0.4.7.7 villager's AI stop working after 2 years and the game is stuck on the loading screen forever if I try to load a save game (from 0.4.7.7). I try many times but can't load any saved file.

If youre sure you have the correct files installed, try any combo of the following: Try clearing out cookies & cache & even possibly the old registry files &/or doing a full system restart in order to flush out the old RAM files. Ccleaner is a free & great program to simplify clearing C&C & outdated registry files. IF you use it be careful about deleting old registry files & make sure to save a backup of them, when prompted.

Same here. After unpacking, it appeared ready to play. Tried running ostriv.exe, but no go. After looking into _Redist folder & running the oalinst.exe, then going back to main folder & then running ostriv.exe, it loaded fine. Hope this helps.
Thanks, but it still doesnt work. I started every .exe in the _Redist folder and installed everything in there (DirectX i had already a newer Version and Microsoft Studios too)
Well shoot... The only other thing I did, which I wasnt sure if it really had any impact, is I also opened ostriv_settings.exe & unchecked VSync... as IK from prior experience, this can sometimes cause issues... Other than completely uninstalling, clearing cookies & cache & re-downloading file & reinstalling again & trying just both of those things I did... it could be any # of other issues ofc... The dev published a first patch for the game. It fixes many crashes causes, and the keys rebind that was not working. That said, this is the most interesting survival city builder i played in a while. I will most probably buy the game to show my support to this man that worked so hard on it.
The whole aesthetic of the game reminds me of Banished, looks pretty similar, and they're the same genre too. I wonder if this game is gonna be better or worse when finished.
In my opinion, even if unfinished, its already better than banished. Much more depth, more economy, better production chains, better game mecanics. Now, i just hope the next big content patches will make it even better.
