using dx11 didn't work for me. but here's what did. I turned off vsync, and set frame rate to "max" runs silky smooth now. and somehow there's no screen tearing although vsync is off.
No, the Doom 64 EX mod is now outdated since 2 years. Also, this version IS actually Doom 64 EX, it's the same developer, and it's been improved. On the other hand, I agree that the engine itself is way less interesting than Gzdoom. For me, the best of both worlds is Doom 64 Retribution.

The mod developer literally even writes it in his description : "Think of this mod as being an enhanced version of Doom 64 for GZDoom." And... He's right, and this is also what I said. It IS better. Differences are minimal, and overall, if I want to enjoy Doom 64, the whole experience is better with Doom 64 Retribution. Not having the exact same sprites doesn't bother me.
Oh, it's a custom engine/launcher which can use mods and custom wads, etc. And well, it's more comfortable and have more options than the one used here. So, I prefer Doom 64 Retribution. On the other hand, I'm still playing this new one and I'd say it's definitely more faithful to the original game.

well i never took the chance to do it with that amount of ram but i bet it can barely run i did it long time ago with my 10 years old potato laptop core 2 quad geforce 210 4 GB ram 60+ fps at 1270x720
8gb for those graphics? Was someone at Bethesda high when they came up with those specs? I was a teenager when this came out, it should be able to run well on a phone.
bethesda have been stupid lately those specs are obviously ridiculous for a game who is more than 20 years old dont waste your time and get brutal doom 64 instead it does even have a great intro map before entering map 01
this game can't run on my 1050 ti with 16 gb ram even when i put it on ultra settings but it runs on an ultra setting with my intel pentium 4 dedicated graphics card with 500mb ram :/
Yes, it's the same game, same developer. But it has been updated now. It's still not as good and kinda useless if you can run Doom 64 Retribution on Gzdoom, though.
