roll. And a boss who walks faster than you and by the time you catch up, she uses a bullshit invincibility frame attack you have to dodge. Now you're trying to catch up again. This cycle continues for way too long. The game never gets any better from there. I appreciate that you can combo enemies on both sides I guess. That's about all I'll give it. Everything else feels slowed down from the pace of the original and it's annoying and unfun. A step backward. I was planning on buying this legit if I enjoyed it to show them that yes, there's still love for the franchise. But nope. No way I'm letting them know this garbage is ok. And just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I played Streets of Rage Remake and then 2 on the Genesis. Nope, 4 was just handled that poorly, those two games both played like I know and love. Chrono Trigger is kinda okay if you install lots of mods. But I still prefer using Snes9x with CRT shaders to make it look like the way I played it back in the 90s. In my opinion, Trials of Mana is more comparable to Secret of Mana 3D remake, which is perfectly acceptable in my opinion. Maybe the original game is still better in some aspects, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. (there are some hacked roms which make the game 200% better, actually) Have you tried it the new Secret of Mana?
i would go for the chrono ds version instead the file size it's ridiculously small, it has way better video settings and any toaster can run it with no problems

I was planning on buying this legit if I enjoyed it to show them that yes, there's still love for the franchise. But nope. No way I'm letting them know this garbage is ok. And just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I played Streets of Rage Remake and then 2 on the Genesis. Nope, 4 was just handled that poorly, those two games both played like I know and love.
Once the nostalgia lifts from everyone eyes I see reviews going south fast on this.

if we compare to that dumb ff7 remake and chrono trigger pc port together
trials remake is better
But I still prefer using Snes9x with CRT shaders to make it look like the way I played it back in the 90s.
In my opinion, Trials of Mana is more comparable to Secret of Mana 3D remake, which is perfectly acceptable in my opinion. Maybe the original game is still better in some aspects, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.
(there are some hacked roms which make the game 200% better, actually)

the file size it's ridiculously small, it has way better video settings and any toaster can run it with no problems
I did play the remake! I liked it alot, but my only grime with it is that making something 3d doesn't always make it better.
