Woah, thought I'd give this one last shot and I got it working with VD including quest touch controllers AFTER injecting into Revive one time - maybe that fixed the Oculus license issue? SO this is what I did: Install Revive Launch Quest in Link mode Launch Steam VR Drag TheRoomVR.exe into ReviveInjector.exe Start a campaign (can't do anything since controllers don't work) Quit out, close Oculus, Steam, etc Connect to PC via VD Then use the 'Launch Game' option in the VD tray for TheRoomVR.exe
RIFT S Method that worked for me perfectly (game beaten, 0 problems at all). It's a little bit by brute force, but I don't have the time and/or patience to see why exactly does it work. But it does, so...
Install the game from this site.
Install Revive, lastest version from Github.
Go to Revive folder (program files/revive by default), take ALL THE FILES and place them in the game installation folder, so the revive exes and the game exes are in the same folder.
Download the game "Defector", available in this site. It sounds crazy, but just go for it.
When downloaded, you'll see a crack folder with several subfolders. Go for BypassPackVR (other) and open the file Jarvis Bypass Rift Medium. Unpack its contents (injector files) to the game folder, so you have a great exe file party there, all together.
Drag the game exe to the 64 bit version of revive injector exe, and just wait a few seconds. If you don't have hands in the game, just close it and open it again. THIS ALSO WORKS WITH WILSON'S HEART, even without copying the revive folder (I had to in The Room VR, though). I've beaten both games and everything was perfectly right. Good luck and have fun.
You don't need step 3 and you're actually missing one more step to get this to work on the Rift. Otherwise, it'll still be stuck on checking for a license.
In the Defector game's crack folder under the BypassPackVR (other) folder, there's a folder called "LibOVRPlatform64_2". Inside it is "LibOVRPlatform64_1.dll". Copy this to the root game folder where "TheRoomVR.exe" is.
This step was also missing in the Wilson's Heart and Defector crack tutorial if anyone wants to play those games as well. But instead copying from the LibOVRPlatform64_2 folder, you should copy LibOVRPlatform64_1.dll from the LibOVRPlatform64_1 folder to the game's root folder.
Did not work using the rift. I still got the authentication error. I really like The Room series and am tempted to buy this one. It's the lack or replayability that makes me want to pirate it. I don't want to spend $30, beat it within a couple hours, and then never play it again.
Just like every other games with this revive bypass, on a Valve Index the controls doesn't work. The hand tracking works fine, the joystick works fine, but there's no way to interact with objects. I think the Revive supported it long ago, but the Jarvis bypass seems to use an old revive dll from before the Index was supported. Isn't there an up-to-date Jarvis bypass available somewhere? edit: Found Gammon which seems to be the same thing, more up-to-date and less of a mess, but still can't press the damn button!

Pero tu pillas con el boton izq del raton el fichero reviveinjector.exe y lo pones encima del theroomvr.exe? El reviveinjector usa el que han colgado en un comentario mas abajo. Te aseguro que a mi me funciono con las oculus rift cv1.
It works for me with oculus rift CV1 and revive. All perfect. (thanks Yukipi for the revive link) It doesnt work with the htc vive pro and revive. Just a black screen and the sound of the game like loaded, but not recognized the headset.
I see continued posts of issues but I don't seem to be having any. I can run the game, grab the key, put it in safe, see the growth, interact with dumbwaiter. Is it after this people are having problems?
i got the game working but know my grabbing is messed up i have to hold it in place for a bit and the move it where i want then wait and hope it goes the right way i cant even pick up the key at the start
Please upload STEAM version, this does not work. You can start the game by using the Revive injector but it's impossible to make it past the first screen as you can not interact with anything.
Index headset, game starts if I use the Revive injector but you cannot interact with anything making it unplayable. Everyone is reporting the same problem, it seems.
i was able to get the game to work by updating my revive and using your files and the original injector since yours kept crashing but now i have to hold my hand in place to grab something for like 20 seconds and do the same to move it which is bad on its own but i cant pick up the key no matter what im hoping you may have some idea
Hey Josef, i've got the same Quest VD setup, pretty sweet! Having trouble with this though- I followed the directions from Yukupi but the game just opens as a view of the desktop in a window, and in the VD menu there is no option to 'enter VR'. I'm running VD 1.12.1. Any ideas how to get it in VR and not just a windowed view? Cheers! UPDATE: I was able to get this working - just followed Yukupi advice, except with Oculus Quest and Virtual Desktop, inject the game from the VD system tray (after the revive injector is copied to the game directory). Awesome game!
i am more upset then i can express with text i love the room series and would have bought this if i wasnt broke and stuck at home but this is really upsetting to me im mostly venting but my point that this is ridiculous stands

Yeah its beacuse the uploader decided to use the oculus version isntead of the steam version we will have to wait to see if someone will upload a steamvr version of the game otherwise we cant play it because of the oculus stores anti-piracy measures that check your account for purchase of the game..
